I have been with a Fi Collar for 5…

I have been with a Fi Collar for 5 years . I don’t know why this company service is going downhill. It has been a great collar & service has been great. But I have spent the last two weeks attempting to get the hardware to function. Working with customer support, we have completely troubleshot the collar, the base, and my local Wi-Fi connection, but the system fails to work. We have replaced both the collar & the base. Every single day, support claims they are "escalating to the tech team," but no one ever contacts me or resolves the issue. I am paying for a hardware and subscription service that has not worked. I specifically asked them to get this fixed before the 4th of July because my dog is a runner & is scared of fireworks. This was a very important for me to get this done. Today is 7/8/26. I still do not have a working collar. I want an executive representative to contact me immediately to either ship a fully tested replacement setup or issue a full refund for all hardware and associated subscription costs. I am tired of waiting for someone to call me back & it takes 24 hours for someone to email me back. This is not acceptable.

I couldn't imagine living without my FI collars!!!

Fi is such WONDERFUL company! We've had them for years for our 2 pups, and they're not even escape artists. The customer service is top notch, we have peace of mind that our pets are safe, and between our 12 Ring cameras their Fi collars, our dogs are never out of our sight. It's not just a bluetooth device that will fail you once the collars are far enough away from your phone. The connect to the charging base by bluetooth if they're at home, to your phone when you leave for walks or day trips, and if you don't have your phone, they connect to the cellular network. It is very accurate. However, if you have multiple dogs, their step count may differ, so keep that in mind. If my partner is walking the dogs and I run into the store, I receive constant updates of the addresses of where my dogs are located, changing minute by minute as they walk along the stores nearby. They record our dogs steps, and were able to look at all of our walks to see how many steps they took, how many miles they walked, how much charge is on the collars, and more. I LO E having their lrofile, too! We didn't have to pay any extra fees when more features came out, such as monitoring for rest, barking, licking, scratching, eating, and drinking. The app is extremely easy to use! There is a community, just like social media, that you can post more pictures and videos on and comment and react to others' posts. I love setting up the safe zones for my house, my friends and mother's house, too. It's the charging base is fall offline, I'll receive a push and email notification if they have been offline for more than 30 minutes. Everything is extremely easy to initially set up. If I remember correctly, the charging bases or 2.4 gigahertz connection on wi-fi. What I really like about this company is that they answer all customer service emails for their current clients first. I really liked that. They they're always sending out new information and features, such as integration to the Apple watch, and I really hope Android is next! Customer service always answers within a timely manner, and have been nothing but friendly from day one. You don't have to fight with them to get your free month of membership when it is promised, they have a referral program, I just can't say enough good things about this company. I have absolutely zero complaints. If you do have any issues or questions, they will go out of their way to break everything down for you. For the memberships, it's actually not as expensive as I thought it would be, and the more you spend the more you save. The colors are easy to remove and place on the charger, each of them have a little light that you can turn on from the app, too. The best feature of all is the "Lost Dog Mode." I have all of Fi's info on our dogs microchips, and Fi will help you locate them when they are lost. He will get updates immediately and consistently when they are in lost dog mode. Otherwise, when you leave your house for a walk and exit the safe zone, it may take up to 5 minutes to start receiving a few notifications. This hasn't failed us yet. You can receive email and text notifications along with push notifications. Your dogs have their own profile in the app for the community just like social media. I can't say enough about this company except that I'm glad I chose them. I'm not sure I could live without these collars again while having pets. There's so much more I can speak on, but try them yourselves, and you'll see. Great company. 💕 🐾

New in the UK but I don’t seem to have any problems with them
customer services being absolutely wonderful. In fact I’ve been a little bit ratty due to the UK heatwave and can’t be bothered to do half of the stuff they’ve asked me to do, but they’ve been absolutely wonderful. They keep checking in to see if everything‘s okay and they’ve helped me so I don’t understand what all the negative reviews are about and I’ve had them for two months the collers
on both of my dogs okay it does glitch every now and again but that’s what you get with most cellular things and if you attach it to your phone there should be no issue when you’re going out for a walk that’s what Wi-Fi on your phones for.

Very disappointed in Fi

Very disappointed in Fi. In the woods looking for my lost dog, so I try to open the APP only to find that I first have to agree to new terms and conditions and log in. I don't have my password and the APP is worthless. Terms and Conditions should have been sent in an email and not block my access to my APP which I've paid for for years. When you really need it, FI sucks.

Might not work in a pinch and don't scratch your tracker or else!

The collars work okay as long as your in a strong cellular area. But if you go rural and need regular/frequent updates, you might not get them as quick as you'd like. Also, be aware that if you have scratches on the tracker they are very likely not to replace the tracker if it goes bad. Not sure what kind of condition they expect you to keep your tracker in on an active outside dog, but don't scratch it!

Collar keeps going offline

Collar keeps going offline. Two times in two days, right after I spoke to a representative with my displeasure about their collar. I've had it for a year, and it actually sucks beyond belief!!!! Don't buy this collar! But it's never gone offline before. What a coincidence that after I expressed my issues with their shotty lost dog mode, and how inaccurate they were when I try to find my dog.... now it seems like they're kicking my collar offline. Seems like retaliation to me. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT FOR THE MONEY, OR THE HEADACHES. Bad company in my opinion.

UNRELIABLE FOR THE PRICE

It has only managed to connect in lost mode twice, otherwise it just spins and does nothing even if I’m connected to my home WiFi. It also regularly goes offline though in surrounded by miles of homes on all sides. If it gets lost you’ll never find it using the supposed tools since the tracking is terrible and then it will lose connection. There’s no sound and no light. My cat got it off within a week and I had to wait until I stumbled upon it to find it.
I use it with an AirTag because as long as there’s someone with an Apple device hopefully I can find it that way, and the AirTag can actually help you find it by making sounds and the tracker that tells you which way to go. The fi mini is a huge disappointment but I’m stuck with it since it’s small and I have a cat that got lost once so I’ll try anything. Having to pay a subscription for it to not work half the time just makes it that much worse. Don’t recommend at all so if you can get something else, do. If it’s your only option like me, then just hope you don’t actually need it to find your animal someday. I’ve had it for almost a year.

Absolutely sucks to set up

Absolutely sucks to set up. If you have issues expect to deal with a BOT that just circles you back to standard screens. Instructions are missing details to actually follow along. I just spent SEVEN HOURS between calls, emails, dead end instructions. I will try it for the six months. I have the Mini for a small rescue dog. If it’s as impossible in operation as it was to setup…it will go in the TRASH. So far I hate it!

Fi failed during the exact emergency I bought it for

I bought and paid for Fi collars/memberships for both of my dogs because the product is marketed around GPS tracking, escape alerts, and peace of mind. On May 28, 2026, one of my dogs escaped, and the Fi collar/app did not alert me until far too late. She ended up near a busy road and was almost hit. That is the exact situation these safety features are supposed to help with.

After that, I immediately canceled both active Fi memberships: one Series 3+ membership and one Fi Mini membership. I also requested a full refund because, in my experience, the paid safety service did not work as represented during a real emergency. Fi's phone support looped through an automated menu without getting me to a person, and the online chat only routed me toward an email follow-up instead of resolving the refund immediately.

I would not recommend relying on Fi as a primary safety tool for an escape-prone dog. If the alert comes too late during the actual emergency, the rest of the feature list does not matter.

Horrible customer support when there is an issue

I was happy with the performance of the collar for about a year then started having issues. Reached out to customer service several times over a period of months regarding inaccurate alert. Each person I spoke with started from scratch without seeing previous calls, and ended with no results. They made me jump through hoops, answer the same questions over and over, then said things were working fine from on their end. On my end, my dog was 1/2 mile away and no alert. Could have ended horribly if we weren't paying attention and noticed ourselves that he was missing. Still have no remedy to the situation and no one seems to care or want to help. They will not refund for the months I paid in advance so i am stuck paying for a system that I don't trust.

Horrendous website. Good luck trying to cancel :/

The collar seems to work in most areas, although if you don't have great cell service it won't work (and unfortunately I hike in more remote areas so for me it's useless). The WORST part of the Fi experience is trying to cancel membership. Their website is HORRENDOUS and it's impossible to get results from their online chat. I was charged a renewal even though I had requested multiple times that it not renew. Now I'm trying to get a refund and I just don't want to waste my life dealing with a terrible web platform and less-than-satisfactory customer service.

Title
Fi Collar Failed Me When My Dog Was Actually Lost – App & Support Are Deeply Flawed I’ve been a Fi collar subscriber for years and have generally appreciated the daily peace of mind it provides. The app reliably notifies me every single time my dog leaves his “safe zone” and again when he returns. The tracking works well enough for routine monitoring. Unfortunately, when it mattered most — when my dog actually got lost — the entire system failed me completely, revealing serious design and support shortcomings. My dog escaped one afternoon. Naturally, I opened the Fi app on my phone (the same device and account I’ve used without issue for years) expecting quick access to his location. Instead, the app forced me into what felt like a completely new setup process. It prompted me to go through the entire onboarding flow again, including re-uploading a picture of my dog and re-entering profile details. At the exact moment I needed immediate access to live tracking or Lost Mode, I was locked out and wasting precious minutes reconfiguring an account that already existed. This is especially frustrating because the collar itself continued to function in the background — sending me the usual “out of safe zone” and “returned” notifications throughout the ordeal. The hardware was technically tracking him, yet the app’s login barrier made the system useless precisely when every second counted. Desperate for help, I contacted Fi support. What I encountered was essentially an AI chatbot that provided no meaningful assistance. It took significant effort and persistence just to convince the bot to escalate my request to a human. Once it finally did, the system simply forwarded my ticket without resolution. Two days later, I received an email response. Rather than addressing any of the specific issues I had clearly described — the forced full setup, the login barrier during an emergency, or the uselessness of the app at a critical time — the email simply asked about the condition of my dog. It felt like a generic, scripted reply that completely ignored everything I had already explained. This experience has badly damaged my trust in Fi. The collar excels at routine safe-zone alerts, but in a genuine lost-dog emergency, the app’s insistence on re-setup created an unnecessary and potentially dangerous obstacle. Meanwhile, customer support appears to be heavily automated and ineffective, with human escalation that delivers little more than polite deflection. I rely on this product for my dog’s safety, and it let me down when it mattered most. For a GPS tracking collar marketed as a reliable lifeline, the combination of a clunky app experience and unresponsive support is unacceptable. I hope Fi invests seriously in fixing the login flow for existing users and improves their support system so that real emergencies are handled with the urgency and competence they deserve. If you’re considering a Fi collar, be aware that while the daily tracking is convenient, its performance under actual stress may not match the marketing.

Bad product, bad customer service

I purchased the Fi Mini for my dog. The attachment is incredibly flimsy (rubber) and did not stand up to normal dog activities. It broke and the Fi fell out when my dog was playing in the yard. She chewed it up and thank goodness didn’t swallow it or parts of it. Fi was condescending and difficult to communicate with. They acted like they were doing me a favor by replacing it - one year warranty. Saying they do not typically cover replacement when a dog chews it up. I’m sorry, my dog wouldn’t have had access to it if the rubber attachment wasn’t such a piece of junk. Also, as far as the tracking goes it is less than stellar. When I take my dog on a walk, the app doesn’t alert me that we have left our designated area until we are over a block away from home. What good is that? Bad product, bad customer service.
