We traveled to Norway Dec, 17 to Jan 3, 2022. Main part of our journey was Tromso and Lyngen Alps. Up Norway had arranged everything for us. It was well organised. The whole experience was great, and whale safari, aurora lights and dog sledging were the highlights. BUT, a big "but": the price we paid was extremely high. At least 50% more than the sum of the individual prices of hotels, transfers, dinners and activities. Meaning that Up Norway's fee was over 5000 Euros. I tried to contact them and get some details about the pricing structure, but their associate told me that their partners pricing is confidential. Which of course anyone can find on the internet, so I do not really understand any reason for "confidentiality". I realize that any travel agency is not working for free, but I could not imagine such an overprice. In order to avoid any mistake I sent to their associate the list with all our activities and their price, but she still refused to become specific. It's a pity, because their service was good, but I'd suggest to search for an alternative.

Grateful to Up-Norway for having made such an incredibile adventure to become reality in such a short time. We needed to schedule a trip in Norway with so much things we wanted to do that apparently was impossible, and in few days up-Norway has made a suitable stunning tailored trip, based exactly on what we would like to do in the best possible way. Hiking on the fjords, kayaking in rivers and the North Sea, trail whales and puffins, sleeping in remote beautiful lighthouses, see the most intriguing architectures into northern forests and coasts, taste the best Norvegian food, fishing on a ancient boat, driving through the most spectacular scenic routes, climbing uninhabited islands, sleeping in domes under the sky and swimming between kelp forests.
That’s only a teaser of what we experienced in a bit more than a couple of weeks, and all thanks to the perfect organization of Up-Norway which made this dream coming true.
We are looking forward to come back to Norway soon !!!

We enjoyed a wonderful week in western Norway, planned by Up Norway. Thanks to them, we experienced great food, interesting activities and beautiful nature we would not have been able to find by ourselves. Their knowledge of the region was very helpful, since we got to visit some of the most beautiful places in Norway, and escaped the most touristy places at the same time!

We especially liked Knutholmen on Bremanger island, where we went crab fishing with a local fisherman, and Lærdalsøyri, with its lovely wooden houses.

The trip was scheduled in an intuitive app, with all the details we needed.

We had the most wonderful 9 day trip around western Norway, all of it perfectly planned by Up Norway. We were 6 persons, all from the east of Norway, who could benefit from Up Norway's expertise and knowledge of those extra special places to visit and stay. Our trip included Energihotellet, Walaker Hotell, Knutholmen and Visnes Hotell. All of them special, all of them excellent! If one thing has to be mentioned as standing out above the rest it must be the shellfish platter at Knutholmen. It was by far the best I ever have had anywhere in Norway!! And we would never have found it without Up Norway - so a big thanks from all of us!

We received a gift certificate with Up Norway for our wedding, and Torunn organized a romantic get-away for my husband and I this summer. She tailored the trip perfectly to our needs and request for a child-free retreat in close proximity from Oslo. A couple of days at Farris Bad was just what we needed and we couldn't be happier with Torunn's service and advice in advance of our trip. Highly recommend Up Norway to anybody who is looking for that extra, tailored touch to their vacation in Norway :-)

Had a fantastic experience with UpNorway on our extended weekend trip to Bodø and Lofoten. The itenary was perfectly matched with what we were looking for in terms of activities and quality of dining and accommodation. It was very convenient to access the itenary through the travel app which also included nice tips on things to do/travel tips in between scheduled activities. The hosts we met were awesome and we really felt that we were given a very special and local welcome. A special shout out to Hattvika Lodge, beautiful place to experience Lofoten from!

UP Norway is a travel company like no other. My boyfriend and I recently worked with Torunn and her team to come up with a perfect itinerary to explore the Western shores of Norway, and it was like they knew exactly what we wanted, and even added a few things in that we didn't know we would love, but were so thankful for! For example, Torunn knew how much I would like an authentic food experience so she arranged for me to learn how to make "lefse" (Norwegian flatbread) with a lovely local family. We also had an exhilarating mix of high-end city experiences and fully remote nature excursions, which made for a truly unique trip.

Norway is expensive - so it is worth your while to work with a company like UP Norway to make sure you spend on an experience that is truly worthwhile. Full disclosure: I am a culinary travel blogger and knew the company before embarking on this journey, but all opinions are my own and I was not compensated for this review.

I started my travel plans late July when borders were just open for a mid August trip. Trude and UpNorway team did a great job to have all plans set just before the due date.
My journey was amazing, it included very diverse experiences. I really liked the concept of sustainable tourism including direct contact with the locals and personalized services. All the hosts were genuinely warm and very welcoming people.
It was my first time in Norway but definitely not the last one.
Thanks to UpNorway and looking forward to organizing my next trip.

I want to update my previous review with some information. This Norwegian agency allows customers to file complaints. So for anyone, like Jeanie Middendorf, who had a similar experience to mine with a tour company not providing refunds this is a possible course of action. I was fortunately able to get a credit from my credit card company and so am no longer pursuing this with Norsk ReiselivsForum.
So I encourage people to try with their credit card companies and also with this agency. The Norway Package Travel Act clearly states that customers are due a refund in extraordinary circumstances.
Replying to Up Norway: Of course we closed the case with Norsk ReiselivsForum, as it would have been unethical to pursue it since our credit card company credited the cost of our deposit. Also Up Norway mentions that they had costs. We had repeatedly recognized that they did work in preparing our itinerary by offering that they refund 70% of the refund and keep 30%. This offer was refused.

Another amazing get-away organized by Up Norway- this time to a historic farm site located in the Southern part of Norway. We initially planned to go in May, but couldn’t go due to the pandemic. Up Norway offered to postpone at no additional cost and took care of everything for us. Love the way they organize a whole package of accommodation, dining, guiding and adventure. We had such a great time! Thank you again to the proffesional team at Up Norway.

Upnorway organized our honeymoon at the amazing Manshausen cabins in Steigen. It was truly a magical stay! Midnight sun, great food, fab wine; truly a fantastic place!! You gotta go!

Even if we had to postpone our honeymoon from low season to high season due to corona, we did not have to pay anything extra! Superb service! 👌🏻Answered our emails within a short time and followed up on us till everything was in place.

We highly recommend UpNorway to organize your next trip to Norway! They will find those gems you could never Google your way to and they will assist you in all your needs.

Five of us from the U. S. started working with Up Norway in early spring on a two week trek. Then coronavirus hit. The trip was not going to happen and we requested a refund ($9427). We received two different answers from two different people. Then, they made a decision based on some mathematical formula. They returned to us $552 per person, for a total of $2760. Essentially we had spent $6667 to arrange for a two week itinerary. We did not fly to Norway---no entry allowed. Up Norway wanted us to spend more money in a final payment for a trip that could not be defined. Not prudent.
If you place a deposit with these folks, and there is a second wave of the virus you are still on the hook.
Be careful. These people understand terms and conditions, not your safety.

Henriette from Up Norway organised a weeks trip for a friend and myself in July 2019 and it was special, personal and perfect. So this February I asked her to organise me and my 16 year old twins to visit the North Norway to try find the Northern Lights. I followed her advice (argued along the way but went with her advice) and it was simply the best travelling experience I have had. Sure we were lucky to see the lights three times BUT the places we stayed and the day trips we did were so perfect for our "group" that I honestly cannot fault anything., Thanks Up Norway you really are insiders , you are professional and personable. Highly recommend.

The tailored experience offered by Up Norway was incredible! I am sure that just going to the Arctic would have been an unforgettable experience, but with the experience they created for us they made this trip the best ever! We were skeptical at first, because we had never done a tailored tour, but as soon as we got there everything just kept getting better.

The places they recommend and the people they work with are not just randomly picked, but they make sure that their recommendations are the best choices. All their partners know them and trust them.

Also, every time we had a question or any doubt during our trip, they answer immediately and solved every issue we had.

We planned our holiday in Norway with the help of UpNorway and it was the best decision we could make. After our two-week stay, we were only able to look back on positive surprises. Although we had no luck with the weather, we were always looking forward to the lovingly selected accommodations, the excellent food, the beautiful nature and friendly people here in Norway. I would particularly like to highlight the UpNorway service and the availability around the clock! We will never forget this holiday and will definitely be back again.

I just returned from two weeks in Norway. I had the best time there. I really want to thank the UpNorway team and a special thanks to Trude. They truly made a trip that met every one of my wishes, sometimes they came with ideas that on my own I would never know that could be done. They do their job that well that the only thing you just need to worry is be on time because They come up with a digital itinerary with all the information (tickets, bookings, bus stops, ferry, museum information, recommendations of what to check, where to eat,...).

Also if anything comes up along your trip they are always in touch with you.

My wife and I just returned from 8 days in Norway coordinated by Up Norway. Trude and her colleagues selected good and eclectic hotels, and we generally got rooms with preferred views, size, and included meals. We traveled the first week of September which, as it turns out, is late season and some activities were unavailable and/or got canceled on us (because few signed up?). Up Norway kept us well informed and either selected alternatives or promptly/completely refunded our advance purchase. A few thoughts for others: (1) June and July are probably better than late August/early Sept. (2) beware of departing mid afternoon for another city, because distances are far and it's hard to find the next hotel (and return the rental car) in the dark. (3) the trolltunga and pulpit rock hikes are strenuous and meant for experienced hikers.

Trude and Up Norway created a trip of a lifetime for us. Every detail of our trip was flawless. We enjoyed touring Oslo and the fjords. Trude arranged our activities (from biking to kayaking to hiking), the hotels were stayed in, and the transportation. We were provided with a very useful electronic itinerary that described each day of our trip. We especially enjoyed the hotels in the mountains. Up Norway is top notch and provides extraordinary service. We will definitely use Up Norway for our next trip to Norway.

It was my first time in Norway and I was not sure where to begin. Up Norway came up with a personalized itinerary for me and my family choosing hotels and hikes off the beaten track. We were extremely happy with all their choices and help throughout the trip! Thank you Trude for all you did for us!
