What a brilliant company to rent from. The team were super friendly and welcoming, the motor home very new and clean and the king/twin perfect for for adults if two are close enough to share the double bed (my wife and I are!). 😀 The motor home was surprisingly easy to drive and manoeuvring was simple. We got the VIP insurance which we didn't call on but was good peace of mind. Overall we couldn't have been happier, we will coming back to New Zealand and there is only one company we will be getting our motorhome from.

We hired a double for 4 as we were a party of 3 adults. The motorhome met our needs perfectly. On collection the staff were polite and friendly. We were offered a drink as the paperwork was completed and then shown around the vehicle. It was only a few months old so All, was clean and ready to go. We were provided with extra towels on request. As we were away for 3 weeks an extra set of sheets would have been nice.
The vehicle was easy to drive. We had no problems other than the over cab blind becoming fixed shut.
We would recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a reliable motorhome to hire. We have used other companies in the past, who we didn't look at again.

Wonderful experience with Wilderness. Booked the Double for 2 for about 9 nights in October. The team was fast in replying all queries from the start, we booked months in advance and they patiently answered all of my questions. Bridget was very welcoming at the Christchurch outlet, and she attended to us when we dropped off the vehicle as well.

The motorhome itself was spacious, comfortable and rather intuitive. When Bridget explained each component to us, I recorded everything she said - this was important as it’s a lot of information to take in. Do get the VIP insurance, it is pricey but definitely worth the peace of mind. The wifi is necessary too!

Our first campervan experience and really loved it . We are a family of 4 with older children and we booked a king and twin motorhomes . The home is keen and staff is excellent. Support is fantastic whenever we are on the road . Wonderful experience overall .

Had the absolute best time travelling the north island with Wilderness.

We have done several motorhome trips and this was by far the best. From the initial booking stage we were looked after so well. The van itself was amazing! Very new, very clean, easy to drive, easy to operate. Had zero issues.

We were travelling with our 18 month old and loved that we could put her portacot on the back bed and close the door. Meant we could be in the front living area after she went to bed and we didn’t need to all be in bed at 7pm.

Couldn’t recommend wilderness any higher! The best!

We have just returned from our third trip around the South Island with a Wilderness Motorhome and neither of us wanted to leave our cozy and comfortable tiny house on wheels. Having a Motorhome really opens up places you wouldn’t normally discover and allows for the opportunity to stay in some truely beautiful and remote locations. We made the most of every moment although it was the middle of winter and cold/freezing outside we had the best adventures knowing we had a warm home to return to each night (and a great shower!) The motorhome has everything you need to feel at home and is set out in a way that is very liveable. We we away for 6 weeks and never felt like we needed more space.

The staff at Wilderness are also amazing and go out of their way to make your trip easy and to help if any issues arise.

We will be back for a 4th, 5th and 6th trip I’m sure.

Just returned from a 10 day winter break in a ‘double for 4’ motorhome which had ample room for two of us. The van was well equipped, warm and comfortable. The staff in Auckland were most helpful

Having tried other companies, wilderness really went the extra mile to ensure we had a good experience and had everything we needed. Good checkin and pick up. Early follow up phone call to see we didn’t have any issues. We had a couple of minor problems that wilderness staff quickly sorted. Excellent drop off. The van was top notch and we had a great time.

Hired the Compact Plus from Auckland for one week - it is very comfortable, easy to drive and has a clever interior design. Loved the permanent beds which meant no rearranging at night and in the morning. Great customer service. Would definitely recommend Wilderness.

Great customer service. We were able to visit the site a few weeks before our holiday and see through the range of vehicles they had available.
Wilderness provided useful videos to understand and use the various facilities available in their vans. During our trip we had a minor issue with the drain of the sink which they organised a contractor to repair for us.
They also followed up to ensure the repair was completed to our satisfaction.
Overall we had a very positive experience with Wilderness and we would recommend them unconditionally.

Excellent service right from the pick up with Sven. Through the induction at the start of our trip to the drop off at the airport. Camper was clean and well presented. It was a little bit noisy on the country roads due to the pots and oven trays rattling in the cupboards. Great company to deal with .

Just returned from our second trip with Wilderness. Absolutely love their 4 berth campers. Fantastic staff and support. Love how the bed drops out of the ceiling so we didn't have to pack away the bed every day.

Fantastic. The staff were so helpful. We extended our trip whilst we were on the road and they were easy to contact. The campervan was well equipped, easy to operate and drive. I liked the fact that our beds were always made and we also had a nice seating area.

Great service and we loved the pre-pickup video.
Bed was comfortable and we had almost everything we needed (a TV would have been perfect).

We have loved our experience with Wilderness and will rebook.
The vehicle was comfortable, beds very comfy, no mechanical issues, disappointed that our trip was caught short by covid lockdown and look forward to using our credit later.
We did find the heating system tricky to use,but the after hours support very helpful.

Couldn't fault our trip in a Wilderness Motorhome. The vehicle was comfortable and warm. We had heaps of storage for skis, boots, boards and suitcases and used the chains to get us off the beaten track and up to ski Mt Dobson, Ohau and Roundhill. We were able to have lunch in our 'home' each ski day before heading down the mountain to find a campsite for the night. Loved every minute. Will highly recommend and we will be back. Thank you.

Excellent service. Great responsive support in making and managing the booking beforehand, very helpful and flexible making changes. The onboarding video and booklet information were excellent and very useful. Easy fast pickup and dropoff. Super responsive service to any minor problems. Great van, very comfortable for family of four, even in awful weather. Well equipped. Comfortable sleeping. Would be useful to have a chemical for the grey water. We were pleased to find out road user charges are covered by the full insurance. Nice touch. Thank you Wilderness. Very happy with whole experience.

Comfortable, however very noisy and rattly which makes the trip frustrating.
It would have been good to be clearly informed about dump stations close to drop off and have staff trained in being able to provide this information.
Lots of storage space and beds were great.
