Watatunga

My wife, daughter, four granddaughters and myself visited this "safari park" today.
Having grown up in the eras of Woburn Abbey and Windsor Safari Parks, I thought it may be good to visit. Upon arrival, you could see it it completly different, no queues going for what seemed like miles. We were signed in, by Tracy, in the hut and taken to an opened sided passenger trailer, being pulled by a 2 person vehicle. Everyone was advised to duck getting into the trailer by our guide Karen Hunt, as I am 6ft 2, the warning was heeded. We started off told to keep our arms in until we had gone through an underpass. Once through it was minutes until the first of the animals were seen, Karen stopped and gave a talk about what we could see. It seemed every couple of hundred metres we stopped and photographed and had a talk. All in all a very interesting tour/safari, lots of animals lots of information. Don't expect lions, primates or giraffes etc, its not that type of park.
But it was still an excellent experience, and we all enjoyed it. Safari tour lasted 1½hours approximately.

Fantastic experience

Didn’t know what to expect but what a fantastic experience, guide was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure we didn’t miss anything. But in addition he explained how each animal behaves and what to look for when touring on our own.
Would thoroughly recommend a visit, one of Norfolk’s hidden gems.

Brilliant tour with great guild

Brilliant tour with great guild, Charlie who stopped regularly for talks about the animals as we came across them. She has a great sense of humour and knew the animals very well.
The space available to the animals is amazing as they are free roaming over the site which is beautiful with plenty of native plants.

Fancy a stunning evening out?

Staff amazing, friendly & knowledgable. We did a twilight tour in an evening, and it was beautiful, relaxing and engaging. The buggy tours are so fun and we all thoroughly enjoyed. Staff helpful, site well-maintained. Facilities clean. Wheelchair & child friendly.

Disappointing booking process

Very disappointed by the booking process. Purchased a Virgin Experience voucher and tried to book a visit. I was told I could not book my chosen day and they provided a long list of exclusions hidden away in the terms and conditions. It's beyond me why companies have to make things so complicated.

I offered to pay the difference between the Virgin cost and their usual price to make the booking as I am not local and am only on the area on my chosen day. Sadly now no response from Watatunga.

This is a very disappointing experience from a company that seems to have great reviews elsewhere.

Now I am a significant cost down as the Virgin voucher I purchased is seemingly unusable. It's a shame Watatunga couldn't have been more understanding about the problem (they caused).

The whole experience was brilliant we…

The whole experience was brilliant we got to see all the wildlife in their habitats and we even got to see the new baby deer that the rangers hadn't even seen, it was brilliant the tour guide was very informative and definitely knew all about each animal and you could definitely tell she loved her job which made the whole experience so much better.
