Very bad experience

They took a brand-new Samsung Watch under warranty, still they asked 120$ to fix it but were even after 6 weeks they were not able to ... then they asked more money to fix it... I had to leave the watch with them and bought a new one for 200$. Very bad experience. Be careful.

Never take your phone here

The only reason I'm giving one star is that zero is not an option. I took my phone with a cracked screen to the Evansville Indiana location. They fixed it and it worked fine until it got wet. It never occurred to me to check their work. This was 7 months ago. After it got wet, the battery stopped holding a charge so I put it away and got a new phone. This weekend, I decided to put a new battery in myself since it's old. When I opened it up, I discovered two things: 1. They didn't put a new waterproof seal in. 2. They didn't put all the screws back in and one that they did use is nonstandard so I can't even get it out. It has to come out before the battery can be replaced.

If I wanted a haphazardly rigged fix, which this absolutely was, I'd have done myself the first time instead of paying nearly $300 for them to do it.

Never ever go here. I will certainly never darken their doorstep again.

AVOID

AVOID! This location will con you!!

Brought my phone in because ocean water got inside it. They charged me $50 to try and fix it but said they couldn't. I then went to 4 other locations (including other ubreakifix) locations and every one of them immediately said there is no way to fix it and every fix-it store knows internal ocean water damage can't be fixed once the phone short circuits. This shop knew my phone was ruined and unrepairable when I entered but still charged me money to "try" and fix it. This particular shop took me for a $50 ride and likely didn't even do anything because there is nothing that can be done short of sending my phone to a specialty lab where they charge thousands to extract the info. You should avoid this location! Even other ubreakifix locations are more legit, it is simply the people working at this location that are con artists.

Unprofessional and Incommunicative

When our 5+ year old Switch started having charging issues in late September it was clear the charging port had become worn or damaged, comparing it with my brother in law's newer Switch. Never having had to send a gaming console in for repair, I researched extensively and uBreakiFix seemed highly rated and reviewed. Little did I know I was about to embark on the most bizarre and unprofessional repair journey of my life.

At first blush, I was very encouraged. The storefront looked professional with a small foyer and massive LCD screens behind the counter touting all of the range of dynamic electronic fixes. The front desk staff (Patrick S) was prompt and assessed my Switch. At this point I had transferred some data off and the screen was still functioning which they marveled at but the console was down to 20% power with no way to recharge. The quoted $150 for HDMI port parts and labor with a 1-2 week with a 10/10/23 pick up date from 9/26/23 drop off seemed reasonable. I was hopeful when I received an encouraging tracking email.

After about 1.5 weeks of no news, I wanted to check in. The online tracker lacked any information beyond “Repair in Progress” The clerk informed me that the replaced HDMI port wouldn't allow it to charge and they had ordered an additional part for a broken screen and were awaiting shipment. Why hadn't I been notified to this change? Why was the screen no longer working when it did at drop off? There was no explanation. I was told I'd receive a call when the repair was finalized. An additional week and a half droned on with no updates from the team, no changes in the tracker. Finally I called only to be told it was declared unrepairable and the screen no longer powered on, which it had upon drop off. I understood that not all devices can be repaired but why hadn't they given me any indication of the status change? I pleaded with them to transfer my data to microSD at least so I can recover and transfer to a new device. I went there in person 4 hours after the call only to be informed my device was in pieces and couldn't be reassembled that day.

Days rolled by with no call. Now my device had been held hostage for a month. Calls to the store no longer rang through and I waited on hold for nearly an hour. My wife started to call repeatedly later that week only to have the line completely disconnected. She drove out in person to see a store closed for maintenance. Any calls to customers? Zero! Any reasoning given? None! Any timeline for resolution? Absent!

She escalated the ticket to Assurion corporate, they had little else to share. It was only through other reviewers that it became apparent there was a cockroach infestation and likely they had to completely shutter their operation for an extended extermination. Just yesterday my wife liberated our still busted Switch.

I maybe among the few able to articulate how unnecessarily stressful and unprofessional this repair process has been but I'm certain there were hundreds of customers impacted that I'm speaking on behalf of. If you think, as I did, that a local repair shop with corporate quality assurance is enough, think again. Better to ship directly to the manufacturer than to deal with this store's uncommunicative approach. Will never return and hope you can avoid this place as well.

**BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL**

BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL

I own a tech company and used to use them a lot for phone repairs.

NEVER EVER AGAIN

Went in with my niece who was home from College. Her screen was broken and we went in and had a long discussion about how much apple overcharges for repairs and how THEY USE THE EXACT SAME PARTS and that thier price was 40 dollars less. left the phone with them and went and ran errand. The person at the register said he'd call us when it was ready. Should take about an hour.

OK so 2 hours go by. We go in. He says "oh its been ready" I said why didn't you call. I got "oh sorry" then He hands my niece her phone which immediately states that the screen is aftermarket with a big warning.

When I questioned him about this he said "oh that's no problem ignore it. These are the only screens we use" I said "that's absolutely not true I've purchased screens from them many times before. I pressed on and said also you charged us for a real Apple Screen! My niece was so late getting to her train at this point that she begged me to let it go and we left. The rep said "don't worry about it. If anything goes wrong we will take care of it..

We got back to the apartment to pack up her stuff and immediately the screen started flashing. I was infuriated but she wanted to just get her train.

Three days later I get a call from her mom. Kennedys screen fell off again and she has no phone.

I call the lex shop and go over the situation. They said "yes well that can happen with the aftermarket screens because they don't sit on correctly because of the glue and we always recommend that you get the manufacturerreplacement. You should have asked for that" I naturally lost my temper and said FIRST OF ALL YOU TOLD ME THIS WAS MY ONLY OPTION. THEN SAID WHY WOULD YOU EVER PUT ON A PRODUCT THAT YOU KNOW IS FAULTY.

His reply was "oh well I see now that we didn't have the other screen in stock" saying something is the only option and saying something is out of stock are 2 EXTREMELY different things.

I demanded to speak with a manager who was equally as aloof and said "you can pay for a replacement with the correct glass" then when I said I was charged for the real glass he tried to tell me that oh no our real OEM glass screen replacement is almost 400 dollars! First of all they cannot charge more than Apple for an OEM product and if that's true I should report them to Apple reseller division for violation of agreement.

They never fixed it or offered a resolution. I had to send my niece to Apple in Philadelphia and spent another 290 for the replacement.

In closing DO NOT GO HERE

BAIT AND SWITCH PRACTICE!!! AVOID THIS STORE!!!

Went to website to set up appointment at Wake Forest, NC store to replace my broken screen. I was quoted $149 with a $10 discount it I signed up for the mailing list, which I did. When I arrived to store to drop off phone I was informed that the price was $179 for an after market screen and over $200 for an original Apple screen. When I questioned why it cost more then what I was quoted the guy told me “ there is a disconnect between our web site prices and our actual prices”. CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH PRACTICE which is a IMMORAL and SCUMBAG PRACTICE!!! Would not recommend this store or franchise to ANYBODY AT ANY TIME!!!

The worst experience I've ever had

This is the worst experience I've ever had with a repair. I was told Saturday morning they had everything they needed to fix my phone and would have it done that day. Until I came in, when they then told me I had to come back Tuesday. Tuesday I come back and they tell me they need 24-48 hours to run tests to see if it would be covered under warranty. Wednesday they say it's not covered under warranty but since I have additional insurance it'll be covered under that. I just have to submit a claim and it'll be done that day. When I show up Wednesday night to pick up my phone it hasn't even been started. They promise me that first thing Thursday morning it will be done. I call Thursday morning and they say they don't have the parts and need to special order them. They should be here Friday. I can pick up my phone Saturday. Meaning it's now been taken and entire week for a same day repair. And to think I didn't want to mail my phone to Samsung because it would have taken a full 3 days to fix.

Update: it now turns out that the part they need is due to the technician breaking my phone more during the repair.

I have used the South Lakeland, Fl based uBreakiFix shop twice to help me with a cellphone issue and was not charged. They were pleasant, knowledgeable, and helped resolve the cellphone problem quickly. I am so glad they have a location easy for me to get to and they are there for me to turn to when I have these tech problems. Thank you so much!

Don't go here they lost my console and then gave me back a piece of junk

Awful experience brought in a Xbox series X with minor water damage (I did all the important steps to take after water damage like leaving it off for a 24 hour period). They then proceeded to take it for two weeks with no contact and sent me an email thanking me for my visit. Got on customer support to ask if they still had it which they said yes and it was ready to be picked up. Came in 5 days later and they told me they couldn't find it and to contact them later that day. Called them later that day and was told they handed it off to someone else and to wait from a call from them to find out how we proceed. Finally after another week get told they have another Xbox Series X that I can pick up that might work. Pick it up the next day and its completely trashed and looks like it was thrown off a building. You can feel and see all the parts on the inside rolling around, the side panels are way bent out of shape, the bottom plate is completely missing and the area around the disc drive is melted, it obviously doesn't even work either. So disappointed with the service, at the very least I could've sold the other one for parts but this one is complete junk.

I dont recommend ever going here this was a nightmare

Santa Maria CA

Santa Maria CA, manager Ray
Long story short:
Extremely volatile, unprofessional and dishonest manager
1. They rarely answer their phone
So we had to travel 40 miles RT on multiple occasions just to find out what was going on.
2. Took laptop in for the convenience of a new battery as original battery only held charge for a couple of hours.
3. Told to bring laptop to store so they could order correct battery.
4. Received call that battery was in. Dropped off laptop and told it would be a one day job. We were warned that screen could crack on removal and would be additional cost. We accepted that risk.
5. 6/29-7/18 After multiple unanswered calls and trips to the store, told old battery was bent while removing, new battery won't work. Because I took it in functioning, I asked the manager to send it to the manufacturer for repair. After a very heated argument he agreed to forward my written request to the owner.
Now we will see if it's just him or the entire organization that's the problem

Do not ever use Ubreak Ifix

Do not ever use Ubreak Ifix. They give you a warranty and do not stand behind it. I got my Samsung Fold fixed in November last year due to the original screen breaking at the fold. They have a 12 month warranty. I also had dropped it breaking the back glass. Their Fold replacement screen made it until July. Then cracked at the fold. I went to have it replaced and They say because you can see it was dropped they will not warranty their screen. Yes it a as dropped and that was why I paid $220 for the rear glass on top of the cost of the inner screen too. THE INNER SCREEN BROKE AT THE FOLD AND YOU WON'T STAND BEHIND IT. YOU WILL NEVER GET MY BUSINESS AGAIN. I WILL ALSO DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO KEEP PEOPLE FROM USING YOUR BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!

Incompetent Repair Service

After calling the local uBreakiFix store in our region to discuss a problem, I took in my machine for repair. I work over 60-hours a week, so even a weekend jaunt is VERY expensive time-wise for me. On getting to the Marion, IL store, only one employee was managing the space. It took him over half an hour (!) to deal with the single customer in front of me. Meanwhile, my only day off is melting away and I still have tons of errands to run.

Once it was my turn, the employee checked me in with, "This is a simple repair." He promised the store would call me in under a week when the job was done. About a week later, I was called back to pick up my machine. When I got there, they informed me that because my machine is "older" (meaning over 2-3 years!), they wouldn't repair it as there's too great a liability risk for damaging it. WHAT? What kind of repair center can't repair a common electronic device just because it didn't come off the assembly line last year?

Worst of all, the staff is rude and curt. They don't even make eye-contact with you. You feel like THEY are doing YOU a favor by allowing you to drive to their store to give them money to ... do the job they advertise. Or in my case, NOT do their job.

I wasted two Saturdays taking a common small electronic device in for service only to wait in line for more than 30-minutes EACH TIME just to hear, at the end, that they lack the technical competence to actually do the repair they assured me on the phone they could do.

Today, I'm looking for a repair service for my common laptop brand. Their page came up first (uBreakiFix). Once I recognized their brand and the local store, I immediately canceled my repair job. Poor customer service + demonstrable incompetence = no business.
