Mobile Notary Services in Arlington and Northern Virginia

Virginia VA Mobile Notary Services

Recently I needed to update my last will and testament – I was preparing for trips to Costa Rica, the Northwest Passage, Greenland, and the Philippines – and I realized at the last minute that my will needed to be updated (I had a new grandson who’d arrived after I signed my last will, and I needed to include him in the will).

Time was short: I needed to get the will signed within the next four days, and we were heading into the Fourth of July holiday weekend. The first place I looked would be available with a notary – but if I went there I needed to provide my own witnesses (in Virginia a testator needs to have his or her will witnessed not only by the notary but by two witnesses). So that approach wouldn’t work.

Virginia has notaries who are willing to travel to wherever their clients need them. I don’t know many people in Virginia (even though I’ve lived here for 13 years), and I didn’t know any notaries, but for the last three years I’ve been training at OneLife, a fitness center in Crystal Park, Virginia.

After getting the okay from OneLife’s Crystal Park General Manager, I booked the notary services of Virginia VA Mobile Notary Services. The plan was to have Virginia VA Mobile Notary Services go to the fitness center, and two of the center’s senior staff would serve as witnesses while I signed the will.

Everything went perfectly. I paid a modest travel fee and included an equally modest tip, for the notary to travel to the center. Right on schedule, Mikayla Jakaya Butler arrived at OneLife. She confirmed my identity (I needed a government-issued photo identification card) and she met my two witnesses. She was poised, well-dressed, and well-spoken.

It was clear that Mikayla had significant experience performing the services of a notary. She was efficient, easy to understand, and understood what Virginia required in notarial services. Ten minutes, and we were done – my will had been signed, witnessed, and notarized, for less than $80 (and that included a tip for Mikayla’s outstanding service).

Five stars, well earned.
