I was really annoyed at having to use a paid service simply to establish that I am who i say i am. But that's Company House's fault, not UKPA's; they made it as smooth and painless as possible. Susmita was very patient and she kindly changed their normal procedure from Teams to Zoom to accommodate the set-upon my laptop. £40 + VAT seemed very reasonable for the effort they put in on my behalf.

Straightforward process, good communication and fast responses to questions and good value for money. Although deeply irritating that the government having taken tax off me for the whole of my working life now have the audacity to ask me to confirm who I am :-(
