Food menu gone down hill such a shame
As a regular of weatherspoons when I go on holiday this is the 1st place I look for, unfortunately will not be returning as the food menu as gone down hill big time.No more sunday lunches and no more mixed grills or steak dishes all there more interested in is quick ready meals like pizzas and microwave meals the chefs can do quickly such a shame.
Alright but could do better.
I went to Forty Foot in Dun Laoghaire today,it's one of the Weatherspoons Restaurants in Ireland.
They generally use names connected to the local area.
I have eaten there before sometimes as it's fairly local.
Food and prices are generally pretty good but the crowd is always pretty rough, maybe the area.
And Customer Service always very average, never remember it been outstanding anyway.
I noticed ordering at the Bar a lot of the counter was soaking with spilt drink from the pumps.
Easy enough to clean but worse a lot of the tables took ages to clean with Customers gone.
I was there quite a while and dirty plates etc were on some tables far longer than should be.
So for these reasons 3 out of 5 stars for today.

I had the pleasure of being served by Kioni at the Wetherspoons in Canary Wharf, and she was absolutely fantastic. From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with a genuine smile and a welcoming attitude. She was attentive without being intrusive, handled a busy environment effortlessly, and made sure everything with my order was perfect. Her professionalism, friendly personality, and efficiency really stood out, especially in such a fast-paced location. It’s clear she takes pride in her work and cares about the customers’ experience. Wetherspoons is lucky to have her, she turned a simple meal into a genuinely enjoyable visit.
Feedback on Wetherspoons
Feedback on Wetherspoons, Riding Street, Northampton
As a long-time customer and observer, I feel compelled to share my experience at the Wetherspoons branch on Riding Street in Northampton. While I appreciate the brand and its value nationwide, this particular location has consistently fallen short in several key areas of hospitality and professionalism.
🚫 Staff Conduct
Some staff members, particularly those who’ve been employed for many years, behave as though they’re above accountability. Their attitude toward customers can be dismissive, rude, and loud. Degrading and Insulting.
During service hours, staff can be heard openly discussing personal matters—weekend plans, private conversations, and even using inappropriate language—within earshot of diners. This creates a disruptive and uncomfortable atmosphere.
On occasion, staff sit among paying customers during breakfast hours, in groups of 2 to 4 having their own breakfast time line turning the space into a loud social gathering rather than a place of calm and hospitality. Disturbing the peace of paying customers - they dont care at all.
🍽️ Cleanliness & Food Quality
Cutlery, glasses, and plates are often visibly dirty or poorly washed.
Seating areas are unhygienic, with noticeable smells and stains that suggest years of neglect.
Food quality is inconsistent—some meals arrive undercooked, and portion sizes (especially chips) are disproportionately small for the price.
🗣️ Customer Service
When customers raise concerns, staff often ignore them or respond with indifference. In aggressive tone, with hostile facial expression . They have no right to treat paying customers like this and it makes my blood boil !
There’s a lack of basic courtesy and attentiveness, which undermines the customer experience and the reputation of the Wetherspoons brand.
⭐ Real Experience at Wetherspoons, Riding Street, Northampton I’ve always appreciated the Wetherspoons brand, but this branch consistently disappoints. Staff are loud, rude, and openly discuss personal matters in front of customers. Cleanliness is poor—dirty cutlery, smelly seats, and undercooked food. Complaints are ignored, and customer service is lacking.
Wetherspoons needs to address these issues urgently. Paying customers deserve better. This is my lived experience—if you’ve had similar, please share it. Together we can push for change.
I’ve read similar complaints from others across the UK, and I believe it’s time for management to take these issues seriously—internally review staff behaviour, improve hygiene standards, and restore the level of service that customers expect and deserve.
This is my honest, lived experience. Has anyone else had similar issues at the Riding Street location?

Myself and around 200 + veterans…
Myself and around 200 + veterans attended the Gatekeeper weatherspoons on Wesgate street Cardiff as we do on the last saturday of every July every year. On this occasion a good friend of mine who is a disabled veteran who also has the aid of a walking stick was physically pushed about by one of your doormen, this paticular doorman was also mouthing off that he is an ex member of the parachute regiment so it should`nt be difficult for you to know who he is. His actions towards us veterans was totally out of order. This all started as it was very busy and he was shoving people about outside pushing them back to behind the barrier when there was no need whatsoever, he then proceeded to continue to look at us in an aggressive manner which was intimidating. This does not look good for Weatherspoons image, agressive doormen/persons pushing veterans around, the very veterans that hat fought for this country. You need to address this urgently and who yiou employ as door persons. A report has also gone into our local councillor. Absolute disgrace of an establishment.
No stars for weatherspoons st.Johns
No stars for weatherspoons st.Johns, Liverpool! Customer service is awful, ordered two brandy and coke and pint of Coors , bar gave us 2 brandy and coke and pint of coke and insisted we pay for the coke because he had pulled it! When we refused to pay for pint of coke as they had got wrong order we were labled RUDE and refused to serve us again! Absolutely awful!
They sell good full english
the quality of weatherspoons pubs differs wherever you go
There are comparable experiences that i have had at various weatherspoons pubs, but the two i am going to mention are the reeds arms at burnham on sea and the perkin warbeck taunton in somerset.
i have a holiday home in somerset and my local is the reeds arms at burnham where we go every other week for fish and chips, we started using the reeds arms because the local chippy`s are very expensive with poor quality food. our experience at the reeds arms is very good as you get a decent piece of fish in a nice crispy batter and a good portion of chips, the staff are very efficient and the food arrives in a few minutes, so overall the reeds arms at burnham on sea is a good one.
the other one is the perkin warbeck at taunton and that is the complete opposite as we have used it twice and never again, we ordered fish and chips there as we were shopping in taunton high street and the food and service was poor, firstly we were waiting to sit at a clean table and the lady who was clearing tables walked past us and ignored us so i grabbed a couple of serviettes and some vinegar and cleaned the table myself, when the food arrived the fish had been cut very thin and because the batter was quite thick the fish was overcooked and dry, the chips were slightly under cooked and hard and so the meal was awful.
so basically i would give 5 stars to the reeds arms but 1 star to the perkin warbeck, so weatherspoons my question to you is why is it the luck of the draw if you get a good one or a bad one? should they not be all the same standard?
Fuming
Fuming. Only good thing about spoons was the value of the great mixed grill and now its gone! First and last time I eat here with their new burger menu.
Absolutely shocked that mixed grill and…
Absolutely shocked that mixed grill and steaks have been removed from the menu these were the only meals I will eat at a pub so had to leave and will not be going again. Thankfully beefeater still do these meals so will be going there from now on.

Very good value always
Very good value always. 4.30 for a classic cocktail. Just having a traditional breakfast very good value. Cant beat it.
Rude staff service
Food server witch was a male was just so bloody rude should be told to get out and not be allowed any job serving to public again especially when customers are allergic to certain items that was put on the plate when requested not to then he went off and got a female to come over then when she walked off she said a very disrespectful and racist word that I 10000% heard so I will be taking this higher
Staff should get out if that’s how they gonna talk to customers.

Man in the Moon,Newport,Isle of Wight.
Went to this Weatherspoons Man in the Moon,Newport,Isle of Wight on Father’s Day to have breakfast with my Son and our partners and kids, ordered what we wanted to eat and drink, the mugs were bought to our table and were filthy,we asked for clean mugs and were ignored completely,so I had to take my disabled self back down stairs and get them myself. We weren’t told the machine upstairs didn’t work so then had to go back downstairs to get our mugs of tea,on the way back up the narrow stairs one of the staff members nearly knocked my partner over with her hot tea in her hand as he couldn’t wait 2 secs to let her up the stairs and didn’t even apologise when my partner said something,he just gave her a dirty look as he walked off. The staff walk around with such grumpy looks on there faces aswell,we shall be avoiding this place from now on for sure.
Abingdon Weatherspoons
Abingdon Weather spoons, the Narrows.
Frequently go to WS but lately it seems to be falling apart. Coffee machines are always breaking down, floor in front of the coffee machines is always sticky (really sticky!) and needs a good clean, and lately orders take forever to arrive. Last week we had to wait 50 minutes for a sandwich to arrive, and no one says anything about delays. Today the place was filthy with used coffee cups all over the place, spills around the coffee machines that never got cleaned up (we were there for an hour) tables never cleaned and we had to go and get someone to clean ours before we ordered. None of the employees would pick up used plates, cups, dishes etc. from the tables which is just laziness. Area behind the counter was full of litter and spills. Order took 20 minutes and was cold and breakfast muffin wasn't toasted. Don't know if a manager was on site or not but this is disgraceful. Pictures available on request.

Thursday teatime curry night option.
I went to my local weatherspoons for tea with my family of which included me .
We ordered 3 madras curries and I asked for the new dragon curry.
The 3 madras curries arrived full bowls and worth the money,
My Dragon curry arrived well barely 2 table spoons was all that was in the bowl .
I called an assistant over and asked why my meal was so skinny he said it’s the new menu that’s all you get .
Is this how weatherspoons measure there portions.
It’s a thing everyone needs to complain about.
In summary I went to my weatherspoons hungry and came out looking for chippy to fill me up .
Don’t by the dragon curry if your hungry
It’s a light snack at best but they charge a full meal price
Good but good but..
Good burger good good,
Enboyed very much
