I’ve just taken out a mobile phone policy with Protect Your Bubble and, although it’s a bit more than I ideally wanted to pay each month, it still came out as the best option for me overall. What... See more

Simple easy and good price
Woeful experience and underwhelming compensation
They are a good company up until your 3rd insurance claim for the same item - you will then be passed onto their fraud team that will ask you to send documents they already have in multiple emails, because they assume that your 3rd claim is fraudulent. for some context - I have been a customer for at least 4 years and have 5 or 6 products insured with them. They know me well or apparently not.
This is the second time it happens to me on a product I have had insured with them for over to years: I have a special needs child that breaks things often so I claim frequently. You will be asked to send all sort of things (council tax statement, passports, proof of purchase they already have from previous claims) in weird formats, e.g. the PDF of your passport is not acceptable, you have to send a photo, If you send photos of the damage as a zipped file they ask you to re-send them as separate files.
this is the text from their email:
- If the document was originally a PDF, please send the original PDF.
- If the document is a screenshot, please send the original screenshot as a JPEG/PNG file.
- If the document is physical, please take a photograph.
- If the document is an email, please forward this to us.
in what world do bank statements not count as proof of address??
My mac computer had water damage, and after telling them this they are now asking me to re-send a picture of the device (which they have repaired twice with no issues) with the IMEI on the screen - the laptop will not go on so how am I supposed to do that? my claim number is 36004856. With an extremely busy life and a special needs child I do not need to be made to feel like a criminal the third time an item breaks.
UPDATE 04 March 2026
I received a swift ticking of the box email that my complaint is unfounded as they are sticking to their timelines. My complaint was not about timelines. It's about asking unnecessary documents as part of the claims process. Note this is not my first claim. Also then swiftly got another email asking for more documentation, and ignoring the zip file of JPEGs of pictures of the laptop. I had to send them as individual files. They wanted the Sky emails forwarded to them (even though they say put everything in one email). I forwarded 3 separate emails as I do not think they would accept the messages if sent as attached documents. They also asked for document I had submitted already to be resubmitted as part of the email. It is all rather exhausting. I supposed if they ask for enough documents I would give up on the claim and they can keep taking money and not fixing products when they break? I am not adding any new products onto them as insurance. that is for sure
Updated
Laptop has been collected and could not be repaired. I was offered £679 as compensation as they could not replace. I have asked for the full price from new, which is £1100. Will be putting in another complaint!!

Not happy at all
Not happy at all. I lost my camera the other day and thought they would cover me with my insurance I have been paying for the last 2+years. I called them telling them and they are asking me for proof of purchase which I didn't have because the camera I got is 2+years old. Why didn't they ask me all of this before taking my money for a numerous amount of months! (Avoid)

It is stressful enough to have your phone stolen and having to deal with closing everything down ie;bank cards memberships etc, but nothing prepared me for the stress and amount of details and documents required to make a genuine claim, with the price of the policy and excess of £159.00.
I have spoke to at least 3 foreign customer services agents (strange for a company based in crewe), endless emails requesting new and same information very hard work jumping through hoops and stalling tactics they use, so now 2 weeks have passed by and still no end result, I have attempted calling Amazon where I purchased the policy in good faith, you only get the chatbot answers.
Absolutely if your insuring your phone better go somewhere else
Shockingly unhelpful customer "care"
An update from above review, now its 4 weeks since I had my phone stolen, provided all the information required and still they ask for new documents, and say "they are investigating the theft" well I thought that would be the police job, good luck to anyone making a claim.

Explained the options available clearly and answered all my questions.
Simple to set up
Simple to set up took less than 3 minutes. But like a lot of these things I would only know how convenient the policy is if I ever need it, which I hope obviously I don't.
