I was one of the first Vonage customers and loved them. I took Vonage to 4 different states in 14 years. You can use it anywhere, motels, hotels, anywhere you get Wi-Fi. I moved 6 months ago to Colorado and couldn't get Wi-Fi in the mountains. I finally called them regrettably having to cancel my 14 year plus account. No problem, they canceled me and were refunding my last payment. BUT NO!!!!! I JUST GOT CHARGED AGAIN!!!!! I called immediately and after being transferred 3 times talking to morons who don't speak English i was told there was no record of calling them. One: Was not getting my refund. Two: They were charging me for this month even though it was 2 days into the month. Three: They claimed there was no record I called.
After being transferred again 3 times from one idiot to the next I finally spoke with someone who had a ounce of sense. She didn't want to do anything until I threatened to go on Facebook and Twitter to my thousands of followers and tell them how Vonage has sunk to a third world company. They didn't give me my previous month autopay back as previously promised but did reverse the current monthly charges. I do not recommend Vonage anymore. They have become useless.

Porting BEWARE. The actual process of porting was easy. Only problem is that it does not work. With the Vonage number it was fine but after porting it would not work and refused to work despite lots of phone calls to Internet provider and Vonage. Don't do it.
UPDATE. Finally solved when I spoke to the right person. It seems my number was not associated? with the Vonage system. This was not part of the Technical Support person's standard list of fixes such as switching DMZ on, and Port Fowarding. The supervisor took 2 minutes to correct the problem, and said procedure will be updated.
Phone working well now. At least contacting Technical support was easy and everyone was patient and did their best to help.

Have had Vonage for five years and the price has more than doubled. Since everyone I know and all my accounts have this number, I decided to port my Vonage number to a mobile provider for more features and less cost.

Vonage is refusing to give a FOC (Firm Order Commitment) for my number to go to the new carrier. After three weeks of nonsense; giving me the runaround with scripted non-answers in heavy Urdu accented English; a broken chat button on my login page; a cancellation number 866-243-4357 that is "invalid"; and six broken promises to respond to me by email. I am done with this company holding my number hostage,

I filed a complaint with the FCC today.

You can always distinguish an incompetent from a criminal by the way their "bungling" always lands in their favor and not yours.

I'm still on hold trying to cancel my account. He keeps delaying, and making it sound like its some great bargain. Still on hold keeps telling me... incredibly sneaky, wants to take advantage of me, they keep charging for Vonage to my bank account, but I haven't used it in over 18 months!
