Definitely SCAM!
I joined the platform yesterday, 06/12/2023, to try to find a professional website designer.

After the Bark platform finished checking my phone number details, I received many WhatsApp messages. Two of those messages claimed to be from Bark, and the other from website designer companies offering their services.

The WhatsApp message from the Bark team using the number (+44 7308658942 and +44 7961559641) was:

"Hi there,

This is *Anna Martin, overseeing Bark's Compliance Department.*

*I can see that you're getting multiple calls and responses through our portal, yes I do understand Bark actually provides you more option to choose*

To ensure the highest level of *security and service quality*, we strongly encourage you to explore the option of *verified companies* for which *we can recommend you our top rated and trusted companies*. Your decision on this is of utmost importance.

Our top trusted companies :

1. *Cloud Designs* - verified and trusted company with quality work history, best for logo and website design.

2. *Web App Verticals* - verified with good portfolio.

3. *Web design space* - verified on our platform.

*Any other company reaching you out is a potiential scam*

*Your prompt attention to this matter is strongly encouraged. We eagerly await your response.*

Then, I received WhatsApp messages from Cloud Designs, Web App Verticals, and Web Design Space).
I noticed that a few things were not quite right, such as:

1. Misspelling words in the messages that claimed to be from the bark. For example, ‘potiential’ instead of ‘potential'.
2. Two companies claimed to be the authors who created one specific website.
3. The Web Design Space claimed to have an office at the address: 2nd Floor Market Building, 72-82 Rosebery Avenue, London, EC1R 4RW. So, I requested an appointment at the office and was told it would not be a problem. When he realised that I was there in front of the address and aware that there were no businesses called Web Design Space in that building, the guy disappeared.

Unfortunately this is a fake website promoting its own group of companies. From what I have had experience with leads people to be able to submit theri reviews however in reality no such reviews can be left leading me to believe that the reviews themself are fake. All the companies seem to be housed in the same building as 1-2-1 and run by Simon McBeth . Personally I would stay far away from anything that is affiliated with him and located in roundhay road

THE MAN BEHIND THIS WEBSITE IS A HUGE SCAM ARTIST. I PAID £6000 AND RECEIVED NOTHING IN RETURN. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF VICTIMS JUST LIKE ME WHO HAVE BEEN SCAMMED BY THE SAME MAN FROM MANY DIFFERENT WEBSITES. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS WEBSITE

Fake review site part of a web design scam. All of the reviewed sites are a scam with fake portfolios and no actual premises. This is all run by the same people so don’t be fooled and stay well clear.

The website was really helpful in finding honest and accurate advice about the best website design groups. The site is very easy to use and informative. The information was very succinct and easy to understand. We are very happy we chose this website to find the right web designers to work with.

Well set out informative easy to use even for a novice like me :)

I found Web Design Review really easy to navigate. The options and links were clear and the things I was interested in were all together.
The design of the site is sleek and modern but nor cluttered or busy.
The way it is written, especially the blog posts, are so easy to read and understand.

WebDesignReview were caught by the Advertising Standards Agency promoting only companies that they are affiliated with or were owned by. They found that the awards were neither impartial or independent and that the Web Design Review Awards were only awarded to companies linked to them.

Great website and very easy to use,
Plenty of information to help you and very well layed out, would recommend!

It doesn’t matter what you want, whether it be 4 pages or 20 with a cart, they always quote £7000-£10000

This may be because they get a commission on the sales they pass on to providers? I’m not sure.

However I sent them a whole variety of ideas ranging from very simple (should cost about £1000) to very intricate and each time the reply was the same; £7000-£10000

What I find most upsetting about this is that they endorse their own honesty on their site.

From start to finish these guys have been fantastic. My website is amazing and their service has been above and beyond. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a great website at a reasonable price.

After receiving a number of quotes we decided to work with webdesignroom.co.uk based in London. Michael Thompson and his team built a lovely website.
