TWINO is a scam

TWINO is a scam. They have made sure, I don’t login to the platform and don’t open their emails. They made sure I am a “sleeper”. This is what users like me are called. Then they sent me an email (I hopefully won’t receive or open) announcing that from next month on they will charge me for inactivity. They will charge 10€ each month for not using the platform.

If you receive an email like this or have any other issues with this platform, contact your local financial authorities.

I’m based in Germany, so I will contact BaFin and the Verbraucherzentrale for awareness and an official complaint.

As TWINO is regulated in Latvia by Latvijas Banka, it is also important to contact them.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your review.

First of all, please note that the inactivity fee was introduced several months ago, and customers were informed about it by email. In addition, information on how to avoid the inactivity fee is available in our FAQ section.

TWINO is not a bank where funds are intended to be stored. It is an investment platform where customers can manage their funds by investing in loan securities.

Regarding the recent platform maintenance, customers were also informed in advance by email. Additionally, a banner was displayed on the main page for several days to notify clients and allow them to plan their financial decisions accordingly.

If there is anything we have not addressed or if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at info@twino.eu. Our team will be happy to assist you as soon as possible.

Incompetence and impotence

So I bought a lot of Vietnamese investments in the secondary market. They were all marked (and still are!) as active. Even though the Vietnamese company is dead and insolvent. No information can be found on the website. Their communication with investors is through emails that you may or may not even receive. But who cares? They don't. Don't recommend using Twino to anyone. Everything they touch turns to shit.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for sharing your feedback.

We truly understand your concerns regarding the Vietnam loan securities, and we completely understand how disappointing and frustrating this situation may feel. We know that every investment matters, and we never take that lightly.

As previously communicated by email to investors holding Vietnam loan securities, the most recent distribution related to these loans represents the final payment that could reasonably be expected under the existing guarantee arrangements. The recovered amount has already been allocated to investors in line with our standard distribution process.

Please be assured that we continue to closely monitor the situation. Should there be any material developments or unexpected additional recoveries in the future, we will immediately inform affected investors. At this stage, however, no further distributions are currently anticipated.

If you would like to discuss your specific case or have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We would like to clarify a few important points.

First, regarding Russian loans — we provided a solution to all affected investors. Emails were sent individually to each client, with the first communication issued on January 27, 2026, followed by several reminders. In addition, notifications were displayed as banners within clients’ profiles to ensure the information was clearly visible.

Second, concerning the inactivity fee — it is important to clarify how it works. If your portfolio consists of delayed loan securities and you do not hold an uninvested available balance, no inactivity fee is applied. The fee is only charged when funds remain uninvested in your account for more than six months. However, clients can withdraw their funds at any time. In simple terms, you always have the option to either invest or withdraw your available balance to avoid the inactivity fee.

Regarding account security, we apply standard password requirements along with an optional two-factor authentication (2FA) feature to provide an additional layer of protection. If you experience any difficulties, our client support team is always happy to assist at info@twino.eu.

If you still have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

Best regards,

Dear Dan,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We would like to clarify that the introduction of the inactivity fee is not intended to mislead or disadvantage our investors. Its purpose is to encourage clients to use TWINO as an active investment platform, rather than a place to store unused funds. Even inactive accounts require ongoing operational maintenance, regulatory oversight, and reporting, which generate costs on our side.

Additionally, all investors are notified several times in advance before the inactivity fee is applied. This gives every client plenty of time to withdraw or reinvest their unused funds if they prefer not to keep them on the platform.

You can read more details about the inactivity fee here: https://www.twino.eu/en/how-it-works/faq/question?q=inactivity-fee

Used to be one of the best EU P2P companies, fully regulated, licensed, registered brokers. I would grade them 8/10. Then came pandemic, war and that all was understandable when you invest. But first they removed mobile app and worst of all fully stopped communication for a year. You sell trust, and you lost it.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback — we truly appreciate your honesty and the trust you placed in TWINO over the years.

We completely understand your concerns regarding the communication gap and the removal of the mobile app. Over the past few years, TWINO has gone through significant challenges and internal changes brought by external circumstances, such as the pandemic and geopolitical events. Unfortunately, this also impacted how we communicated with our investors for a certain period — and we sincerely regret that.

We want to assure you that TWINO is now fully operational, with an even stronger focus on transparent communication, platform improvements, and investor support. The mobile app is also planned to return in the near future.

Thank you again for your understanding and for staying with us through these changes. Your feedback genuinely helps us improve and rebuild the trust that TWINO stands for.

If you have any questions in the future, feel free to contact us at info@twino.eu

The proceeds are good despite the clunky website. I've had a hard time figuring out why 9 euros of interest were not auto invested. Asking through chat was a bit disappointing, since an answer came weeks later. In the meantime, I found out that there's a minimum of 10 euros.
Like I said: the proceeds are good, so don't let this keep you from investing here.

Long established.

Twino has been around for many years and I've always had a good return from them. Yes I had Russian loans but I don't blame Twino for Putins illegal war. Stick to their core Polish loans and there have been no problems. Website is easy to navigate and the secondary market is lively and I was recently able to quickly sell all my holdings due to a payment commitment.

3 year experience summary

I had a small sum of British pounds which I invested over 3 years ago to learn about Twino and P2P loans. My returns are steady in line of my expectations. Information and feedback is good. Although I never withdrew any of my funds, there is no signal or reason that they are not safe. I plan to invest more in euro's in the near future.

Investing with Twino

Loan Securities: As far as it concerns loans securities experience is good, although it lacks offerings from other countries than PL, thus one has to manage part of portfolio elsewhere for diversification. Concerning defaulted loans (VN, PH), it is a mess. I do not see them properly reflected in statements so I cannot account losses when I will pay tax.
Primary market: It has always securities to offer. Interest rates are ok.
Secondary market: it is much appreciated thanks to the zero fees.
Cashback campaigns: rules lately have become tricky, not really appreciated by investors, comparing to the past and what other platforms offer.
Loyalty bonus: Not existing and it is makes me really sad. Other platforms are offering up to 2% for loyalty.
Referral campaigns: These are broadly advertised but when new investors try to understand the terms, outdated information (e.g. pages still refer to past campaigns and rules, not current ones) gets in the way.
Cashout: all good. No delays.

Hi,

Thank you for the detailed review, we really appreciate it. :)

We're very upset ourselves about the situation with the defaulted loans and our commitment to recovering funds for our investors remains as strong as ever. You can read the latest update from our CEO here:

A loyalty bonus is something we plan to implement in the future, and we’ll also make sure that cashback campaign information is clearer going forward.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback.
