Highly recommend - a short story....

Having noticed some issues with our conservatory which had been built by the previous owner of our house, we contacted a number of people for advice, including the original contractors. Some were useless, whilst others were of varying levels of assistance. None left me feeling reassured that the problem had been thoroughly investigated - I felt that they were simply quoting for the work that they wanted to do.

As soon as I contacted Richard at Vivaldi, I felt he was speaking my language. For a sensible fee, he spent several hours investigating the symptoms: carrying out a visual inspection, removing trim to look at fixings, taking measurements, digging a test hole to check foundations and taking a soil sample. We then received a detailed report and agreed on the best course of action.

Richard then arranged for the installation team to visit to carry out further checks and measurements to make sure exactly the right materials were ordered - this gave us another level of reassurance.

The installation team arrived to carry out the work (after exactly the 5 weeks that Richard had advised was the current lead time), and were terrific. They were thorough and meticulous, kept us informed on progress, and completed the work with a minimum of fuss.

It turned out that the conservatory had originally been built by a company that simply wasn't competent, something that was confirmed by our attempts to discuss the problems with them. Vivaldi effectively dismantled the conservatory, fitted it back together properly, with everything level and square, installed a new roof, and left us feeling that we now have a building that we can trust, installed by a company that know what they're doing.

Whilst the construction of the Orangery framework was expertly undertaken by the very personable Kevin and Andy, we have had rising damp from the foundations (which had to be corrected as they were laid badly) for more than a year.
Reporting this problem to company owner Richard Turner last year was met with the most unpleasant and odious verbal assault I have ever experienced.
He became immediatley defensive, blaming the damp on various scenerios, without even seeing it.
When he did come to visit, he left promising to sort it all out, even if it meant rebuilding the side wall.
However, after several weeks of waiting he responded to my prompt email to say he was only prepared to send a guy over to lower the earth along that wall, a solution we were not satisfied with as it would not have solved the problem of rising damp. (A conclusion we have since had confirmed by a surveyor).
I then asked him for a receipt of payment and our insurance papers which he had not sent to us, but he said although their records show they had sent it, they would send another copy.
After sending numerous emails requested the receipt over the past few months, they have not responded.
The Orangery cost us £46,000, we are left with the damp problem and no receipt and no insurance papers which we find totally unacceptable.

Our project (an affordable orangery) was a long time coming but well worth the wait.
Every aspect of the work was carried out by skilled tradespeople who not only knew their craft but actually took a pride in their work.
The end result is an extension to our property which has exceeded even our highest expectations.

We spoke to several companies before deciding to proceed with Vivaldi Construction to design and build our new conservatory. Whilst Vivaldi did not quote the lowest price, their proposed design was significantly better than their competitors.

They took down our old conservatory, undertook the groundwork and built the new conservatory, in a very professional manner. All the staff who worked on the project were superb, in particular, Will and Rich who were responsible for the foundation and brickwork, and Kevin and Andy who built the conservatory.

We are delighted with our new building and would thank all at Vivaldi for all their help and advice.

We would highly recommend Vivaldi to potential customers.
