An honest review based on my experiences doing other guided trips over the last 20 years. While the company was great to deal with, the guiding staff were lacking in experience.

- porters were engaging and friendly. Always there to cheer us on. Unfortunately, there was a language barrier so very little interaction

- head porter was friendly and was quick when setting up the campsite. Always had a smile and friendly greeting for us.

- assistant cooks treated us very well and were very courteous. We enjoyed their company.

- cook never left us wanting more food as it was plentiful but the meals were very repetitive - lots of rice, fried eggs and chicken almost every day on the trail with the odd change here and there. We became tired of the selection after the first few days.

- now unfortunately, we had issues with the guides. Head guide was much too young for us older age group (average age of 68) and most of us would have preferred someone older and more understanding. We had to promote one person to assistant guide from photographer as head guide never showed up on the first 2 days and when he did, he was way in front so at times, we could not see him. The last few days, he marched in front of us with the two other assistant guides and never had anyone behind us. He was not proactive in showing and/or pointing out the mountains and history. Communication skills were lacking and he never checked on our well being nor was he friendly in the mornings (he liked to sleep in). We had to demand a hand washing station that we could use before eating, we had to ask where water sources were along the day's hike, he never 'paced' us properly when gaining elevation - he just took off in front of us. And most of us felt the guide/assistant guide didn't like guiding us older and slower people.

I would rate this crew as 3 of out 5 stars as the guides are the most important component of the crew.

As a group leader li personally thank The whole team because the support of Trango adventure team made it possible us to reach K2 base camp. Trango Adventures was recommended by a friend for our trekking holiday in Pakistan. We also did a quick research before contacting them and they seems to be a popular adventure tour operator based in Pakistan. We always travel with a local tour operator to promote sustainable tourism in the area so we chose to travel with Trango Adventure.
They were very helpful and answered all our questions we had pre booking the trip. Shahid help us with booking process and applying for the visa. Abbas was waiting for us at Islamabad airport when we arrived. We stayed in a nice a clean hotel in Islamabad before travelling to Skardu. In Skardu we also met the owners, Mehboob and Shabbir. Great guys with lots of experience and stories about the tourism industry in Pakistan.

We had a good Stay in Skardu then left for K2 base camp with our Lovely Guide, Sakhawat. He was an experienced guide and had knowledge about the area and familiar with the local culture and terrain. The entire trekking crew were committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for us. Our chef Kosar boiled water for us to fill up our water bottles every morning and made delicious food throughout the trip, enjoyed every minute in the Karakoram mountains.
We recommend this company for its professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent customer service.

I travel with Trango Adventure for my trekking holiday to K2 Base Camp last summer. Started the booking process with an email inquiry. They answered all my questions promptly and provided all the information I needed before paying the deposit. After paying the deposit they send me All the required documents to apply for the trekking visa. I got the visa visa without any trouble and made to Islamabad. They picked me up at Islamabad airport and transfer to my hotel and next day we went to Skardu next day.
All the logistic were ready in Skardu and we left for Johla Camp next day. During the trek our guide Was very help and well organised the daily activities. Our Cook Ali feed us fantastic food through out the trek. Their entire team in the field was very friendly, helpful and cooperative.

I recommended Trango Adventure for their well-organised and professional approach to planning and executing trips, experienced guides, and commitment to safety.

Overall, Trango Adventure was a reliable and reputable company that mad our k2 base camp trek an unforgettable adventure travel experiences in Pakistan.
