A financial advisor I had known for…

A financial advisor I had known for years recommended a "crypto lending platform" that offered guaranteed 12% monthly returns by lending USDT to institutional borrowers at higher rates. The platform had a professional website, detailed borrower profiles, and audit reports from an unverifiable firm, and I started with $30,000 in USDT, lending it out for a 30-day term. After the term ended, I received my principal plus $3,600 in interest, and the platform automatically reinvested the funds for another term.

Impressed by the seamless process, I transferred an additional $320,000 in USDT from my retirement accounts into the platform, and my portfolio grew to over $650,000 as the platform continued to pay out interest monthly. The platform offered a "wealth management tier" with higher rates and priority borrower access, which I upgraded to for $15,000. I felt like I had found a stable, passive income stream and even recommended the platform to my family members, who collectively invested $80,000.

When I attempted to withdraw $150,000 in USDT to cover a medical emergency, I was hit with a $60,000 "liquidity withdrawal fee" and $40,000 "early termination penalty." I paid both, but my withdrawal never processed, and the platform's website went offline. I engaged (Grainge Advisory), who traced my USDT through a complex network of borrower profiles and intermediary wallets, discovering that the platform had been siphoning funds into personal wallets from the start. Their team successfully recovered my original $350,000 deposit by freezing assets on a compromised exchange, leaving me grateful but deeply aware that even trusted financial advisors can unknowingly lead you into sophisticated crypto lending scams.
