Tweezerman Slant Tweezers

When I bought my first pair of the 'Tweezerman' full size stainless steel slant tweezers in the later 1990s from Myers in Australia, I was very impressed with the quality, ease, profiency and precision of using them. I noticed that these specific tweezers were made in India. I was so impressed, that it seemed they were too good to be true.

And, these tweezers prevailed over the years still maintaining a high benchmark which I expect any tweezers that I own to live up to. Then, one day, I somehow lost this first Tweezerman.

I reverted back to my Revlon tweezers which did not meet the benchmark. Then, about three or seven years later I decided to buy another pair of Tweezerman slanted tweezers for $33, but to my disappointment they failed to impress. These tweezers still appeared to look solid and well made, but the precision was no longer there. I could not grab each hair and it turned into a game of hit or miss. The sharp tweezers also caused scarring on my face after each use.

Specifically, I noticed that the way these tweezers were sharpened were not the same when compared to my original Tweezerman made in India. I could see that the grooves on the inner side of the tweezer tips did not seem to be as deep and numerous, so would not be as effective at tightly gripping each hair.

My original Tweezerman tweezers gripping tips had deeper grooves and numerous sharpened cut lines which appeared like a vibrant prism. That is why the precision was so great! Each hair was grabbed quickly and precisely. Each hair would slide out effortlessly without causing any scarring like magic.

Then some years later, I bought my third pair which again failed to impress. And, I am not sure why I did not complain about the two or three tweezers and and return them back to the store. A waste of money and I was permanently put off.

Today, I am considering sending my Tweezermans to the US for possible sharpening. I wonder if they can correct the major flaw.

The key is in the specific skill of sharpening and know how. I wonder if I will ever find another???

Poor customer service for UK customers

In the past I found it was impossible to get any proper customer service after sending tweezers from the UK for resharpening. I had to follow up for months before my tweezers were returned - well after the anticipated date.

My experience was so bad that I now just buy a new pair as it is cheaper than going through the process of paying for the postage and waiting for a minimum of 3 to 4 months for your tweezers to be returned.

I do not recommend Tweezerman and have negative feelings about the way it operates - mainly due to the fact that it does not value its customers and the woeful service it provides.

Bad Quality, colour flaked off.

I paid extra for the lash curlers that came with a pointless eyelash comb because I loved the blue colour. However the colour just flaked off, showing the silver underneath. I contact Tweezerman and received no response. Despite their scruffiness, the curlers still work beautifully.

Poor quality

Poor quality, i bought the black clippers and also the stainless steel clippers. They are both horrible. They slide off the nail, opening is too small to grip the nail, etc.
Not usable.

They offer “free” sharpening for their tweezers; that may be so however the tweezers have to go to the USA for sharpening at our cost of postage which is circa £16 (out and return)! If you offer “free” sharpening it should be no cost and in the UK if you retail here!

Chasing refunds

Placed an order online for the Curl 38 lash curler and a mirror compact. The lash curler did absolutely nothing for my lashes like other drugstore own brands do. Paying nearly £20 (!!) for a lash curler, you would expect at least something. Customer service was a nightmare to get hold of, having to chase. To be told that I couldn’t return the lash curler as it had been opened. I explained it had no effect at all but understandably, they couldn’t resell this. Returning the mirror was such a hassle compared to other companies - it’s like it’s set up in a way where you decide to keep it but persevered with getting a refund. Then has to continue to chase a refund due to no update whatsoever.

Gold tweezers puchased at £24

Gold tweezers puchased at £24 - very expensive but not effective. I bought a smaller mini pink Tweezerman pair which were much cheaper and have been far more effective. Tweezerman was not interested in my comments. I see no point in spending more on their expensive brand, which is certainly not worth it.

This company lies and scams

This company lies and scams.

Sent tweezers off to be sharpened and almost 2 months later, the company claims they were never received despite proof of delivery.

The customer service representatives are incredibly rude and unhelpful - one word replies ignoring the issue at hand and then get defensive when you call them up on this.

Clearly this sharpening service for life is a marketing ploy and in the process they’ve effectively stolen my products.

Expensive CRAP!

Hello ALL at Tweezerman
I had an old, good quality and comfortable to hold in hand Tweezerman nail scissors, but they got lost somewhere in the house. I searched the house, but I couldn’t find nail scissors I liked a lot, so I decided to buy new Tweezerman nail scissors. I couldn’t find the same design nail scissors, so I purchased new design Tweezerman nail scissors. I am very disappointed about the new design scissors. They are a complete expensive CRAP - rubbish. Why did you discontinue a good design and quality scissors and approved a mass production of a COMPLETE CRAP? Who created a design of the new Tweezerman nail scissors? Who approved the quality of a crap? Who tried the crap before mass production? And many more questions. New design Tweezerman nail scissors are extremely uncomfortable to hold. They are hurting my fingers! Can I return your expensive CRAP for a full refund (it was purchased not directly from you but another retailer)?
Stop discontinuing good quality products and creating new bad quality CRAP!

Faulty, unusable product

I won’t be buying any further Tweezerman products. Their customer service does nothing about faulty products, that became unusable within months of purchase.

Complete waste of money

I just spent £23 on tweezers that need to go straight in the bin! Wow i am so disappointed with the point tweesers which are unfit for purpose! There is NO precision what so ever they don't even work as the end bit twists as soon as you put slight pressure on them to actually pluck! They do not tweeze anything and are worse than the £2 tweezers i bought on ebay. I wany my money back!

Turnaround Time is a Joke

I sent in tweezers to have them sharpened. Although it's nice that they do this for free, it is RIDICULOUS that it takes 10-12 weeks for them to mail them back. How long can it take to sharpen a little tweezer??
And they didn't seem any sharper than when I mailed them in.

Utter sh*te

I bought the tweezerman facial hair removal tool (£22) and a it's complete b*llocks. Was getting no sensation to referred to YouTube video. This appeared more likely to succeed but no. You can feel it pulling on the hair but despite many attempts no hair is removed. I have very fine hair so maybe it's better if you're more wiry but the coils just barely grasped the hair and certainly didn't pull it out. Complete waste of money so I'm hoping there's no issue taking them back for a refund.

Great product

Great product! Bought the slanted tweezers and the ingrown hair ones. So far the slanted tweezers have been brilliant! I have been amazed at how precise they have been. I am very pleased so far with my new investment

I do agree with some reviews relating to the packing, I think they could revamp this and make it more eco friendly. I have an old set from about 13 years ago and the plastic packing on this was even smaller than the new packing.

So disappointed

Many years ago I bought a pair of tweezers from this company. They were the best tweezers I’d ever owned. Recently, they have begun to be a bit hit and miss and then I accidentally left them at home on a trip so I decided it was time to shell out for a new pair.

Initially I bought one of their less pricey pairs. They were awful. The ends of the tweezers were rough and scratchy and, rather than neatly pull the hairs out, they more often than not cut them where they gripped. I was a bit bemused that they should be so bad after my previous pair, so put it down to a bad batch and decided to return them.

Before I got round to doing that I again forgot to take my original tweezers on a trip so I bought a more expensive new pair of Tweezerman tweezers - absolutely rubbish again for the same reasons. Almost unable to extract a hair without cutting it and rough as anything on the ends.

My original ones were very efficient and very smooth - much kinder to the skin. It’s such a disappointment to find that a company who impressed me so much before are now producing such second rate items. I won’t be buying from them again and now have two rubbish pairs to return.

Stole my tweezers

My tweezers became dull and needed sharpening. Since they offer free sharpening I decided to try it out and sent them in. I had them folded up in paper in a paper envelope that was taped shut. They say the envelope was empty, they must have fallen out. There’s absolutely no way that happened. I put another pair of old tweezers in an envelope the exact same way and mailed them to myself. Perfectly fine. Stole my tweezers and leave me with nothing. Don’t ever send them anything for sharpening, they will say it never arrived!!
