Unfortunately had a bad experience

Got a golf r from these guys everything seemed fine traveled 2 hours but noticed it was making a noise which I thought was road noise, once at home I noticed the coolant was low topped it up thought nothing of it as it had just done a fairly big journey a couple of days later coolant light came on luckily it was under warranty. The warranty company advised me to have it looked at and for them to supply pictures, when picking the car up from the garage (German car specialists) they confirmed it was the thermostat housing and water pump that needed replacing and asked if I was aware that it had been in an accident, told them no I was not as hpi came back clear they then informed me that they had noticed that from the back of the front passenger door to the rear quarter was full of filler and I should get an assessment done on this car to reject it. Spoke with used cars uk who was dumbfounded and could only say are you sure it’s not just been keyed. I then had a legal assessment done on the car who’s paint depth meter could not read in some places as the paint and filler was that thick, it had been written in the report the left hand side panel of the vehicle had been repaired very poorly with paint depth readings well over 1.5mm suggesting heavy filler has been applied to the left hand can’t rail, rear door and quarter panel the paint finish is of a poor standard too. Once the dealer had seen the report granted gave me a call straight away explaining I could get the coolant issues fixed but it was not unheard of for cars that are 6 years old to have filler in them which no it’s not for the odd dent or chip but not that much filler at that depth. Thinking it was just the bad paint work came to an agreement with the dealer to get it resprayed somewhere near me I took it to a specialist who has worked for Volkswagen for many years. The guy didn’t even get close to the car before he said it was full of filler he had a closer look at the car noticed that the wheels and doors all had over spray on them, there was not a single part of the passenger side which was not touched with filler and paint all panels. Advised that if he did sand it down and repaint it he would not be able to offer warranty on it as it would show back through really the whole side needs replacing after paying over £23000 for a car you would not expect this quality. I felt very pushed to get its coolant problems fixed very quickly and the dealer not taking any accountability for these hidden damages again try to tell me that filler was not unheard of that they had an inspection done on the car when they got it and nothing flagged up on their side, I would recommend paying for a pre purchase inspection before buying from these guys as you don’t know what’s hidden underneath especially to an untrained eye as someone that does not work with cars you don’t expect it to be underneath

Nice lads and a nice car

Very happy with the whole experience from the test drive to purchase of the car. I have had it for over a month now and already covered 2.5k in it. Without a single issue.

Travelled from Fleetwood to Broxbourne

Travelled from Fleetwood to Broxbourne, a round trip of 480 miles to view and test drive a Vauxhall Insignia Estate. The chap at the office was extremely pleasant but my first thought was why is there all bits and pieces of cars lying around. That said I thought right lets see, inspect and test drive the car. When I started the car and let it run for a while I inspected under the bonnet and there was a distinct smell of exhaust fumes which in theory should be at the back where the exhaust pipe is and not the front. The same smell although not as pronounced was inside the car. Then I inspected the underside and there was oil around the oil pan. The rest of the car was fine but on the test drive I noticed in the rear view mirror blue grey smoke billowing out. My first thought was maybe it was because it had been standing for a while but it just continued. Now I am not a mechanic but to me that problem just spelt trouble to me and I told the salesman as such. That set aside the cars performance seemed good but I could not take the risk of buying. To me the problems with this car should have been picked up prior to anyone wanting to buy it. He did say it had passed its MOT but that did not reassure me. Having travelled all that way I felt let down and deflated. I am sure that this business is well and above beyond reproach, its just that on this occasion I felt let down especially when I first approached this dealer that he said everything was great with the car. I did say to him that if the problem could be resolved to get back in touch with me because this was the car I really wanted.

Very fair no hassle dealer.

I part exchanged my car with UsedCars-uk.co.uk in February and was most impressed with the calm way that the deal went through. There was no haggling, absolutely no pressure. I was allowed to thoroughly inspect the car, then test drive it and agree the deal. In the comfort of a warm office the necessary paperwork was completed, including the transfer of my personal number plate quickly and I was able to drive my replacement car away the same day.

I was so impressed that when my daughter needed a replacement car a month later I first looked at the UsedCar-uk website and was pleased to see what looked like the ideal replacement. We visited and viewed the car and a fair part exchange deal was agreed. The deal went through as smoothly as my part exchange and we drove home in the 'new' car the same day.

Both cars are performing well, both were accurately described and I will not hesitate to return when my wife's car needs to be replaced.

I would not hesitate to recommend this family run business to anyone.
