Don't trust the service department at TCC Clear Lake
Be ready to take your truck or RV back to them so they can try and get their work right the 2nd time - and don't expect them to honor any warranty if you have anyone else fix their shoddy work!
I have been taking my RV to TCC of Clear lake for almost 5 years. Why do I keep going back? I live in rural Iowa, and can't find anyone else who has a shop big enough who will take in my coach that is reasonably close. so that being said; I have literally had to bring my RV back to them EVERY TIME I've had them do maintenance or repairs so that they could fix their own work. In their defense, they always have fixed their shoddy work every time, until this last week. I paid them over $11,000 to replace a power steering fluid pump and the turbo on my engine. Within 240 miles the hose going to the power steering pump came loose and started pouring ATF fluid all over my exhaust and smoking all over the highway. They told me I had a one-year warranty on the work and that I should go to "Any freightliner dealer and I'd be taken care of" if I was away from their shops. Truck Country of Cedar Rapids was the closest Freightliner dealer near my breakdown, so I was toed there. Truck Country found "Debris on the matting surface of flange on hose" they removed and cleaned the debris and reattached and there was no leak present.
See, it's not that they can't do their work properly at Truck Center Companies, it's that they work too fast (yet somehow very slowly), they aren't careful or clean and they leave you stranded on the highway.
Now they won't help me out with the tow bill and they are offering a $350 credit to my account, even though the repair of their repair cost me $985 and the tow cost me $1,108.
Take your truck or RV to Truck Center Companies at your own risk - the fresh-out-of-trade-school children in the shop aren't experienced, and they do shoddy work and Arlon, the Service Manager isn't a very good teacher.
