They will sell you rental and cancel your reservation without any communication

Amber Scheel listed as the host. No communication. Reservation was cancelled 2 months before we were supposed to leave. The property was sold to another company. The company that purchased the property was trying to honor previous reservations but could not get the company to pass on the information. When they refunded my money they did not refund insurance. When messaged did not respond.

After having our payments 'retained' by…

After having our payments 'retained' by Turnkey and asked for $1000 more to use our 'credit' for the same house that still is under quarantine and unable to ski, now Turnkey responds to my review: read it for yourself, it's garbage!
And to add insult to injury, after removing every negative review from myself and many others on LinkedIn, they alleged that I was misusing Linkedin and got me banned from the site to prevent my further complaints! This company is unscrupulous and manipulative. My best hope for them is they end like the Madoff clones they are.

Is this company a scam

Is this company a scam?

I pre paid for my rental with turnkeyrentals.com for a VRBO place in Florida for 2 weeks. We wire transfered the money for $13K for a home in Februrary. Paige had emailed us and I found a home to rent. Once we sent the money we have still not received a confirmation receipt. We have made over 8 requests. Is this company a scam? Bad service and we havent event arrived at the property. No telephone number to help us?

Spiral Staircase

This property was very cozy and comfortable. Emily is a fantastic host and her mom, who lives downstairs, is eager to be helpful to guests. This property only has access via an outdoor spiral staircase, so guests with mobility challenges or oversized luggage may find it difficult to enter and exit.

This place is a scam

I would give them zero if I could. We rented with them through airbnb and thank god we are protected through airbnb. Our local host was completely unresponsive to questions. The main number does zero to help you. We checked in late because we couldn’t get proper info. The upstairs of our unit had no legal exit because the door was locked. The amenities listed were not actually there. On the second night a man entered our property from his first floor unit. Apparently there was a door connecting the two that didn’t lock. He seemed drunk and we couldn’t understand him but he wouldn’t close the door. It was bedtime for my kids and we had to pack everything and find a hotel. When i called the women put me on hold for 20 minutes. I had to hang up to get out of there and no one ever called me back to see if we were ok. This place is a total scam. Do not trust them.

Top Notch Experience All Around

The entire experience from first call to checkout was top notch. The property was clean and even nicer than advertised, with lovely vintage furnishings. I'd not hesitate to book through Turnkey again, and I would TOTALLY stay at this property again.

We never received door code

We never received door code. TurnKey finally replied 8 hours after our check in time. We had already contacted Airbnb to cancel the reservation and book with a more competent company while waiting for a reply. In the year 2023 and the availability of options for digital communication a reply should not take 8 hours. A key part of the day in this type of business is to have someone watching all communications from 3pm-6pm during check in times at all places under your umbrella.

Horrible place to rent from

Such a joke, this turnkey vacation rentals is a horrible place to rent from. There is a state of emergency up in San Bernardino mts where we rented the cabin, roads are closed and there is an official state of emergency and they won't refund us our money? Stay away from Turnkey vacation rentals, they will rip you off no matter what!

What a nightmare

What a nightmare
I made a reservation 3 months ago which was confirmed weekly by this company all the way up to the day prior to arrival.

Then I received a cancelation saying that the property was not a part of their program anymore.

I made an 2nd reservation then a 3rd.
My son made a reservation.

We panicked, we had family flying in from all over the country for a New Years Eve reunion.

I'm left paying for 3 diff reservations, waiting 15 days for a refund which were all canceled at the very last minute. AND no money left to for new accommodations for my family.

FRAUD!!!!!

losers and thiefs, slumloard company

Do not rent from these people they are a slumloard company. they are there to take your money and jack up your rental rates. they dont honor or take papers of a damaged rental place causing you to lose your security deposit. they are thiefs. they charged me $2k in damages when i moved out because they wanted the damaged property fully restored. they would not take a pictures of the damaged rental place. they put me in collections and damaged my credit 2 years later after moving out. these people are not to be trusted and should be avoided at all costs. they are money hungry and are slumlords. they cant take care of H.O.A dues and nathen is unreliable. they jack your rent up over $120.00 on renewing you renal agreement. they dont take care of their tenants. i hope the H.O.A took the house away from you people for youll never see a dime from me

This company is not trustworthy

This company is very unorganized, does not accept responsibility, nor protect us, the consumers from being mistreated by property owners.
I had a cabin booked in Dec of 2021. When I arrived there was another family already in the cabin, it had been double booked. I was told by many people after this experience that Trip Advisor is one of the worst businesses for this & it has happened a lot. Instead of accepting responsibility, they blamed it on the property owner. I did receive a refund for my trip, however, we had already drove 8 hours from home with our extended family & young children(3 months old!). Due tot he busy season we spent our vacation spending more $ trying to jump around to what hotels we could find. We used more gas $ due to commuting to what places we could find to stay, it was stressful & we also spent more $ on food since we were going to cook in the cabin. Trip advisor emailed me promising 5 night free stay from the property owner. It has almost been a year & this has still not been up kept. The owner has ghosted me after first discussing it & sending possible dates & Turn Key has me dumping through hoops simply to say, “sorry the property owner won’t reply to us.”

I have and will continue to formally request that the Property owner be removed from Trip Advisor’s Website since they are not adhering to the guidelines Or that Turn Key find me an equivalent rental for free for 5 nights as promised. Stop pointing fingers & making excuses & show your customers you can be trusted to stand in our corner!

THEY CANCELLED OUR TRIP LESS THAN 48 HOURS BEFORE CHECK-IN

I wish I could give this company a 0 star review.

My group booked a trip 3 months in advance for the week of July 4th and our rental was CANCELLED less than 48 hours before our check-in time with no prior notice other than a text I received while I was ON MY WAY driving to the vacation house for the trip. When I reached out for an explanation, I was not given one and the associate on the phone mentioned not being able to offer any assistance as this was final. Keep in mind, each member in our group of 6 was either flying in or traveling 7+ hours by car. There was no effort made to find us a house nearby, to reimburse flights, or offer any credit to another rental. They simply said good luck less than TWO DAYS before one of the busiest travel weeks of the year and refunded the money to my account.

The next day I was told that the owner made the decision to pull their house (with no explanation why). Meanwhile, after a little research, their house was posted on a different rental site. When I questioned Turnkey about this, they stumbled with an answer and offered no solution to rectify the situation that had now evolved other than the fact this was probably a mistake...

Luckily there is no shortage of rental homes, HOWEVER the day before the fourth of July weekend it is no surprise that the house we found to accommodate all of us (with our own beds) cost $6,000 more for the week. Again, there was no effort from Turnkey to provide a remotely positive experience at that moment or in the future.

Thankfully the trip was a success and my group really made the most out of it. Bottom line. DO NOT use this company or any company associated with it as this was the worst travel experience (logistically speaking) of my life.

Turnkey, Guestworks or Vacasa - which is it and do they know each other exist?

My credit card was declined because I had cancelled my account so that is on me. However, I received a text message with a customer service number of 888-639-4995. When i called that number it was a number for vacasa. Three different people tried to help me, but could find no record of my reservation - using my name, phone, number or the reservation confirmation. I was on the phone with them for 20 minutes. I!m not sure what the deal is with so many different names for this service - Guestworks, Turnkey, Vacasa. Eventually, I was able to resolve the issue online, but it was very frustrating to get a text indicating I had 3 hours to fix a problem by calling a phone number for people who could not help me. This is not my first reservation with Turnkey, and other aspects of this service have gone fine.
