Weflex’s Failure to Submit My PHVL Renewal Has Left Me Without Income

Avoid Weflex if you value honesty, communication, or your income.

I am an existing customer of Weflex and my account has always been fully up to date. My PHVL licence renewal was approaching, so I contacted Weflex well in advance to make sure the process would run smoothly and I wouldn’t lose work.

As instructed by Weflex, I submitted my MOT certificate on time and was told that Weflex would submit my PHVL renewal application immediately.

For weeks I called Weflex for updates and was repeatedly told that the application had already been submitted and was waiting for the council’s response.

Today I discovered the truth: Weflex never submitted the application at all.

The reason given was a DBS issue with one of the Weflex directors — something Weflex never communicated to me at any point.

Now that this issue has apparently been resolved, Weflex is asking me to submit another MOT certificate before they will even start the application process.

Because of Weflex’s failure, poor communication, and misinformation, I am now unable to work and have lost my income.

When I raised the issue, the customer service representative Sneha claimed there were no records of my calls or emails after submitting my MOT certificate, which is simply not true. I have the call logs and records to prove otherwise.

Drivers depend on this work to support their families. Weeks of misleading information from Weflex have now left me without income — a situation that could have been easily avoided if Weflex had communicated honestly from the start.

Drivers considering PHVL licence renewal services with Weflex should be extremely cautious.

This review also serves as a formal complaint to Weflex regarding the mishandling of my PHVL licence renewal application and the loss of income caused by Weflex’s failure to submit the application on time.

I expect a clear explanation from Weflex management, including:
• Why Weflex never informed me about the DBS issue
• Why I was repeatedly told the application had already been submitted
• What Weflex plans to do about the financial loss caused by their mistake

If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will escalate the matter to the relevant licensing authorities and pursue further action.

If your vehicle licence is your livelihood, think very carefully before trusting Weflex with your PHVL renewal.

Weflex has zero tolerance when it comes…

Weflex has zero tolerance when it comes to after-sales customer service. I paid off my car one year early and received all documents and keys without issue. However, I was never informed that I needed to register every year for the electric vehicle congestion charge discount.
Because I was unaware of this requirement, I received a penalty from TfL. When I contacted Weflex to ask why this was not communicated to me, I was told they would look into it and call me back. I followed up more than three times and was repeatedly told I would receive a callback — but no one ever contacted me.
This lack of communication and after-sales support is extremely disappointing. I would not recommend them. There are other rental companies that provide much better customer service before and after the sale.

We would like to clarify a few important points. With regard to the TfL Congestion Charge and electric vehicle discount registration, this is a scheme administered directly by TfL and linked to DVLA registered keeper details. As a TfL driver operating an EV, it is the registered keeper’s responsibility to ensure that any required registrations, renewals, or exemptions are kept up to date in line with TfL and DVLA policies. These requirements sit outside of WeFlex’s contractual obligations, particularly once ownership of the vehicle has been transferred.

We understand that receiving a penalty is frustrating. However, management of congestion charge discounts and compliance with TfL regulations is not something controlled or maintained by WeFlex after settlement.

In relation to your comments about communication, if there was any delay in responding, we apologise for that. If you would like the matter reviewed further, our Head of Customer Experience would be happy to speak with you directly to ensure everything has been fully clarified.
