ADAM BARLEY ULTIMATE PAVING POOR SERVICES UK
Adam Barley of ULTIMATE PAVING, who was responsible for the paving work in my backyard. As of my last inspection, and corroborated by feedback from both the tenants in 2020 and the new tenant as of today, approximately 80% of the paving has come loose, with some sections on the verge of falling off. Additionally, before Mr. Adam undertook the job, I specifically requested that the tiling be sloped to ensure water would drain away effectively. Unfortunately, despite this request, all water is now pooling in the center of the floor tiles and requested this back in 2019.
The problem was first reported to Mr. Barley during the previous tenancy in 2020. Regrettably, the COVID-19 lockdown initially prevented any remedial action, a delay we understood given the circumstances. However, post-lockdown, the builder has offered a series of increasingly implausible excuses for not addressing the issue, ranging from claims of damage caused by children playing (which is unfounded) to being too busy with other clients' work and blaming adverse weather conditions.
Most concerning is the recent assertion from Mr. Barley that I should bear the full cost of repairing the paving and water drainage from the tiles, essentially passing his supplier issues and admitted lack of experience with this type of paving onto me. This stance is particularly frustrating and unacceptable, especially considering his acknowledgment in previous WhatsApp messages of his errors in fitting the paving but insisting that the supplier should have informed him of the specific requirements, thereby absolving himself of responsibility. Additionally the paving's could have inured one of the tenants children falling off.
When we hire professionals for such work, we do so with the expectation of quality and durability, not the anticipation of bearing additional costs due to the contractor's oversight or lack of expertise. KEEP AWAY AT ALL COST AND WILL CONTINUE TO PUT THIS ON ALL SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS AS WELL.
UPDATE 27th March 2024 - Since i confronted him via email to say that the work was still under warranty 5 years and 10 years from the materials he blocked me on all social media, whatsapp emails...
