Superb.
Was let down twice by Kwik-Fit for a mobile tyre fitting. Halford’s did it for half the price and the service was excellent. Online booking was very easy, emails were clear, got a phone call on the day when the very friendly technician was 20 minutes away and he got it done quickly. Would recommend
Brilliant Five Star service!
This is a completely unsolicited review, but I had to write something in light of the exceptional service I received from Halfords and in particular from Tom, the technician who replaced the battery in my car. I'd previously gone to a local supplier who frowned and tutted that they'd have to remove the air box and that would be a complicated job. Tom removed the old battery and replaced it with the new one in under 15 minutes! The whole process from ordering online to the two hour time slot, which was kept faultlessly was perfect. I highly recommend Halfords and I will use them again as my first choice for battery AND tyres. Brilliant Five Star service!

Technician who fitted my new tyres did not tighten the wheel nuts. This only came to light when I took the car to an independent garage the following day to rectify the wheel balance. Very scary to think, had I not done this, the wheel could have come off.

I used tyres on the drive by halfords today and was blown away by the service. They came on time, the engineer was friendly and polite and he changed the two front tyres on my Audi a3. 100% professionalism from Halfords and Tyres on the Drive
My battery had failed so called rescue services to get a jump start. After restarting battery it was reading as needing to be replaced ASAP due to not accepting charge, and advised to have it replaced at home.
As it was still under a 5 year guarantee I went through Halfords via email, ( they were very busy that day, the phones went through a loop of numbers and I had no joy with webchat bot) This was then sorted almost immediately! I received confirmation from Tyres on the Drive of an appointment giving four hour window 8am -12pm to replace faulty battery the following day.
On the morning of appointment I received a text from TotD as a reminder then a phone call from the mechanic saying he would be with me in 25 minutes. New battery fitted in under 20 minutes and car running like new again! I must commend all of the staff responsible for their professionalism in dealing with my problem. Many thanks to Jack from TotD Oldbury for coming out to me in early morning of a very cold day and finally getting me up and running. Thanks all 😊
Worst experience ever. Fraudsters and cheaters
Worst experience ever.
Fitter turns up with the incorrect tyres, says he'll reschedule to tomorrow, I tell him it's not possible. Do you think we can stay in all day for your mistakes.
I explain the car is being taken to a garage for work and Mot.
Says nothing he can do. Eventually he drives off and comes back with the correct tyres.
No real attempt to help. That evening I get an email confirming my appointment for tomorrow. Do clearly he was going to drive off, come back the next day (knowing I would be out) then sting me for £45 call out charge.
Used Halford once for a bike, did exactly the same scam tactics.
You're all fraudsters.
Ironically my other car requires a tyre and I will stay as far from you cowboys as possible.
Awful company. Your complaints email doesn't work, yet it's still on your booking emails, your website states to complain, click.. And that's it. Bunch of fraudsters.
10/10 Service
I needed my tyres changed in a hurry and Halfords were incredible, so easy to book a home visit. Tyler was on time, incredibly professional and very helpful (for someone like me who has no clue about cars it was really reassuring) 2 Tyres changed in 30 minutes. 10/10 cannot recommend enough!

I needed my car battery changed, a mechanic came next day, he was polite and professional, he did the job well and I ordered the incorrect battery for my car so he brought the correct one to save time and refunded me the difference in price. Fantastic. 👍🏻😀

Avoid at all costs
Absolutely woeful service. System flaws allowing incompatible tyres for vehicles. Cancel appointments within an hour of arrival then stick you to the back of the queue instead of providing actual customer service. Special mention to Gary from Warrington hub who was especially useless when cancelling customer bookings. It became so bad that I had to cancel order…I have now been assured refund is being processed on numerous occasions but this does not seem to be happening. Halfords are holding almost £200 and I have no idea if/when I will get this back. Avoid at all costs and shop local is my advice.

Absolute Clown Show
Booked for 8am-8pm on Saturday. Stayed in all day to make sure the job would be done. It said on our order number online that they had the tyre and would arrive between those hours. That was a lie. No one showed up, no communication, no call, no email.
We called on Sunday to ask what happened, the lady explained that there had been a lack of communication and no one on the tyre service team knew about our booking. Even though the website said they were on their way and that they had the tyre.
Fair enough, sometimes these things happen, so we just booked again for Tuesday, this time between 10am-12am. Who would have guessed, these jokers don’t show up. Online order number still stating they are going to arrive and they have the tyre.
At 2pm we call again, asking where these clowns are. The lady informs us they do not have the tyre so they can’t do the service. She then recommends we get a refund instead of rebooking. At this point, we just wanted to leave the circus, so we accepted and got a refund.
Throughout all of this the online order number tracker said they had the tyre and were due to arrive in the allotted time slot.
Do not book with these jesters, they have the communication skills of a brown trout you’d deposit the Sunday after a hard night out.
Incompetent Engineer & Withholding Money
Beware! Incompetent engineers unable to complete the job paid for then Halfords will ignore you and promise refunds that never arrive.
Waited 3 days for an engineer and when the young lad arrived he couldn’t remove the tyre, he admitted he should have a tool to get the tyre off but the company don’t provide it, he had to rush off to his next job so I was left on the roadside and had to pay someone local who came and sorted it out with no problems, no tools required he was shocked the Halfords engineer couldn’t complete the job.
I was told as the engineer couldn’t do the job that I’d get a refund however now Halfords are withholding my money and after hours on the phone the best I can get is “someone will call you back, we don’t know when” absolute shambles of a company.
I’ve tried calling them three times to address but just get passed around and promised callbacks that never materialise, lying staff and teammates that transfer calls back to the switchboard, in the end I’ve given up I’ll review anywhere I can find and I will be submitting small claims paperwork to recoup my money, purchase at your own risk.

Best avoid, unable to remove wheel
Edit: Despite your response I am still waiting for someone to contact me, I can only assume you have replied to my review to give the impression of a functioning customer service department.
Despite his best efforts the fitter could not remove 1 of the wheels due to a combination of problem wheel nuts and only having 1 socket which he risked breaking if he tried to remove wheel. This is the second time this has happened with tyres on the drive. Why I decided to try them again I will never know. Why are these guys so ill prepared and equipped to remove a car wheel, its not like I was asking someone for a favour, its a paid for service. Now I have the added cost of getting the tyre fitted elsewere. Not to mention I have been charged for a tpms service on the wheel that could not be taken off.
Also the email address to contact in case of problems is not monitored nor are any of the other contact emails for halfords so I will have to waste time on a webchat or phone call. I really get the impression that your fitters do not enjoy being put in this position.

Refused to make a refund as promised
Service itself was good. However their behaviour since leaves a lot to be desired.
Booked a repair or replace service. And the tyre was repaired.
Halfords have however taken payment for the new tyre and refused to refund the cost of the new tyre as they are supposed to.
When I spoke to them on the phone they committed to refusing the money which has still not arrived.

2 x faulty batteries within 3yrs!
2 x faulty batteries within 3yrs!! despite having a 5yr guarantee. tried calling yesterday and was on hold for about 15mins to then get through and no one speaking on the other end!! called back numerous times within 1hr then i gave up! absolute jokers! sent an email and still had no reply....suprise suprise!! had to jump start car to take it to nearest retail store who changed it over but said this will have to be the last battery change over despite the guarantee still valid for another 2yrs! i will NEVER get anymore batteries off them in future.....i will be going elsewhere. APPALLING SERVICE!! my advice is to steer clear and get your battery elsewhere as their batteries seem to be FAULTY!! if i could leave zero stars i would.

Absolutely awful experience
Absolutely awful experience.
Purchased x4 winter tyres.
1st time technician didn’t turn up despite confirmation of order. Called customer service the purchase hadn’t gone through despite the tyres being paid in full. Was assured a manager would call to discuss. No phone call.
Finally after 4 days rebooked.
Second time they didn’t turn up. Customer services couldn’t contact technician or depot tried on multiple occasions.
Advised it was another computer error.
I ve now cancelled order but refund will take up to 5 days.

Beware there's no warranty
The service on the day itself was good -easy to book, convenient, turned up on time. However, beware that there is no warranty. I just called them because one of the two tyres fitted has been deflating more than the other since it was fitted (no sign of any puncture/damage from the road, so we suspect a manufacturing default) and they said there was no warranty and weren't able to offer any help - they just suggested I paid the normal price for them to come out and do a puncture repair (like I say, I'm pretty sure it's not a puncture). I'll be booking elsewhere and reading the T and C's more closely next time.

Bad experience so far
Booked for Thursday 5th for tyres to be fitted, he hit a pot hole and couldn't make it, on Monday today got another appointment, compresser in van not working, rang customer services, now booked in for Wednesday, The email has an email to contact, this doesn't work says it's no longer monitored, poor experience so far

Customer services is absolutely shocking left on the phone for 30 mins, missed a call from them because there vans broke down which is no problem,just wanted to check they would be coming tomorrow,
Rings customer services can’t even understand them and they ask you a question then just play music on hold back and fourth so rude!
Hopefully will arrive tomorrow …..
probably put me off ever using this company again and I always have !
