Hi everyone — wondering if others are having this same experience with Voice123.

I recently renewed my membership for almost a thousand dollars. Then I got one of those Voice123 emails listing “projects that matched your profile.” Sounded great. But when I checked my dashboard, none of those jobs were actually available for me to audition for.

When I asked support about it, I was told those projects go first to higher-tier members and people with higher ranking scores. If the job gets filled in that first wave, folks like me never even see it.

They told me to raise my ranking score — but how can I, if I’m not even being invited to audition? It feels like a closed loop: fewer invitations, fewer auditions, less engagement, and then fewer invites again. Not exactly the open, merit-based system I signed up for.

Just wondering if other working voice actors are seeing this too. Have you found a way to break through it? Or are you shifting focus elsewhere?

Voice 123 was my primary source of paid work up until 2024, delivering good quality "matched" jobs.
Something dramatic has changed since then. Once I upgraded to a $2000+ annual membership, I started to notice that clients I used to work for were rarely appearing in my invites, quantity and quality was low and work dropped off by 75%. Clearly something not right anymore and despite sending plenty of "feedback" over the years, nothing seems to change. It`s a shame but now most of my work comes from other pay to play sites which are much cheaper and have equally good service. Sadly, I can no longer recommend as I could a few years ago.

I've been using Voice123 on and off for nearly 20 years. In the early days, I landed consistent, quality work and felt the platform delivered real value. That no longer seems to be the case.

Since upgrading to a Pro membership in February, 2025, I’ve submitted to about 150 projects — and haven’t booked a single paid job. I maintain a strong profile, deliver professional audio, and follow best practices. Still, nothing. That’s not just unlucky — that’s a systemic issue.

The platform’s marketing strongly suggests that paid members will get hired:

But in practice, opportunities feel far less accessible than advertised. It's hard not to wonder: Are castings even real? Is rate undercutting rampant? Is competition so bloated that newer or even mid-career talent have no chance?

I reached out directly to Voice123 support with fair, data-driven questions about success rates, bookings by tier, and platform transparency. I received no reply.

At this point, the platform feels more predatory than professional, especially considering the high subscription cost and vague success metrics. I’d caution any voice actor — new or experienced — to think twice before investing money here. I suspect I’m far from the only one with this experience.

My request was taken care of very quickly and on the weekend.

The challenge I had was due to the majority of audition requests were sent after midnight and had deadlines of 8-9 hours which required that I apply during midnight to dawn hours or not be in time to meet deadlines. I have auditioned to hundreds of requests and this is the only company that I have not had one auditioned honored.
The Voice123 Team said, if you increase your membership to a higher dollar amount I would have a better chance of being successful. This occurred throughout the time I have had my membership to no avail.

As a full time voiceover artist, I've been using Voice123 to find leads and projects for years. It has turned into some of my best and longest running repeat clients, as well.
Every time there is an issue, the support team is seriously outstanding, and reply quickly to resolve any questions or problems.
If you're a voiceover artist, and looking to get more daily auditions and leads - this is a GREAT tool.

Been with V123 for many years - it is one of best places to connect with buyers and build your VO business. The support team is great and they work with you to get your profile ranking up and demos organized. V123 has changed my life. I love the company, the team and the clients that come through there. Every job is handpicked and selected based on your profile ranking and details. If you stay with their recommendations - you will do great. Expect ups and downs. The business is changing - and we have to adapt. V123 will allow you build the business directly. Great place for practice for new VO talent.

Voice123 has been my go-to platform for voiceover auditions. There is a huge amount of work to be found here, and the connections made through this platform have served my VO career very well! The growth I've had from this platform alone has been amazing!

Beyond the great connections, the service/support aspect is also wonderful. If there is ever anything I need assistance with, there is always a warm, friendly service rep corresponding with me in a very timely manner. All of them have been eager to help me, in whatever I've needed, every step of the way.

This is a highly recommended platform with a great reputation, that also strives to ensure they work in an eithical manner, ensuring that voice actors are treated and compensated fairly for their work!

V123 is my main source for finding new voice buyers.
I have interviewed every new customer over the past 8years, and they are increasingly relying on sites (like V123) to source their voiceover needs. (seems all the production people are growing weary of the always increasing emails from vo talent trying to get on their rosters)
Since V123 wants the talents and buyers to connect, it makes the process far easier for both parties. Their customer service teams are VERY good and are very dedicated to their talent's success. I recommend V123 to all my voiceover students as well.

I like the fact that they bring us great opportunities for voiceover work. Im happy we have the freedom to accept or decline auditions without penalty. I love the fact that V123 lets us connect directly with clients if we chose to do so, with the option to pay easily through the platform or direct invoices also. V123 is a wonderful bridge to clients, without gatekeeping like other platforms, that I have created wonderful client relationships and repeat work with.

They are always willing to assist you to ensure that you are successful on their platform ... and I love the way that they connect me with a client. I get to do all the talking and therefore it is me building a relationship, which will in turn grow my business. I would recommend Voice 123 to EVERY voiceover artist. They have several tiers to choose from that will fit your budget. Check them out ... you won't regret it!!!!

Amazing platform! I have been using it for over a decade, and it has helped me gain new clients, interface directly with my clients, and build my VoiceOver career. Voice123 is one of the few online VoiceOver marketplaces left which DOES NOT charge a platform fee or site commission. It's a great company run by great people. I would not be where I am today in my career without them.

So here’s the biggest issue. Most of the auditions come in around 3am Pacific Time. So, if you’re on the west coast by the time your eyes open, the audition is closed. Because of this, I feel like I was robbed, literally. These guys need to be shut down. It would have been nice if they were honest upfront.

Awful experience,
I signed up using a discount code.
Went through my PayPal account, forgot to change the card on there, and it charged the wrong one, so I reached out to voices 123 to ask them to refund so I can put the membership on another card, they said no, so after that didn’t feel good about doing business with them so I called them and got voicemail, left them a message that I didn’t want to do business with them. I get an email back saying I can not get a refund?! On there website it states if your not satisfied with them that you can get a refund during the first thirty days. I emailed them that and they emailed back stating because I purchased the membership through a discount I could not get a refund. I tried to delete my information on my page on their website, and it would not allow me to do it, also there was no way for me to delete my account.
Taking the case to my bank and hopefully can get a refund through them.

Update was able to get a refund, lessons learned read the fine print

This is the worst pay-to-play voiceover website out there. Here's why: The Voiceover talent who pay $5k a year to be 'platinum' members have a tremendous advantage over everyone else. They are the first to receive auditions, so if a client elects to receive 50 total auditions, the platinum talent get to audition first. After they all audition for it, it then matriculates down the todem pole. The $2250 tier, then the $888 tier, and so on. So it's unlikely a client won't book someone off the first 40 auditions, thus making it extremely difficult for any other tier to book. Also in order to stay in the top 10% of bookers, the platinum members create fake jobs for each other, so they can 'like' each others' auditions and completely manipulate the algorithm. It's a complete circle jerk with all the platinum members working with each other. V123 does nothing about this because they need those $5k a year members. Their support staff are also extremely inept at assisting anyone other than the platinum tier members. Would not recommend you give this site any money!
