A long-awaited dream stay, and it didn’t disappoint. This beautiful cottage transports you to a simpler, slower way of life. Incredible value for such a special place — I’ll definitely be returning.

The Under the Thatch website was well presented, easy to book rooms and really flexible around dates. All the booking information was provided with clear links to our booking information. We had a terrific 10 days at Beudy Trehilyn, the explanations of how to get there, the description of the place were are all accurate. The house was beautifully furnished and presented, warm and comfortable. The area is just stunning with access to many footpaths and coastline. The dogs enjoyed it too!

A lovingly restored, cosy Cottage in a very beautiful valley with both easy and challenging walks on the doorstep. The Cottage is very well equipped and clean. We had a memorable week here and would recommend it to anyone. It was a pleasure to meet the owners on our last day.

A wonderful stay at the timeless and chracterful Trehilyn Uchaf. The property is tastefully furnished with a historical feel yet incorporates modern comforts, such as cosy underfloor heating. Special thanks go to the friendly staff member who so promptly came to help when there was an issue accessing the internet (due to a failed lightbulb sending off the switch in the nextdoor cottage where there Hub was placed -- the internet worked well after this). The green credentials of the property are excellent and it was lovely to notice how much more wildlife there was on the farm since the woodland walk and nature garden had been planted up in the years between when I last visited the cottage. The location is good near the coast path and other Pembrokeshire attractions. Highly recommended.

The secluded location was perfect, the night skies awesome and the cosy cottage was a delight to retreat to. One of the best UTT cottages we have stayed in.

Booked through UTT many times before. The website is easy to navigate and booking is easy as well. If you have any queries UTT are quick to respond. Never had any issues booking with them.
Tried a new cottage to us this time in the Cambrian mountains. Bwlch Newydd is a perfectly maintained and fully equipped cottage nestled between two mountains. The views are stunning. The cottage has a lovely safe garden surrounding the property. Local walks, nature reserve and dam to explore but if you go expect no signal other than wi fi! Excellent for a tech detox and a complete rest away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Lovely cottage, bigger than it looks ! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so did our dogs. The cottage was wonderfully equipped, the log burner was perfect and the extremely generous supply of logs was much appreciated. We found the electrics a little odd and must be mentioned the lengthy drive in and out of the property was very steep . Only downside, the home cinema set up can only be appreciated if you use Apple. Otherwise lovely relaxing retreat.

The location is unreal with epic views over the Dyfi valley and Cadar Idris. Easy to get to Machyllenth and Dyfi forest. Superbly well done off-grid living, which helps you disconnect but still plenty of creature comforts like snug beds, kitchen facilities and hot water. Love the balcony-decking area and the bath side views. Really feels cut off with the 1 mile drive up a steep track from the road to the door but adds to its charm.

We booked a Christmas break (22 - 29th Dec.25) with Under the Thatch at Granar Trehilyn.
Communication about payment & accommodation was good.
On arrival we were impressed with the building design and layout of the property.
Initially it was warm and cosy, but as soon as the temperature dropped outside to 3°C, we found the heating could not cope, we initially contacted the property manager, but we had no response, so we had to contact Under the Thatch via social media.
This got a response and a member of the property management team did arrive to try and adjust the heating, but not with much luck.
We obviously had the use of a wood burner, and we were given a couple of electric radiators to help keep the chill out.
The main complaint we have is that we were ignored completely for over a day which was Christmas Eve, and we didn't get any help until Boxing Day.
It seemed that the heating system could not cope with the demand.
This experience really upset our Christmas holiday.
Generally the property could do with a good clean and tidy.
I'm sure this was a lovely place to stay a few years ago, but it is now tired and tatty in places.
We will not be returning to any property with Under the Thatch.

Perfect beach and lovely cottage.
Warm, well equipped and well appointed.
We spent 5 days with two dogs and it was great fun. Dolphin boats, cardigan, gin distillery.

Awel For is a super little cottage in a wonderful location. It is very peaceful and just a short walk from the beach and coastal path. The cottage is simply but adequately furnished. It is however a little tired and in need of refurbishment.

Home from another excellent holiday in an Under the Thatch property. We have used this company for over a decade and highly recommend it. Never disappointed. Beautiful homes in stunning locations.

We enjoyed the cottage. However, afterward, we discovered that the same house was available for rent under a different name (Gallestra) through Lounge Holidays, and it was over £400 cheaper. We contacted UTT about this, but they were unwilling to refund us any of the money. Despite their own advertisement:'value - you won't find the same property cheaper anywhere else'. So, if you're interested in renting this house, book it through Lounge Holidays.
