Unnecessary Vitamin D content - Risk of heart palpitations

This is regarding their Omega-3 product. I emailed them to exclude Vitamin D3 from the omega-3 capsules because it can cause heart palpitations, but they responded that it's only a small dose (200 IU). If you are taking other multivitamin supplements, even small doses can add up to a significant total at the end of the day since the Recommended Dietary Intake (RDI) is 800IU. The RDI is even less for those at risk of heart palpitations. They tend to refer to the Tolerable Upper Intake Level (4000IU), which is alright for healthy adults once in a while, not every day and definitely NOT for all age groups.

Thanks for your feedback. Just to clarify, the product already contains vitamin E in the form of tocopherols, which are included as antioxidants to help protect the omega-3 oil from oxidation and maintain its quality.

Each serving of our omega-3 provides 200 IU of vitamin D3, which is a relatively small amount compared with the upper safe limit for adults of 4,000 IU per day. Vitamin E and vitamin D serve different purposes in this formula. Vitamin E is for stability, while vitamin D3 is included for its nutritional benefit.

We understand that total intake can add up if you’re taking a multivitamin, a separate vitamin D3 supplement, and this omega-3. If you are concerned, one simple approach could be to take a short break from your standalone vitamin D3 (for example, one day per week) to help balance your overall intake.

I have been using vegetology bone care…

I have been using vegetology bone care for many years. I am severely intolerant to dairy and eggs it’s a step below anaphylaxis but horrible severe symptoms and haven’t consumed any dairy at all for 20 years and very little prior. I have had a double hip replacement at 48 due to 0 cartilage, a hereditary condition I’ve had for years. I needed 6mm and 12mm added in the replacements (for context). Anyway when I have my bloods done, my calcium levels when tested 40+ has been perfect even though the severe osteoporosis I’ve inherited. My other joints I believe were saved and I am sure these tablets I still take daily are a huge factor. The prices are very reasonable and they do not spam you with constant emails. I recommend this company very much. Anyone with a dairy or lactose allergy/intolerance nearly every prescribed medication contains lactose. FYI

What an outstanding customer support!

I made a mistake and put the wrong address in the order. Basically, I moved houses recently and my old address was still in their files.

I called them to apologise and see what we could do about it (I spoke to Rosie); even though the package was already with Royal Mail, they sent me a complete new order to my current address at no extra charge!

I’ve been buying a lot of items lately…

I’ve been buying a lot of items lately while moving house, and Vegetology has genuinely stood out as the best customer service experience of them all. I made a small mistake with my delivery address, and instead of leaving me to stress and chase things up, they proactively reached out multiple times to make sure everything was sorted.

Most companies these days require constant follow-up, but not Vegetology — they were on top of it from the start, and it made such a difference.

Their omega supplements are also incredible quality and easily the best value for money I’ve found. Highly recommend!

These products contain a high number of additives which have not been shown to be safe for human consumption

Unfortunately, I am left with no option but to give this company a one star review given the fact that their products contain a lot of additives which may be harmful to human health and about which much is unknown, for example, carrageenan in their omega-3 capsules, amongst many others, the risks of which are described in an article at medicine.net - entitled 'What is wrong with carrageenan?'.

When I tried to leave a balanced review on their website pointing this out, surprisingly they didn't print it because they only print four and five star reviews. Personally, I don't understand why anyone would take supplements with additives when there are brands available that don't contain them or trust a company that behaves like this.

Carrageenan is perfectly safe and we use it in a small quantity as part of the capsule shell in our Omega-3. Online articles and blogs wrongly link carrageenan to data only relevant to polygeenan (a degraded derivative not used in human products). It is worth searching for Polygeenan, and you will quickly uncover the facts. Data relevance is essential, and the level of Carrageenan we use is completely inert. We wouldn't dream of using any ingredient if we had any concerns whatsoever. Online articles don't let science get in the way of inaccurate conclusions unfortunately.

Service reliable, products are good.

Service reliable and products are good. I get Vit C, Omega 3, B12 and Vitamin D. I get tested for B12 and D over the years and I always have a good result. I take Vit C only occasionally when I have a cold or no access to fruits. Omega 3 is part of my fats plan. My cholesterol tests are excellent. I've been vegan since 2011. I rely on vegetology for on time deliveries. 1 star dropped as containers are plastic, other packaging is eco friendly. Last summer (high heat) caused leakage of omega 3 capsules, creating a fishy smell/taste, so next summer I'll keep them in a fridge.

Regarding your comment about the plastic bottles, we completely understand your concern and wanted to clarify: our supplement bottles are actually made from eco-plastic derived from sugar cane. They’re recyclable, biodegradable, and completely carbon neutral. While we recommend recycling them, if they do end up in landfill, they’ve been designed to biodegrade within around 10 years — that’s about 440 years faster than conventional plastic!

Don't order!!!

My experience with vegetology was really disappointing. I was so excited to try their products, but even a month after placing my order, nothing had arrived. When I reached out, they told me my package was stuck in customs and that I should contact the courier company myself. I explained that I hadn't been contacted and their response was: "We'll just refund the order." I said I still wanted my supplements but they replied "not this time, have a great weekend" without suggesting me any solution!!

Honestly, that felt very unprofessional, and I'm really upset with how poorly the situation was handled.

Four separate purchases of the OMEGA-3…

Four separate purchases of the OMEGA-3 EPA & DHA capsules and on every occasion they have arrived congealed/leaking due to one or more of the capsules leaking. I see from the amazon reviews I am not alone so assume they have 'tweaked' their formula or packaging. I will not be trying again a fifth time.

I found the “free shipping” claim…

I found the “free shipping” claim misleading. Orders ship with Royal Mail, which then hands off to local postal services. These are often unreliable and much slower than premium couriers. There’s no option for DHL, UPS, FedEx, or temperature-controlled shipping, which I think should be standard for supplement companies.

On top of that, every order ends up with import charges. For me, it’s about $20 extra each time just to get the package delivered. When I raised this with customer service, they eventually stopped replying.

To your reply:

it's not free shipping if I m asked to pay 20$ by the courier each time. I d rather pay for premium shipping without import charges. I m asking to have the option..not for your to pay for it.

But do not mention "free shipping" on your website, because that is called false advertising.

Excellent company, excellent products

I have used vegetology products for some time now. They are always good quality and arrive promptly. My reason for writing this review is that I had a query recently about one of their products and I was very impressed with the way it was handled by their customer services. They responded promptly with a friendly email offering advice and promising a full refund if that was what I preferred. I followed the advice, which worked and when I let them know, they replied again saying I could still have the refund if I changed my mind. It’s very refreshing to get such prompt and efficient help.
