Genuinely the worst retail company I can think of
This is genuinely the worst retail company I can think of in the whole United Kingdom. I actually dont know where to start, but I'll try.
They sell movies and video games that have photocopied covers. They sell these at the same price as if it was an original, authentic cover. However, if someone tries to sell that same movie with a photocopied cover at a CEX shop they just bought it from, they will be told that it is not boxed and worth less.
They advertise products on their website that they cannot provide. I ordered 10 DVDs from their website in July/August. 4 of these orders were cancelled due to "sourcing issues".
Their customer service is virtually non existent. They have no phone number that connects you to a human being. You have to message them online and wait 2 or 3 days for a useless, robotic reply. The reason the customer service staff are shielded in this way is probably because they would be bombarded with so many calls from irate customers/victims, and CEX would have to pay them a really high wage to compensate them for the emotional trauma of it all. It's easier and cheaper to just continue providing shoddy service and then making it difficult for the customers/victims to complain about it.
I find it depressing that the owners of a company can have such a low amount of pride that they continue to operate at such a low standard.
Dropping your money down a grid is more enjoyable and worthwhile than giving it to the apathetic dunces at CEX.
3 orders for high value games - all missing manuals?
overall happy with the games i've order but CEX really do need to amend the way they categorise high end Retro games. Cart only, Boxed and Mint just does not cut it. their "Boxed" should be changed to 2 categories, "Boxed without manual" and "Boxed with manual". its way too much of a lottery on what you are going to get when buying boxed using their online service.
this week i ordered 3 "boxed" games - 2 at £60 each and 1 at £80. the price paid for said titles you would expect manuals to be included. without manuals the price when buying elsewhere would be far cheaper.
CEX - do a little admin and add better categories for you retro titles. i can't be that hard.
Online store is much better than the high street
I love nosing around the brick-and-mortar CeX stores (my local is in Sheffield), but while the staff are friendly and polite the speed of service, even before the pandemic, is awful. It's very common for you to be queueing for 20 minutes or more (my record is 35!).
The online service, however, is fantastic. The website is a little clunky, but it's fairly easy to find what you're looking for and what condition it's in before you buy. You can even filter by a particular store's stock.
One word of warning for games collectors, however; CeX often reprint missing covers, so double-check the game box before paying for your purchase, especially if it's a rare retro title.
Great service and fast friendly service
Did online click and drop of console and controllers, very fast service online and took items to drop and shop and all went perfect, paid 2 day later without any hassle at all, I would certainly recommend them.

Just bought a refurbished iMac
Just bought a refurbished iMac, fantastic service, delivery was quick, packaging was more than adequate. The I mac was spotless, not a mark on it. Very, very helpful customer support. Really impressed. Used CeX uk online, and will go back again. Very happy
pricy but good.
i've used cex for a while now and it's great
if I had to complain it would be that you have to pay for the shipping of every item they don't put them in just 1 package.
Totally worth it
I bought from Cex UK (online) no less than 10 items recently. Not once I was disappointed. The delivery was fast, the items were more than acceptable, even great, the packaging was safe and protected. It is hard for me to go buy new stuff when I can find such great products at such a great price. Totally recommend it.
approach with caution
their franchise stores are absolutely appalling I recently bought an iPhone XR it has numerous problems with the speaker i took it into the aldershot store and they said there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I took it to a main store in Guildford and they found the problem straight away. they gave me a replacement and works fine they should really investigate their franchise stores as their franchise stores are selling substandard stuff

VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE…
VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE WITH CeX. Shocking.
The headphones bought from CeX in Cádiz for my iPhone 7 cost 15 euros and then, a couple of weeks later, they stopped working due to internal damage.
I went back to the store to complain, then the original headphones were exchanged for very old headphones that cost 12 euros, after a day or two I realized that the headphones I got from the store in exchange were of very poor quality, so I asked the store many times and contacted the central office to get another replacement or they gave me my money back (15 euros) and then the headquarters confirmed in writing by email that the headphones I have now (once replaced) are under warranty and I can replace them again, but nothing happened and the store like this The CeX headquarters is trying to convince me that I'm happy with what they have replaced regardless of my satisfaction. In fact, they told me they are doing me a favour even if I am a customer and I am buying with my own money, but that does not mean anything to CeX, since buying in the store is a favourite for me. Shocking again.
They have refused to return my money or replace the headphones, even under warranty.
If this isn't the worst customer service on the planet, then I don't know what is.

I got a great item at an unbeatable price. CeX is probably the best place to buy second hand electronics and computer parts without having to worry that you are getting scammed or ripped off.
