The kit was small and cheap and…

The kit was small and cheap and extremely difficult to get my blood into, the finger prick was fine but the tube provided is so small that the blood would not drop into it and blood bubbles would form in the small area provided. A larger tube would ensure that blood collection is easier for any individual using the kit. Had to get help from a family member and even then we both struggled.

The collection tubes supplied are industry-standard microtainers, which are widely used across home testing providers and are specifically designed to fit directly into laboratory analysers and processing equipment. Their smaller size is intentional, as only a relatively small sample volume is required for testing.

That said, we do understand that some customers can find capillary blood collection challenging, particularly when trying to guide blood into a narrow opening. We do also offer venous collection services for people who prefer this.

Three weeks of waiting, missing results, and an unexpected £199 additional test

I had a really frustrating experience with Vitall. I'm currently on HRT, and to continue my treatment, I needed to get certain blood levels checked: urea and electrolytes (including potassium), testosterone, and estradiol. I was referred to Vitall and GenderGP pointed out to buy the "GenderGP Complete Health" and "GenderGP Hormones & Liver" kits, which were supposed to cover everything I needed.

After ordering the kit, I waited a whole week—nothing arrived. I contacted support, and they said the system hadn't processed my request properly, but after that the kit is now on its way. Then second week passed. Still nothing. By the third week, still no kit.

When I followed up again, and it seemed the kit had gotten lost somewhere in transit by post. So I decided to pay for at-home blood draw service instead, where a clinician comes to you, takes your blood, and sends off the tests.

That part actually went smoothly—the clinician was professional. But when I got my results back, the potassium levels were missing. I asked customer service about it, and they told me I'd need to buy an additional test: "Kidney Function Home Test Kit for £199.00", on top of already spent £236,98 + £79.00

Overall, my experience was really upsetting.
Would I say the company is bad? No.

In my opinion, this unlucky experience for both me and Vitall is an opportunity to improve their service.

First of all, it would be great if Vitall could provide full tests for people on HRT and sell them as a single kit (Urea, Electrolytes including Potassium, testosterone, estradiol and maybe some extra) . That would not only make testing easier but, with a reasonable price, could also be beneficial for the company itself, as many people will start purchasing it.

Also, it would be great if Vitall could organise home test kit pick‑up in big cities. Personally, I wouldn't mind going to drop off the test myself.

We are sorry this was a frustrating experience.

In terms of delivery, when kits are lost in transit we arrange replacements, as we did in this case. Unfortunately both of your kits were returned to us by the Ryal Mail, after delivery was attempted, and they had not been collected from your sorting office.


In relation to the testing, since your order followed a referral from a partner, and they processed the transaction, then if the incorrect tests were recommended please raise this with them.

Vitall can only process the panels that are actually ordered. The biomarkers included in each test are listed on the product page, and potassium / full urea and electrolytes are not included in the tests your ordered. Those require a different test pathway as we explained.

Serious inconsistencies.

First test: Clear, concise, happy with the results.
Second test: Oestrogen levels were "dangerously" high. Contamination was quite possible so I gave them a benefit of the doubt.
Third test: Again, oestrogen levels were "dangerously" high. Absolutely no chance of contamination. No use of HRT for 1+ week, I washed THOROUGHLY and took the test in a sterilised environment. I now take my tests via veinous blood draw at my GP. Waste of £180. I wouldn't trust them with a circus peanut.

All samples are analysed within a UKAS-accredited laboratory and results are only released once they pass strict analytical quality checks. This means the result is accurate for the sample that was received.

With oestrogen testing, even very small amounts of external hormone can significantly affect a capillary sample. This includes transfer from skin, surfaces, or residual exposure following recent use of HRT. These effects can persist beyond a few days and are a recognised limitation of finger-prick sampling for certain hormones.

We do provide guidance at the point of ordering how to minimise the risk of contamination, including advice around timing, handling, and avoiding contact with hormone products prior to sampling.

Where results are repeatedly elevated and not consistent with expectations, the most reliable way to confirm levels is through a venous blood draw. This removes many of the variables associated with capillary collection and is why it is often recommended in these situations.

Excellent service

This was the first time I had used Vitall and I was very impressed with the service I received. From the ordering of my blood test through to delivery and results, I was kept informed at every stage of the process . I would recommend this company.

Quick result, easy and efficient process. Top marks

The test was easy to book and the nurse came in the time window provided. It was helpful to have a half hour time slot provided on the day. She was very competent and dealt with everything, even kindly offering to post off the test for me. I received the e mail with the test result the next day - which was very quick. It all couldn't have been easier or more efficient. And given how hard it is to get a measure of insulin resistance, very grateful to Vitall for providing the test.

I'm sorry you were disappointed with the service your received. Your report was published last week so I hope you were satisfied with the final results. Regarding customer support, we did respond to all of your emails?

Unlike our blood tests, the test you took always takes at least 6-8 weeks to process.

Sometimes this may take longer though, due to the variability of biological sample analysis, as we always have to prioritise accuracy of reporting.
