I was satisfied with my stay at…

I was satisfied with my stay at Vanguard Student Housing. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, the staff was always friendly and helpful, and the environment was quiet and conducive to studying. The location is convenient and safe. I would recommend this accommodation to students looking for a comfortable and well-organized place during their stay.

Whenever there is a problem the company…

Whenever there is a problem the company responds very fast and is very helpful. However, the cleaning ladies are in the apartment for a long time but meanwhile are calling loudly on their phone most of the whole time instead of cleaning the whole time while they’re in the apartment.

Would not recommend

Would not recommend – important to read

My experience at this residence was extremely disappointing. When I first arrived, the room was in poor condition. The bathroom had a hole in the wall, the room was dirty, the table was falling apart, and the fridge was dented. Additionally, there is a foot-long ledge to climb to get into the shower, which is a safety hazard and not visible in the marketing photos that were clearly taken from selective angles.

Customer service is quick to respond but ultimately unhelpful. A serious incident occurred when another tenant threatened me and two others with physical harm. Despite having video proof of the threats, the Cotown/Vanguard team took no action. This contributed to my decision to terminate my stay early.

Maintenance issues were frequent, and almost every week I saw staff fixing another problem. The food offering also felt misleading compared to what was advertised. When I raised this with the staff, they responded with “When you visit a hotel do you expect the breakfast to be the same as the photos” Which I found unacceptable.

In my opinion, the marketing does not accurately reflect the reality of the residence. Images should honestly represent the rooms and facilities rather than using angles to make them appear better. Safety should be a priority, and residents should not have to fear for their wellbeing. Staff must take threats seriously. Plumbing and general maintenance also need improvement.

On a positive note, Joanna, who handled cleaning, was respectful and professional. She was the highlight of my stay.

Overall, due to the unsafe environment, poor maintenance, and misleading marketing, I cannot recommend this residence.

Bad communication.

Constant building works.
Everything sorted in the end but a lot of problems in the apartment too.

I loved the stay

I loved the stay! The apartment was clean with everything that you possibly need. Comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen, the bathroom was decent size as well. The building is modern and felt very safe there. The stuff is super helpful and nice. I fully reccomend.

The worst possible living option.

We entered the room on the first day to ants all over the floor and tiles leaking water out of the floor. We have had our water turned off, and our bathroom completely gutted while we were living in there. We had to go to another apartment (living with people we do not know) just to use the bathroom. The people living in that apartment did not even know that we were given access to their place. The management is terrible and unprofessional, I couldn't even imagine a worse living situation than this. Being woken up by power tools at 9am on weekdays and weekends, our apartment filled with saw dust and cement. And when trying to get explanations from management I get told that I am lying about the situation while I have photos and videos to prove it. I would never recommend this to anyone.

Very money oriented company…

Very money oriented company overall.Make sure to read the contract before you choose the housings of this company. I stayed in Balmes 335. Nothing really benefits the tenants. One time because of the wind one window broke and took the fee from all of us even though it wasn’t anybody’s fault. 23.89 euros per person from 8 people just for a window. We can definitely say that they made money from that too… Generally in house the problems get solved relatively fast but we had one problem with the kitchen sink and it took them 2 months to solve it. Would I renew my contract: A hard no. But cant say that the apartment that I lived in wasn’t nice. Search for other shared apartments from idealista is my opinion. You would get things for much cheaper than vanguard housing.

We understand that you did not broke the window on purpose, but you decided to leave it open all day round when there was an alert of bad weather. At the time this incident happened, just 8 people were living in the apartment and the cost was less than 24€ per person.

In regard to the sink issue, our colleagues from maintenance were stoppying by the apartment almost every week to track it.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. It was an awful living, I have been living with 18-year-old kids, dirty boys, too childish, smoking at all times, taking people in the house during the day, and the only solution was always the same: nothing!.
If you know the age of the house member, there should be a good location for each one with similar ages... not me, a 24-year-old living with 18-year-old boys.
It was horrible, extremely expensive, and of extremely poor quality in every aspect. I would never, in my entire life, recommend this bad housing as an option.

Not great

Their own lock system fails constantly,, failed to do a simple change and vhange my room from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor, overpriced, closed down common areas without a deduction in rent, had to pay an insane amount for lost keys a number that was more than other higher quality residences, absolutely 0 security, customer sevice is hard to reach at times, if you do not have a spanish number they will not answer, they do not answrr whatsapp calls, they scold you like a chikd based solely on what others have said with limited evidence despite said co-livers also engaging in actually provable unhospitable actions. Took an unprofessional tone with me during situations caused by failure of their own online system. Horrible internet, does nothing to prevent people from smoking weed in shared closed envoirnments despite smoking allegedly being forbidden. Got mad at me for not answering when i repeatedly told that my contact info was different. Oh lastly, in spite of me telling them numerous times they cannot even write my name correctly

As we told you on diverse occasions, the remote opening is totally complementary to the physical keys and in no case it substitutes them.
All the fees are informed in the booking conditions, prior to the confirmation of the booking.
Customer service attends all the calls, no matter if they are from national or international numbers. You have a specific instruction about how to call if you have an emergency, but if you fail to do so and still do it through whatsapp, there is no assistance possible.
If we send a warning it's because we have evidences enough to address it.
The name we normally use to address you is the one that you put under your booking.

Satisfaction with the house

The house is perfect, i had good housemates, clean, and friendly.
The customer support is also 5 stars, any complains, any malfunction they were there to help right away. Really loved the house.
