I submitted a cancellation request for my Vultr account on July 6, 2026 (Ticket GHZ-84FQE). Despite my explicit request to close the account, Vultr's automated billing system continued attempting to charge my account 6+ times over the next 9 days, resulting in account suspension.
Key Issues:
1. NO SELF-SERVICE CANCELLATION: There is no option in the dashboard to delete an account or remove payment methods. You must rely on support, which can be slow or unresponsive.
2. CONTINUED BILLING AFTER CANCELLATION REQUEST: Their automated system sent multiple "Autopay failed" emails - proving they continued payment retry attempts AFTER my cancellation request. This is a critical failure.
3. UNRESOLVED SUPPORT TICKET: For 9 days, my cancellation request was not actually processed. Support provided generic deletion instructions but did not close the account. They made it unclear if I needed to pay the balance first.
4. POOR ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT: The account is now suspended, but cancellation is still pending. This should never happen - cancellation requests should immediately stop automated charges.
If you use Vultr and ever want to leave, be prepared for a frustrating experience. The service itself works, but their customer support and account management processes need serious improvement.

Everyone talking bad about vultr but it's actually better than most big providers like GCP, AWS, Azure prices are competitive and support is really good they have never let me down with any issues or questions i had. BGP is free which is amazing but for my usage case vultr caps some protocols like gre, wireguard to 200mbps speed. Overall it's a great cloud provider but with it's downsides

The services is not reliable and the customer support is absolutely useless.
I'm more than one year with them. I opened 4 support ticket and in the 4 of them they find the way to tell me this is not their problem and I have to figure out how to solve it.
In the last case, it is literally making me to lose a significant amount of money.
Leaving them, for sure...

The whole experience looked like a scam to me. I signed up and paid for the first month. Then my account was blocked. When I contacted the customer support I received the following response "Due to abuse to our services we are not able to open this account.". By that time I logged in to my account 3 times. Also, they promised to refund my first month. As you probably guessed they did not. When I contacted them about that, they told me that they did, told me to take it with my bank, closed the ticked and stoped responding to my emails.
Stay far – far away.

I had a very disappointing experience with Vultr.
The company advertised a $250 bonus credit to test their services after making a deposit. I deposited $10 as requested, and my account balance showed $260 including the promotional credit.
However, when I tried to deploy an instance, I was suddenly informed that I needed to complete additional verification or make a total deposit of $50 before I could actually use the service. This requirement was not made clear before the initial deposit was made.
After contacting support, they refused to waive the additional deposit requirement and insisted that I had to deposit more money. I then requested a refund, but I received no proper response and no refund was processed.
Shortly after that, my login stopped working entirely. I could no longer access my account, and password recovery emails were never delivered despite multiple attempts.
Overall, the entire experience felt extremely misleading and untrustworthy. The promotional offer appears designed to attract deposits first, only to introduce additional undisclosed requirements afterward.
I would strongly advise potential customers to be cautious before depositing money with this company. Transparency, communication, and customer handling were very poor in my experience.
I registered on this platform with the sole objective of provisioning a specific high-performance bare-metal configuration (vbm-8c-64gb-amd), valued at roughly $400/month. At no point during registration it was stated that this hardware was gated behind an arbitrary 30-day probationary period.
Instead, it's a multi-stage financial extraction process: first demanding a $5 card-linking deposit, then demanding a secondary $50 deposit to unlock instance creation, only to completely block the deployment with a "Monthly Fee Limit Reached" error after they had already secured my funds.
To add to this administrative incompetence, the support team demanded proprietary project descriptions, provided broken links to non-existent pages, and ultimately told me I must spend an additional $250 on completely unneeded services over the next 30 days just to "earn" the right to rent the hardware I signed up for in the first place.
Treating a customer who arrives with a $4,800 annual contract and then offering an account deletion link as a "solution"—is an embarrassing failure of customer acquisition and basic support etiquette.

I have never experienced such a poor level of customer support from a cloud provider.
Vultr suddenly suspended my account for KYC verification and immediately blocked access to my infrastructure and data. While I understand that verification procedures may be required, what is completely unacceptable is locking customers out of their services and then providing virtually no communication or assistance.
For more than 8 hours, I received no meaningful response. My tickets were answered with generic copy-paste messages telling me not to create duplicate tickets instead of providing actual information, an estimated resolution time, or any indication that someone was actively working on the issue.
At the time of suspension, my servers contained active business data and production services. Being unable to access my own infrastructure while support remains silent is an unacceptable risk for any company.
The most frustrating part is not even the verification itself—it's the complete lack of transparency. There was no clear explanation of what was being reviewed, how long it would take, what was missing, or when I could expect access to be restored.
Cloud providers are trusted with critical systems. When a provider can suspend an account without warning, lock access to customer data, and then leave customers waiting for hours with only automated responses, that trust disappears very quickly.
Based on my experience, I would strongly advise businesses to think carefully before hosting critical workloads on Vultr. If something goes wrong, you may find yourself locked out of your own infrastructure with no meaningful support when you need it most.
Extremely disappointed. I expected professional service from a cloud provider. What I received was silence, uncertainty, and complete disruption of my operations.

300 Credits was not reflected in my bill, They suspend all services, when I add credit card, it charged me 500 dollars without explanation.

Tried to rent GPUs, they told me I need to deposit, so I deposited $1000. Then they told me I still can't rent GPUs and I need to wait 60 days. Additionally, I can not even spend on regular compute except for a few $5/month nodes! So now they have my money and won't allow me to spend it on any services.
Update: After continually demanding Vultr allow the deposit to at least be spent on non-GPU compute, they agreed to increase the account limits. While I still have no access to GPUs which was the purpose of the deposit, the funds are now at least spendable on other services.

I have used them for a number of projects and they have been reliable thus far. They respond quickly to support tickets and I have never had any issues I could not resolve. The uptime is good and price point works. I am certainly happy with them so far.

We used Vultr based on a recommendation, especially because they offered a $300 trial credit.
Unfortunately, after about one week of use, our service was suspended without giving us proper access to our data. The $300 credit, which was supposed to be usable during the trial period, was also removed from our account.
This experience made the trial feel misleading, and the lack of access to our data is very concerning for any business relying on hosting services.
In our opinion, Vultr is not reliable and cannot be trusted for serious projects. We regret not reading more customer feedback before using them.
Avoid.

I imagined the service quality had improved, but that hasn't happened, as the same problems from years ago still persist.
Unfortunately, this morning the server restarted itself without warning, causing financial losses.
Based on what happened, my impression is that it's a cheap VPS service, but without the reliability needed for those who require stable online applications and services.
I don't recommend it for professional use or for those who depend on constant availability; the server can simply restart itself and leave your applications offline without any warning! This is very common there.

Worst experience with Vultr, although no issues with server hosting and services, but their customer service is pathetic, unhelpful, painfully slow and non-existent. Please avoid if you frequently require support services as you can't expect that to be provided by Vultr.

Vultr is owned by Vultures who assess unsolicited charges against customers including humble High School teachers.
I am a HS teacher whose students were looking for a service to run their machine learning model. Students logged into Vultr to learn more, but found Vultrs products too convoluted for them to use. Students NEVER ran their model on Vultr.
However Vultr continually assesses charges to this humble teacher months after the students logged into Vultr to learn more. Customer service consists of unhelpful automated emails.
Assessing unwanted and unsolicited charges against a humble teacher and his class (who simply wanted more information on Vultr) is pretty low even for the Vultures at Vultr.

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
Avoid Vultr!
SAFV: STAY AWAY FROM VULTR!
- They arbitrarily limit your usage under the same pretext: "Your usage affects other people's resources," even if you chose the plan with dedicated resources!
- They cancel your promotional credit without warning!
- They overcharge you for mediocre service with no possibility of review or consideration of the poor quality of their service.
- Even after exchanging tons of messages with their customers service team, you won't get any refund for the mediocre service/high fees you have been charged for...So don't waste your time with them!
In short, if you don't want to feel victim and see your hard-earned money flying away… AVOID VULTR!

Setting up the servers is easy; however, getting support to reply to a ticket without them jerking you around is why they rate a 1. "Craig" kept asking for information he should have been able to look up. He wasted a full day of him asking for things already given to him or could have looked up. He wasted days with nonsense.

Stop charging me! what you do? no place to cancel anything, no support! STOP!

I have had a nightmare experience with Vultr. Everything worked perfectly until I requested a BGP session. Immediately after, they artificially throttled my download speed to ~200-250 Mbps while leaving my upload speed at full capacity (approx. 1 Gbps).
This is the second time this happens. The first time, they eventually admitted it was a configuration error on their end and "fixed" it. Now, the exact same issue has returned following their BGP setup, and they are completely ignoring my support tickets.
It is clear that their infrastructure or their support team has a recurring problem with BGP configurations, and they refuse to take responsibility for it. They are perfectly happy to charge me for a high-performance service that they are actively limiting without any justification.
If you rely on your network speed for your business or critical services, look elsewhere. Vultr’s support is non-existent when they make mistakes, and they have no problem throttling your bandwidth to hide their own technical incompetence.
Avoid them if you value your time and service stability.
