I was sent a letter by Venmo that they closed my account for
I was sent an Email by Venmo offering double cash back which would be 6% in your top spend category. Naturally I applied for the credit card and was approved. I then used the card as anyone would and ALWAYS paid my balance the moment it posted….well I guess they were upset I wasn’t paying them interest and fees meanwhile they were giving me cash back and they closed the credit card account for “unusual payment and purchases history…Synchrony deems may be indicative of future intention not to pay”. So basically I paid all my debts and they got upset they had to pay me the cash back…
Very disappointed
If there was a zero I would give them that...I tried to transfer money from my bank to the venmo account and it was declined..I chatted with an agent Valeria 🤬who could give two shakes about it..She could care less, her exact words were " it could be security or something else" but we don't know?? It doesn't give me a reason?? Try back later..so I was typing to respond to her and she disconnected the chat😡..these guys..SMH..
the WORST customer service.
horrible customer service; one of the worst i’ve yet to ever see from such a big
corporation such as PayPal
Can NOT even create an account as it tells me to enter my phone number then immediately tells me “Something went wrong. Try again later” + there is no in-app ‘help’ button if you having issues logging in, signing up or retrieving an account back.
Uhm.. Hell no… if i need to jump to hula hoops in order to simply create an account i am indeed not trying again “later” you’re just better off using an alternative app!
This company uses the philippines to do…
This company uses the philippines to do american work. In my experience, companies who use people offshore use them to save money which is greed. And then they also use them to avoid having to deal with issues and throw it all off on the Philippines. And the Philippines can't even help us. They don't even help whether it's the philippines or india.Or wherever any company who uses people overseas to run their company is a bad business. If I can't call Venmo and talk to them directly about my funds and my money then I don't trust it, which is the case with venmo. Yesterday I was on the phone for 1 hour. Trying to reach someone. And when I finally did, the philippines answered the phone and they couldn't do anything. The lady told me just to run a transaction to receive a credit card payment from my customer and that it would just sit there. Doesn't make sense. They don't even know what they're doing over there in the philippines. I would not trust my money and resources with this company. There are better routes like scanpay or clover who have actual american people answering their phones and helping you with every step of the way. I will be going back to them.
Crypto transactions fail for no reason. No helpful support.
Sometimes crypto transactions work, Sometimes they don't. This is beyond unacceptable. I tried to get assistance from the chatbot, the web, email and cell phone. The have the best corporate phone support
ever! (from the corporate view). Customers are never able to leave the endless unhelpful loop. I have completely defunded my money account and crypto account on Venmo. Use it for small personal transactions if you must. DO NOT MANAGE ANY CRYPTO AT VENMO.
Use another service this was just too aggravating
I probably went through the most irritating 2 1/2 hours of trying to close my Venmo account because I was trying to send money to my granddaughter for six hours kept having issues about login issues then once I finally logged in payment issues and for whatever reason they said the account was suspended couldn’t tell me why. they said we sent you an email, I never got the email so rather than argue with them I said just close my account I’ll find another way. I couldn’t even close my account. I had to send them a copy of my drivers license and they said it’ll take 3 to 5 business days. Extremely aggravating. Just trying to send a little $50 to my granddaughter. I will never use Venmo ever again.

Trying to get to a human is near…
Trying to get to a human is near impossible but I did manage eventually to find a path to speak to someone. Once I did, the person was actually quite helpful and friendly. Venmo, please fix your automated bot and invest in additional man power.
I opened a dispute
I opened a dispute, which took an entire hour on chat with a person who has only a tentative grasp on the english language. Once in the app, when I click through to see my open disputres, I am directed to a page that throws an error code, this page doesn't exist. To put it mildly, Venmo is not remotely up to the task of handling dollars, especially mine.
There is no human to speak to about a problem even after jumping through all their infinite hoops. Customers, you are just a number, they don’t care if they waste all your time.
First a couple days ago I tried to log in and repeatedly never got the code that was sent to my (correct) phone number, then after deleting and reinstalling the app and installing an update on my iphone, for days, every time i try to log in I get a message that says
“something went wrong try again later”
I have tried every troubleshooting suggestion to correct this twice and still get the same message. Their AI is worthless, nothing I can find in their help files even mentions this problem with getting that message or how to fix that problem and they don’t even give an option to speak to customer service when nothing AI, Chat or Help addresses the issue. I am not impressed, then it says if nothing of the AI, Help or Chat is of help to email support at venmo. So i did and in the email I ended with “I wonder if a human will even read this”
Guess what, they don’t even read it, I got this reply to my support email,
“This email inbox is no longer monitored.
To reach the Venmo Support team, go to Get Help in your Venmo app Settings and select Chat With Us. Our Help Center is available 24/7, where you can find answers to frequently asked questions.”
am not surprised!!! How can you get help when you can’t log in, no AI or help menu even addresses the problems message “something went wrong” and they say send an email to an inbox which isn’t even monitored or read? Then you are told to log in for help when the problem to begin with is you can’t login

I have gotten a frozen account after 5 years of not using it, for no reason. I keep getting referred to an email that they never sent. No human response from the contact us page. Unable to close account either. I’m very fed up and frustrated with the company.
It is too hard to get your money
It is too hard to get your money, we tried to do a quick transaction by sending money to our bank account, which by the way is $8.95. It kept telling us there was an error and our money just sat there. We needed the money right then to pay a bill that was due. One of my husbands bosses sent the money through them because his bank used
Venmo or Pay Pal, well we chose Venmo, what a mistake that was. We ended up using Pay Pal which instantly send our money as soon as it was in the account. I just believe that Venmo should send your money where ever you want instantly, not wait three days.

I have 700 dollars in my account my account has been frozen I need to pay bills and I was told the “specialist” only works through email and will contact me in 3-5 days…. 6 days later nothing….
I have a PayPal account that owns venmo and after this I’ll be closing both accounts and will never use either again. Horrible never use venmo or PayPal ever!
⭐ (1 star) - Terrible Seller Experience & Non-Existent Customer Support
Very bad experience with Venmo as a seller. While the app works fine as a buyer, sellers beware!
I maintained two Venmo accounts - one personal and one for business - both managed through a single app. Without warning, the Venmo app on my iPhone started crashing repeatedly and became completely unusable. I spent hours attempting every published troubleshooting step with no success.
When I tried reaching customer support, I discovered an absurd catch-22: phone support never connects you to a live person, and you're constantly redirected to their help center, which is only accessible through chat... in the app. The same app that wasn't working! It's impossible to get actual help when you need it most.
The real impact? Because of this app failure and complete lack of accessible customer support, I lost income as a seller and suffered actual financial losses. This is unacceptable for a payment platform that businesses rely on.
Venmo may be convenient for casual peer-to-peer payments, but if you're depending on it for business income, think twice. When something goes wrong, you're entirely on your own.

Venmo is absolute garbage
Venmo is absolute garbage. I tried to send a payment to a known recipient, and my transaction failed. Venmo provided no explanation other than to say the transaction could not be completed. After a few failed attempts, I called them. That in itself was a struggle. It is nearly impossible to speak to a person at Venmo. The explanation they gave me for the failure was "it doesn't look like an ordinary transaction for you." I don't know how I would be expected to establish a pattern of "ordinary" if they won't allow me to process payments. Their only suggestion was "Wait two or three hours, or maybe until tomorrow, and try again, but don't try the same amount. After the smaller amount goes through, then send the remaining amount." I tried that. I had to wait until the next day. I was able to send a payment for a smaller amount, but then after waiting about 30 minutes, when I tried to send the remaining amount, Venmo refused to process the payment, with the explanation that it was suspected fraud. I followed the instructions their rep gave me, and what I got in return was a partial transaction. I called them again and told them I was getting a fraud message. Their website said that I should contact them if I knew the transaction was not fraud. That was worthless. Once again, all they offered me was to wait a few hours or until the next day and try again. They said the system was automated and that there was nothing they could do about it. Nothing at all. What an absolute failure of a system.
I thought Verizon had bad customer…
I thought Verizon had bad customer service, until i called Venmo. Wow. Here is their training manual for customer service; "I don't know, the system doesn't tell us that, sorry." When customer asks to speak to someone who knows, tell them; "My boss doesn't have a phone number or email, you can't contact them." One page training. But don't forget to tell the customer to have a blessed day at the end of the worst call they've ever had.
Verizon, you are safe, there is a new worst customer service sheriff in town, and it's name is Venmo.
Multiple (4) times called to help to…
Multiple (4) times called to help to make payments work. Some days it does, some it doesn't. Say they put in an "exception" and to wait half hour. Nothing. Second time they said wait 2 hours. I waited overnight. Nothing. Very difficult to get through to a person to begin with. Have no idea how to fix problems. Send you to the bank, bank says its them.
I had if I'm old account and then they…
I had if I'm old account and then they suspended it when I complained that somebody had been sending money to had gotten into my account and sent themselves $75 they turned around and said that they didn't find no reason to refund or to do anything about the theft out of my account and I told him my account was suspended and after trying for months to resolve the issue there's no customer service contact information and if you do call them they don't you don't get anywhere with it and it just became a situation where I gave up because Venmo was not a proper venue for transferring money because there's no security in there whatsoever if somebody could get into my account that easily and steal $75 and have them decide that there was no reason to refund the money as I claimed in 45 minutes then when I asked them for the documents they use to determine the results of that dispute they wouldn't provide them and I've asked four or five times and they still ignore the request if I were you I would go in Varo Bank instead of Venmo then most part of PayPal I've also had problems with PayPal before but we're not talking about PayPal here but they are part of PayPal so be aware of doing business with Venmo
