My husband and I got Sak Yant tattoos with Ajarn Yod through Where Sidewalks End in March 2026. Our entire Sak Yant experience was smooth and amazing! Our English-speaking guide Nuch was kind, sweet,... See more

Steven was wonderful! He was on time to pick us up (and brought coffee:), and he was a great communicator. He thoroughly explained the process of the sak yant beforehand and during the process. Steven has a kind, gentle and caring demeanor and was very invested in our comfort during the process. As well, he documented the process beautifully and sent photo and video right away. Arjun Thueng was excellent and had a very straightforward but kind demeanor. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time with Victor learning more about ancestral Oaxacan dying and weaving techniques. The experience was intimate and we loved the family we met (and the lunch they made us!). I already want to go back and purchase more items :)

I appreciate the attention to detail and the thorough explanations and communication. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience

This was such an amazing, personal experience. We were given photos and videos at the end of our sakyant experience and our guide was so lovely. She took us to a local spot for lunch afterwards that was exactly what we were hoping for! 10/10 highly recommend!!

It was nice to get a peek at the village and market with guide Laura. We really enjoyed what time we had with Josephina, with Laura acting as translator. Unfortunately, Josephina had to go to a medical appointment and so we did not get the exposure to natural dying that was in the experience description. We enjoyed weaving with the daughter’s assistance, and spending time with the family eating a lunch of soup, tortillas and grilled meat. We had some interesting discussions with Laura in the car that deepened our knowledge of women’s lives in Mexico.

We had the best day at a local palenque learning all about the ancestral process of making mezcal. Our day started with our guide Laura picking us up at our hotel. She was such a great guide and interpreter. Our palenque host family were all so lovely. It was great to be out in the agave fields surrounded by mountains learning what the day to day looks like. Lunch was delicious, as was the mezcal. We came home with 3 bottles!

I wanted to wait to write anything so i could sit with the experience for a bit ✨🙏 This was a beautiful and powerful experience for me start to finish. Where the sidewalk ends (Noi) made it so smooth and authentic. Noi is such a nice guy, charming and chill. perfect at giving the facts and helpful advice, while also translating and creating ceremony. Exactly what i was looking for.
Ajarn Rung is a true master and his modesty speaks volumes. Its such an honor to recieve blessing and protection from Ajarn Rung, and i’m so proud of my new Sak Yant. He’s gentle and wise and helped listen and create a design specifically one of a kind, for me. It was exactly the ceremony i’d hoped for.
Notes for others; This is not a tattoo shop, experience. And i’ve been in a lot of them. You’re visiting an Ajarn, and it feels like oldschool shop. A friends studio.. because it is. You’re visiting a monk in his studio north of town, it’s fast, with great intention, and the bamboo is a unique experience as far as needles go.
I’m so grateful for the entire experiwnce, and the quick lunch in the way out of town was a great treat and a moment to gather oneself. Thank you Thank you for making it easy and such a memorable experience, WSE! To to Ajarn Rung, many blessings to all, thank you for your help ✨🙏

We had a great time. Our translator Ny was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions and explained things to us. As someone who never ever thought about getting a tattoo, we would recommend this to others that are thinking about getting a Sak Yant. The Ajarn Rung was very kind to us and it was quite painless.

We had an amazing experience with WSE Travel Inc. and couldn’t recommend them more. As a couple, getting our Sak Yant tattoos was something very meaningful to us, and the entire process was handled with such care, professionalism, and respect.
Our guide was exceptional with his thorough explanations helped us truly understand the history, symbolism, and spiritual significance behind the tattoos. He made the experience feel incredibly personal, not rushed, and genuinely enjoyable. We always felt comfortable, supported, and well-informed every step of the way.
This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and WSE made it unforgettable. If you’re looking for a well-organized, authentic, and memorable cultural experience, WSE Travel Inc. is the way to go!

This was one of the highlights of our time in Oaxaca! The tour was excellent and so educational. The guides were great and they easily handled our mixed language needs. You won't be disappointed with this tour!

Steven was a great guide. He was so knowledgeable and helped to facilitate the process with Ajarn Ya. It was an extremely memorable experience and one I'll remember forever.

Communication went really easy. We got answers to all our questions, everything got arranged in no time.
Everything goes to plan.
The guide is very helpfull and Arjan Rung is the best. You get what you want but most important you get what is wright for you. Take your time, talk and explain what is your story and you will have an amazing expierience. And its really worth the money. If you don't understand the meaning of a sak yant and you are not open to it. You should not spend the money or put your time into it.

Our guide Mutchalin definitely made this experience unforgettable ❤️
But before that, using the website and having informations to book my Sak Yant tattoo in Chaing Mai with Ajarn Sam was easy and clear.
If I had something so improved that would be the way to find the description of every ajarn and monk. It could be nice to add it on top of the page of the ajarn in question.
From the moment I booked I felt truly listen and nicely guided. Mutchalin (surname Woe) is an amazing person who took the time to understand my thoughts and my wishes. Ajarn Sam was really gentle and understanding.
I definitely recommend WSE for this experience !

We had an amazing day with our guide, Leo in Oaxaca. I thought it would be great to have a guide help us with an overview of Oaxaca and learn some local history. Leo had a great personality, he made our day feel like we were traveling with a friend. I would love to spend time with Leo again and that makes me highly recommend Where Sidewalks End to other travelers.

Last year I had 2 tours with WSE,which were just perfect. However, this time,we had a guide who did not talked to us at all;we had no idea how long are we supposed to stay at the different stops or what are we supposed to do.Also,we were offered no information about the symbolism of marigold for the day of the death-although that was supposed to be the central focus of a trip.Honestly,I could have gotten a taxi to go to a marigold field and take some pics. All of this was quite a pitty;because the tour has potential to be a great one.

We truly enjoyed the experience, our Arjan was wonderful and we were treated to having our Sak Yan't s done at a Wat , which was a very special experience.
but do wish more time had been spent on touring the Wat's as was part of the description for the Sak Yant experience.

This is the second Sak Yant I have done in Chiang Mai and this experience was not as good as the past one. I did not go through any 3rd party tour operator, I did the planning all in my own. I want to make that clear based on the company’s response to this review. We were transported to a very dingy home where we all had to sit outside in their kitchen area for 5 plus hours (since we had a group of 6), then it rained and flooded the area. The interaction with the Arjan was basically nothing - even when my husband told him some pretty heavy information about his life, there was no discussion. The assistant to the Arjan was on Tik Tok the whole time. Then two other people showed up with coffees and talked and were on their phones with volume up, even when the Arjan was doing the blessing. The room we were in was dirty and dark. The actual Sak Yant tattoos were good though and we video'd the blessing and then Googled translated it and it was legit, so we were happy about that. It was unfortunate that it was not as nice & meaningful as my first Sak Yant but Arjan Dej is talented.
