We chose Solarlux bifold doors after seeing it at the self-build exhibition. Solarlux also allowed us to have much higher doors made (at 2.4m high) which we were seeking. On top of this the build quality of these doors is fantastic with a 20 year warrantee via TVW. TVA were the main suppliers so we were keen to work with the team at TVW to get these manufactured and installed by them.
Having then visited the TVW showroom we decided to also use TVW for our two new wooden sash windows as we needed them to also match the doors. A fantastic job on the install as well. Very impressive. On time and budget. Thank you.

The door is beautiful and works well so far. We are very pleased with it. I'm a little unsure about the cost which appears to be double the average price of such a door, but it is quality so I suppose we should have expected to pay more. Overall, we're happy.

Needed a replacement window contacted Thames Valley who installed the original one they still had our records on file after 20 years and had all the sizes quickly arranged a new one. Great customer service especially from Sasha who kept me informed all the way. Well done.

All good! TVW Designer was extremely helpful and very patient, especially with my various changes. All their other staff were also very professional, patient, helpful and thorough. I’m so pleased with the results - fabulous windows, which are regularly admired, not to mention the front door which is second to none. Thank you TVW. Great job!

TVW recently replaced a large leaded bay and two upstairs windows for us. We were very pleased with all aspects of the service. Our main point of contact, Rob, was very helpful throughout the choice/design process. We were uncertain of what to go for at several points during the process and Rob went above and beyond in helping us understand our options and make the right choices. The fitting team, lead by Jason, were very professional. There were several areas of uncertainty around what we could/could not retain and they managed to do everything we wanted. They took the best part of a day after fitting to ensure that the finish was as professional as all other aspects of the service. I would highly recommend TVW.

Thames valley supplied out original doors, windows and bifolds, so when it was time to replace it was obvious choice to go back. We’ve had no issue for the lifetime of the products, after 12 years we decided to replace a door.
Great range of products in the showroom - kept informed of delivery/installation date after ordering and it actually arrived a week early.
Solidly built and great installation that was fast and efficient.
Highly recommend from start to finish.

We had all our windows and two doors installed by this company in 2010. After about 8 or 9 years the windows started to ‘flop’ down when open. Then the back door started to stick occasionally until a couple of years ago when it could only be opened by turning the key. The front door started to play up also. We called them out to see if they could repair it. I was shown how to repair the windows (which I have to do now each time I open any of them) and he fiddled with the front door, which worked for a while but is sticking again. However, I was told that the back door mechanism was no longer manufactured but they would see if they could find replacement parts. I chased up again this year and was assured that the manufacturer had another mechanism that would fit. I was asked to pay a 50% deposit which I was happy about knowing that the door at last would be usable. When it arrived to be fitted there was no way that this was similar or could be modified so I was told they would go back to the manufacturer and get back to me. 7 weeks after transferring the deposit, I have now been told that there is nothing that would work.
It would seem that this is common practice with them. The manufacturer gives them assurances to secure business, they take your money then you spend endless time chasing them up only to find that you’ve wasted months for no result. I have been refunded the money but the whole experience has been very disappointing. I would never have had the whole house replaced with their windows and doors had I known that there would only be 10 years of life and that they discontinue mechanisms which cannot be replaced.

Disappointing after sales service.
The pre-sales service was good, barring some slightly pushy tactics (i.e. we need you to sign today or you'll miss the cut off for the manufacturing slot....) they were responsive and gave good design input.
Following signing there were significant delays in receiving the window. Accept this was pandemic related and beyond their control, but communication could have been a little better to manage expectations.
Another little hiccup when the window arrived and the fitter initially thought one piece was the wrong size, leading to a days delay - not a big deal and overall happy with the fitting service.
Problems came with the post-installation service......not long after installation one of the large triple glazed panes in the bifold spontaneously shattered. Warranty was clear that breakage caused by a 3rd party would not be covered, however Thames Valley claim that 'spontaneous shattering' comes under this heading despite no damage having been done to the window - they tried to tell me a bird must have hit the glass, or a stone - despite the fact that it was the interior pane that had shattered and there had been no birds in the kitchen!
Our own research showed that spontaneous shattering is not that uncommon in new glass, and the cause is usually either defects in the glass or a knock during installation. A contact in the commercial building industry confirmed this having looked at the the shatter patterns.
Thames Valley refused to send anyone out to inspect the window to see if this could be the cause. The only course of action they would accept was for us to pay for a new pane to be installed.
With a shattered pane of glass inside the house posing a safety issue we felt held to ransom, we had no choice but to pay to get the clock ticking for delivery of a replacement ASAP (as we were told this could take up to 6 weeks).
All in all really surprised and disappointed by this from a company that prides itself on reputation and customer service. At the very least we would have expected them to send an expert to inspect the glass and discuss the cause.
