I have a solid 18inch calf…

I have a solid 18inch calf measurement... Yup... No joke - and I'm only 5'2 with size 5 feet - which means the concept of long boots was something I had long dismissed as the market doesn't cater for these ratios.

I have tried all the leading brands "wide calf" and "sporting calf" sizes, always left feeling defeated, upset, frustrated and disappointed in my own body. I took a trip over to Tuffa Boots with the expectation of purchasing ankle boots and chaps.

What can I say... If you struggle to find a boot that fits you properly, you're a "funny shape" or "odd proportion" go visit them over at Dereham - they were so welcoming and not at all phased by my sizing issues - they were patient and knowledgeable. Their boots are absolutely beautiful. British design, manufactured in Portugal and made to an exceptional standard.

These are boots made with a job in mind, made to last and be fully functional. Also something you learn shopping for wide calf boots is they often end up looking big, boxy and cumbersome - not at Tuffa - their boots flatter and accentuate the right places, they're not heavy or oversized.

I now get the pleasure of breaking these beautiful boots in ready to enjoy a spring/summer of riding ahead. And yes... I absolutely also brought a pair of chaps because it's nice to have options!

Terrible After Sales Customer Care. Stay Well Clear

I bought my wife a pair of Tuffa Country Riding boots for Christmas which she loved. But she had only worn them 5 or 6 times when there was an issue with the heel cap on one of the boots and she struggled to get the boot on. I contacted Tuffa, they asked for pictures and then for the boots to be returned. After returning then, I was told it was a wear issue!! I questioned how it could be wear since the boots were almost new, to be told again it was wear and the damage was caused by my wife. I cannot believe that Tuffa can use this excuse, and they also think it is acceptable that such a new pair of their boots could be damaged so easily through normal wear end tear. I was offered 20% off a new pair of boots which I obviously declined due to the issues with the previous pair. My wife had specifically asked for new Tuffa boots because she already had a pair and loved them, although a different design which zipped up the back. The new ones I bought her were slip on, and it was this design which gave the issue. Loved the boots but after care was hopeless. DO NOT BUY or risk the same treatment if you have issues.

Give Tuffa boots a very wide berth

Well what can I say apart from I would never Recommend Tuffa boots to anybody in the racing community
I bought my sandown winter race boots from a company that use Tuffa boots as one of their suppliers and after about 9 months my boots had started to leak and the sole come away I got in touch with who I bought them from who went to Tuffa who didn’t want to know so I contacted Tuffa myself and WOW WOW WOW what an experience that was I spoke to Michelle who is actually the owner of the company and all I can say is her customer service is horrendous she had absolutely no interest in the fact that I was unhappy with my product and when I said to her that I wouldn’t recommend her products to anyone in racing she accused me of blackmail all I can say is I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE FOR ANY TYPE OF BOOT AS THE OWNER OF THIS COMPANY HAS NO RESPECT FOR HER CUSTOMERS AND THE WAY SHE SPEAKS TO HER CUSTOMERS is disgusting and disrespectful so I can not steer enough to go to a different supplier

A Big Thumbs Up From Me

I have brought several pairs of boots, chaps and gloves from Tuffa in Norfolk and have been very impressed with the products and people. The lady I dealt with today was so very helpful and sorted out my order for me. I have always found them to be a first class “shop” for all my riding needs. Thank you and a Big Thumbs Up from me .....

Sandown winter boots

Bought a pair of Sandown winter boots. Zip and stitching of certain areas broken within 4 months.
I spoke to a very unhelpful lady who said it was due to mud. Boots are advertised for all weathers. She was very unhelpful.
Stay well clear

Tuffa Boots Split After Little Wear

Bought the Tuffa Boots. After very little wear (and had been well looked after, not used in mud etc., they split down the side on each boot. Contacted the NZ supplier and basically got no response. Contacted Tuffa in the UK and they couldn't care less as outside of the 6 month guarantee. At $180 a pair and having been hardly worn, I feel they should last longer than this. Hardly any wear on the soles and sent photos so certainly not up to the job.

Great service only let down a bit by Hermes

I ordered Trakherner chaps on behalf of my sister who was hoping to use them for a show, they were despatched almost immediately according to their email, however they use Hermes who are spectacularly useless at delivering here (we are a bit in the sticks) and they didn't arrive within the suggested time frame but two days later.
