Low ball Estimate

White Glove sold me based on their past experience with the specific rules and issues of the hi-rise buildings I was moving from and to. They had complete access to all information, sites and inventory needed to assess my move at the time they gave me a quote. While their quote was higher than 2 other movers, I went with WG due to their "experience in my buildings".

A week before my scheduled move they informed me they did not have the insurance coverage required by my building (even though they had the paperwork needed for 2 months)- a building they had "worked with MANY times". I had to agree to be personally liable for any damages they might cause as it is too late to schedule someone else.

Once completed, they billed me for 20 man hours over the estimate (blaming they had to wait for elevators - a norm for "experienced" hi-rise movers). They billed for supplies that were specifically excluded under the contract. They billed for wardrobes used even though we were told there would be no charge AND they would have been included under the "no supplies" clause. My estimate was $4100 and I was billed $6600 - OVER 60% upcharge.

I understand that an estimate is just an estimate, but a truly experienced mover should be able to estimate better than that.
