Beware of this practise as they make up lies about you and steal your money!

Grimsby practise absolutely shocking! Beware of this practise as they make up lies about you and steal your money! The customer isn’t always right as I have learnt in business for many years, however, in this instance, the customer was right and then subjected to false accusations, spoken to horrifically and money taken for services already paid for! Stay well away people.

Disgusting behaviour.

--
Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Care for Our Cat,

I wish to express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent service we have received in relation to the care of our 19-year-old cat, Coco.

We originally purchased the ‘Vaccinations for Life’ package, which included annual health checks. I was dismayed to discover that the health check element has now been removed without prior notice or consultation.
Funny enough, it was sold as for life.

More importantly, we have had two consultations regarding Coco’s reduced appetite. On our last visit, we were informed that Coco had not lost weight and that further tests, such as a blood test and ultrasound, were optional. The vet explicitly stated that if we required further medication, we could contact the practice and a prescription would be provided without the need for another consultation.

Following this guidance, I telephoned the practice to request additional medication. I did not receive a response and later suffered a period of ill health myself, which meant I could not follow up immediately. I had expected that a prescription would be waiting for collection based on the vet’s instructions. Instead, I have been told that Coco must now undergo test’s, before any medication can be prescribed, and, even more upsettingly, my husband and I have been accused of lying about what was agreed in the consultation.

This behaviour is both unprofessional and distressing. We have cared for Coco for 19 years and expect a standard of service that reflects both the loyalty of long-term clients and the best interests of our pet. I do not appreciate being called a liar, and I believe your practice’s handling of this matter has been both disrespectful and commercially motivated.

I request a full explanation of:
Why the health check component of our lifetime vaccination plan was removed.
Why the verbal agreement regarding medication was not honoured.
Why my husband and I have been accused of dishonesty regarding our consultation.

If this matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will have no choice but to escalate my complaint to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

The blood test and the ultrasound was not hi to do with the medication like suggested by receptionist, but if we decided we wanted to know if there was anything underlining going on in an age cats, we don’t. We just simply want to keep him comfortable.

The vets and nurses are fantastic. Winton practice

The vets and nurses are fantastic. They genuinely care for our pets and show great knowledge on our issues. We have used them for our kitten from initial consultation to spaying and our older cat day to day care. They handled each of them as a unique pet, never rushing through appointments. My only downside is the waiting time on appointments we normally have to wait from 10 To 30 minutes from booked time.

AVOID vets for pets durham

Vets for pets durham,in my opinion based on conversations with other vet practices and research online are very outdated on cat dental procedures, and do not operate with best practice.
Owner very condescending and has no empathy on the loss of our beloved cat , my concerns were ignored and I was sent away . AVOID for the sake of of your fur babies

Affordable, professional, excellent services and great vets!!!

Using Kidderminster Vets for Pets I was super impressed with the staff, the pricing and the expertise shown by the vets in a calm, caring manner. I was lucky to have Daisha help send my dog on it's big sleep, professional and patient with masses of empathy and sympathy shown from start to finish. Certainly the best experience given the circumstance, I cannot thank Daisha enough and she is a credit to the company! Thank you again Daisha, you couldn't make it easy but you helped make it easier, I would highly reccomend the Kidderminster Vets for Pets without hesitation.

What a con

What a con! I've been with Vets for Pets (V4P) for over 13 years and each time the costings/pricing has been at best, fluid. And when you contact the parent company (Animal Healthcare), they shift the blame to the local branch (in this case, Charlton, SE London). They have put prices up three times in one year with no justification for the price hikes. I was quoted £828 for an ultrasound examination and kennelling afterwards (for a cat), for a day when compared to an independent vet surgery, who charged me £300. Speaks for itself that the big companies are trying to squeeze the market coupled with appalling customer service. Buyer beware and it's interesting that there are plenty of one star reviews. The 'don't care' attitude from V4P speaks volumes.

First time visitors and we found the…

Emperors Way Hucknall...First time visitors and we found the vet to be very engaging and emathetic and honest and up front. The receptionist was helpful and helped us to get a quick appointment. I found the pricing for the appointment, the time spent with the vet and the medication to be very reasonable and i didn't feel as if i was being ripped off unlike other vets i have used in the past. Highly recommended

They are price gouging and ripping off…

They are price gouging and ripping off their customers. I was charged nearly three times the price of the same prescription from an online pharmacy.

I know they have bigger overheads but a 200% mark up is not fair practice especially as I am paying for an appointment.

The girls on the front desk were so…

The girls on the front desk were so kind,I always rescue dogs but sadly lost of my dogs due to old age.
We wanted another dog for our son who's 11 but couldn't rescue as we now have baby grandsons and couldn't take the risk.
So I am first time puppy mum and was useless with finding the correct info for them but helped me and we had a laugh as well ❤️‍🩹
The vet was just amazing with snoopy ,didn't feel rushed with my 101 questions and she was so nice with my son making it a nice experience for him (he has autism)and hated vets as we had to take our old boy to be put to sleep and he thought vets were mean but she totally changed his mind and that in its self is amazing.
I used used another vets in Canterbury (won't mention names)but were not nice and felt rushed and I am so glad found these guys ❤️🩵

Misinformation

In January 2026, I booked an appointment for the ongoing medical treatment for my 16 years old dog. This was at the Rushen branch as I had just moved house. I had been taking my dog to the Northampton branch since she was a puppy and thought I was doing a simple transfer of care for ongoing treatment that had been in place for over a year, I have absolutely no complaints with the Northampton branch. On the call I explained I wanted a transfer to Rushden and told the receptionist what the treatment plan was. I was reassured they could provide the ongoing treatment but I was required to pay £60 to secure the booking. I booked and paid, then a few days later my husband took my dog for her treatment. The vet told him that they do not prescribe one of the medications and so could not provide the treatment plan as stated on the booking. My dog was in pain and so one of the prescriptions was given. I believed that the £60 was part of the payment for the treatment, but when my husband came home he told me he had paid full price for the one prescription provided.
I phoned to complain and it was at that point I was told the £60 I had paid over the phone was a consultation fee. The vet refused to speak with me over the phone and subsequently refused a refund making me wait many weeks for a response to my written complaint. The vet would not engage with mediation. I would never had agreed to making the appointment if I had been told they could not provide the treatment plan, and would therefor not of needed an apparent consultation. I would have stayed with the original practice. I am so disappointed with the lack of care and lack of acknowledgement for their mistake and misinformation. Be aware if using this practice of any subsequent complaint you may have of being dismissed. On the day of the appointment in my opinion there was absolutely no care or compassion for an elderly dog in pain.

Very good practice. Sadly over the years have had to use the vets for our dog. This vets is fantastic. Even the locum vets we have had to see have been brilliant. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. They are pragmatic, professional and reasonably priced.

I had a highly disappointing experience with Vets at Home. In my opinion, their approach appears to prioritise financial gain over the welfare of the animals in their care. When I submitted a formal complaint, I was assured that I would receive a follow-up call the following day; however, this did not occur.

After a delay of five months, I finally received an email from the manager. Unfortunately, it was evident that they had little to no understanding of the nature of my complaint, which was both frustrating and concerning.

For pet owners who genuinely value the health and wellbeing of their animals, I would strongly recommend seeking an alternative veterinary practice that demonstrates a higher standard of care and professionalism.

By contrast, I have had a very positive experience with Creature Comforts creaturecomforts.co.uk, Their pet plan includes unlimited consultations and no extra charges to see the vet, and the quality of care provided has been excellent.

Inconsistent care plan across branches

“After years as a loyal customer paying monthly for two cats on a care plan, I’m really disappointed with the recent changes.

A treatment (Bravecto) that was vet-recommended and has genuinely improved my cat’s condition is now no longer included. I was asked to pay extra on collection.

I’ve contacted the practice Aylesford to discuss this but haven’t received a response, which is even more frustrating.

I’ve now switched to Vets for Pets in Sevenoaks, where Bravecto is still included as part of the care plan.
That contrast speaks for itself.

What’s more concerning is that staff at the Aylesford branch appeared to have been told this change was happening across all Vets for Pets practices, which clearly isn’t the case.

Consistency across branches clearly isn’t there.

Just been to another RIP OFF BRITAIN…

Just been to another RIP OFF BRITAIN establishment, took my dog there to get a nail checked that was loose, the whole procedure took less than 4 minutes from start to finish including being told he would need a short course of SYNULOX tablets, 3 tablets at a cost of £25.24 equalling £8.41 a tablet, cost of these at Pets Drugs on Line was 73p a tablet, obviously this ""Vets for Pets"" pay a lot less than that per tablet by buying bulk.

The total bill for just removing a nail that was only attached by some fur came to a staggering £85.24, over £20 per minute of being there.

4 minutes into 1 hour equates to 15, the consultation fee of the bill was £60, times that by 15 and you get a hourly rate of £900, yes £900 per hour for something that required nothing more than a gentle pull.

I've two tiny Yorkies and always used…

I've two tiny Yorkies and always used vet's for pets but there's never been an issue with any illness I've just used the dentist and the annual boosters and have been reasonably satisfied but not recently they just seem all about the money and not my dog. she's been recently diagnosed with cushings she's 10 now and up to now been okay. I phoned up as always and paid beforehand it didn't bother me but now I'm finding them so greedy and not the slightest bit interested in my Yorkie. I've always had platinum insurance for them but never needed to claim so with the vets now charging me £100s I got onto my insurance. I paid over ,£500 and over £90 for her meds and was asked to make another appointment within 10 days and that I did I was asked for £339.53 for her blood test over the phone I said I would pay them when I come in with her she said no I want the payment now before, to which I said don't you want to know how she is and how's she's been?? she said well we're just booking the appointment, I said it's that all you are interested in is the money ? I said I'm not happy with you not wanting to know how she is ? to which she said I will hang the phone up if you have that attitude with me! I said I'm changing my vets to one who cares about my dog and I hung up. To think all those years with a vet so callous . I immediately rang my insurance and explained what had happened and they said I'm quite within my right to change if I'm not happy with them. wouldn't recommend them and the staff only care about payment. Blackpool squires gate vets is the branch I used.

A minus would be given

A minus would be given. Vets 4 pets West bromwich spayed my healthy dog. Complications arose in the 3 day pre op time frame. A stitch had worked lose internally according to the emergency vet. I had to pay £150 emergency call out and £1150 for critical care while she got stronger for an operation to fix the stitch. This was on the 3rd day following the spay. I was told she wouldnt be strong enough to have the op till 4pm or even the next day at 7.50am I left her. At 9.30 I was called by the daytime vet to say that the previous vet hadn't calculated the operation cost and that was between £2-£3000 and asked for payment. I did say I would pay it but would need to source it. She offered a payment plan which I accepted. They were sending details via email. I kept checking the emails but no plan was sent. At 11am vet rang. I assumed to discuss the payment. No she was prepping mable for surgery and she crashed and died I was screaming at them that surgery was too soon. She wasnt supposed to go to surgery. I collapsed and an ambulance was called but my friends collected mable. She was in full rigor. Disputing the time of her death. I have made formal complaints but received non of the evidence asked for. IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS DO NOT USE THIS VETS
