Have you ever been kept hostage by a…

Have you ever been kept hostage by a boat owner? Well let me tell what happened yesterday.

DO NOT RECOMMEND, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
Short story: Prison boat, The owner threatened us, asking for more money than we agreed, disappointing fishing all over, swearing and disrespect.
Long story: We booked a fishing session end of September for 10 people (bait + tackle included ) and we arrived in Northey Marina at 08:00 and have been told by Glen (the owner) that he doesn't have a skipper for us 🤣(funny isn't it?). He advised to wait as he will manage to find one for us, so he did, but 1,5h later and we got on-board around 09:35. We were supposed to fish 8-16 but we only fished 9:40 - 15:50.
He offered to take us again (10 people) for 400£ instead of 600£ and fish with himself because of the issues mentioned above and the fact we haven't caught fish, so we accepted. This time only 9 anglers turned up. We have been told with a 5 mins notice that we have to buy our own bait this time (which should have been included).
We let the skipper know that we are 9 people, he said "Ok" and start this awesome journey.
All fun and games, we haven't caught much, the skipper didn't want to move us to another swim even if we insisted for about 1hour... Now on the way back the skipper asked for 450£ even if Glen offered himself to take 10 of us for 400£ because. Now Glen said we were supposed to be 8, which is a lie.
We initially refused and told him no one has any money on them, so he anchored the boat outside the marina and told us we are not going to put our feet on land if we dont pay the remaining 50£. (that's a sort of blackmail or threatening right?) so we paid via bank transfer.
Glen turned up with his boat and starting to swear, threatening again ( f*cks, bastar**s, f offs and many more nice words ), he told the skipper to anchor "because we are going to need an extra trip"... Ridiculous this prison boat and this violent owner, considering that no one has ever sworn (at least from our side) . His 14 years old helper told me "I will crack yo*r f**** head off if you dont out down your phone", yep I was recording just to have a proof in case anything bad happens to us. Even if we told Glen that the 50£ have been paid he kept swearing and being noisy like a kid.
We finally asked for VAT receipt and that was the moment he realised he lost 20% of this 450£ 😂. He offered now to refund our bait money, but we obviously refused as it's not about the money, it's about the disrespect he has shown.
When I got home last night I have sent him a screenshot with his text saying "come in November, fish with me, I will take you all for 400£, whole boat". That's clearly a price per boat not per person so we could have been 10 as well.
Oh, and the skipper had been using our own bait, he didn't let us keep some fish like Undulate Ray (raja Undulata) even if they were bigger than 41cm (between wingtips) the minimum catch size as per British laws, and some nice +1m conger eels even if the minimum catch size is 91cm. When I was telling the skipper than we are not breaking the law by keeping the fish he was totally ignoring me.
Oh and now obviously they are probaly going to say we had been drinking, well of course we had a few drinks, who on earth doesn't when going fishing? No drinking on board was a rule that we have never been made aware of, not even in the morning safety briefing. No one got drunk of course as we had to drive back all the way up to Northamptonshire, Kent, Nottinghamshire etc.. The skipper only told us off when he noticed the bottle.
Please avoid if you want to have fun.
All screenshots and video are saved, just in case...

Avoid this company at all cost

Avoid this company at all cost! People are disrespectful and think they have the authority to keep people on the boat against their will.
We went for a trip on the 22nd of September and arrived in the Marina early at 8am to meet with the captain. We spoke with him and he said he doesn’t have a skipper for us (after driving for 4h). Finally he said he convinced his son to take us. He arrived after half past 9 and assured us that we will have the promised 8h on the boat. We got back shortly after 15:30 so that is about 6h of fishing. They did offered the bait.
After this trip everyone (all 10 of us) were a bit disappointed and my husband texted Captain Glen and after hearing the story he said “Unfortunately we see this far too often when people cant wait, that my oldest son, he is very good if you listen, it took a lot of convincing him to take you on his day off after my skipper didn’t show, come down with me in November and fish with me and I will take you all for £400 for the whole boat, I can’t be farer than that.”
Even though english is not my first language, I think you would agree with me that means the next trip’s cost is 400GBP for the trip for 10 people since there were 10 of us on the first trip.
My husband gathered 10 people and booked 24th of November to go and fish with the amazing Captain Glen. Unfortunately I had to abandon last minute due to personal reasons. My husband and our friends went. All 9 of them.
First of all the amazing Captain Glen sent someone else with them. That someone else sent them to buy their own bait and he also wanted to fish using the bait my husband and his friends bought.
If that wasn’t enough, I text my husband around 16:30, as I know he was supposed to get back to the Marina at 16:00 and he told me they are kept captive on the boat because they gave the skipper 400GBP instead of 450GBP. They called him and apparently Glen said that they agreed it’s 400GBP for 8 not for the entire boat. At that time he didn’t had Glen’s text as he recently changed his phone. I found it in my phone (as he sent me the screenshot before) later that day.
During this time, everyone told the skipper that their wallets are at their cars in the marina. Of course the skipper refused to lift the anchor. One of our friends insisted to pay with Paypal and they said they only accept bank transfers. Anyway, after few minutes Captain Glen arrived and starting to swear and yell, and in that moment my husband started recording. One of his crew members, told my husband that if he doesn’t put the phone down he will “crack his f***** head off”. You can clearly hear him on the recording.
The guys payed 450GBP by bank transfer and of course, requested a VAT.

These types of people should not be allowed to “keep people safe” on the sea.
