Not Professional At All, as stated.
As a returning resident of Dubai, having stayed at multiple apartments/residence/hotels during my visits, this booking with Vacationer was my first, and will be the the last.
Communication was awful from the very beginning of booking said apartment; having to personally chase the owner via WhatsApp to finally receive correspondence - They seem to care more for social media than their clients.
We did receive an early check-in, and was highly appreciative of this. However, the Apartment was not thoroughly checked nor cleaned entirely prior to our arrival. I can see via Department of land, purchase was recent therefore I believe the property was rushed and published on AirBNB without being previously checked over. Initial handover was rushed, therefore points such as car park, wifi and discussion over certain amenities were missed.
After residing at said apartment for the duration I have only just found out upon my departure there is a Pool, Gym and children area on the 5th floor. Albeit noted briefly on the listing, this wasn’t discussed nor mentioned by the agent and left us even more dissatisfied considering it was a family holiday.
Again, lack of communication, poor management and poor customer service.
Here are my further points:
- Cleanliness was poor, hairs in our bath tub.
- Downstairs toilet stinking.
- Wardrobes still full of rubbish/clothing tags from a previous tenant.
- Bins not emptied fully.
- 2 out the 3 Smart TV’s in the bedrooms, as shown on the listing, failed to work. One didn’t even have a plug.
- Every smoke alarm downstairs was taped/bagged up. (Health & safety/ fire risk)
- The outdoor ‘pool’ was merely big enough to sit in. - Additional equipment failed to work within the premises due to technical or electrical failure. I noted this on their previous review however, the landlord has yet to rectify these issues.
- Cleaning arrangements: I paid AED415 for an additional cleaning of the apartment mid stay. I was notified on the day of an hour delay. The cleaners arrived, whilst we was out, and we were notified & expected to remain at home whilst the cleaners, clean.
I ended up fronting a cleaning bill and yet to receive a refund; who on earth expects guests to stay within the property (with 3 kids) whilst the cleaners mop around.
NOTE; A charge of £240+ is included within your booking for cleaning. Dispute this.
In all honesty I wish I had paid a little extra to front a house in Jumeriah and receive the expected high class service that is common in Dubai. I personally will not use Vacationer nor recommend them to any of my clients/associates here in Dubai. As the lack of communication, poor management and points noted above I would like to have been compensated for the full stay and the cleaning bill however, cowboys have dismissed any notion of responding.
I have just booked another holiday in 2 weeks to make up for the awful experience.
