A fantastic event with great staff, crew and volunteers. One of best mud runs out there, such a great community, if your thinking of entering do it!

Same issue as the rest on here, booked Tough Mudder for June 2020 and due to Covid 19 been cancelled, I have no issues with this at all, they are not able to confirm any new dates or venues so we asked for a refund, after a lot of emails it was agreed that a refund would be processed and it would take 4\6 weeks, waited and no refund, after chasing this was told that no refund would be paid as our money had been paid to tough mudder and not them so we could have a voucher for another event or donate our fee to charity!
Would love to do tough mudder but would not book anything else through this company.

Good business gone bad, having started with TM in 2013 and done several events with costs into the hundreds I was already set for my next mud run in 2020. Yes the company has no control over the events of 2020 and the global pandemic but it does have control over its values and customer loyalties. Once again profits over people and this is now reflected in their trust pilot reviews.
TM was taken over in January by Spartan and although they were more than happy to take customers money in ticket sales they seem to have found a legal loop hole to not assume responsibility for the terms and conditions that these tickets were purchased under.
What makes this all the worse is the fact that the company actually confirmed they would refund the ticket and this would be in my bank account in 4/6 weeks only to be informed 4 weeks later that this was a lie and they are refusing a refund, but I could always donate it to an undisclosed charity (scam and such poor relations now that I wouldn't even trust them to give the donation to charity). Avoid!!!!

UPDATE Please note that I have now received a full refund from tough mudder.

I have done the East Midlands Tough Mudder for the past 3 years and had booked to do the 2020 event too. Unfortunately, due to the current Covid 19 issue the event was understandably cancelled and rescheduled for another date. However, I'm not able to do make the event and again due to my circumstances around the Coronavirus I could do with the money back. After jumping through hoops I eventually got an email confirming that I would receive my refund in 5-6 weeks, not ideal but ok. Then a few weeks later I received another email saying they would not pay out on the refund as the money was paid to the company that they had bought out! Surely they took over the liabilities as well as the name and logo etc. After continuing to pursue this they are now no longer responding to my emails.
Tough Mudder was meant to have community values "This is not a race, it's a team event! help your fellow mudders out". Obviously this doesn't count when it comes to the money.
I feel that I have basically been robbed by tough mudder and the customer service has been appalling. I will not be letting this go and will continue to pursue my complaint.
Please, please don't give these crooks your hard earned money.

Con con con, promised refunds not sent! They now no longer return emails and of course there’s no phone number, I can’t write anymore then what’s been listed in all of the other complaints!

This year would have been my 4th mudder but due to Covid TM chose to change my dates. None of my team of 6 could make the event therefore we asked for a refund which was specifically set out in the terms laid out by TM. We were then promised a refund to be paid out within 4 to 6 weeks. Suddenly TM being controlled by a company called OCR Holdings reneged on the promised refund. Despite numerous screenshots showing emails to my team promising a refund they have gone completely off the radar and refuse to respond to emails. OCR HOLDINGS IF YOU ARE READING THIS....THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING!

This was a decent firm before the takeover in January. They are now a bunch of liars and cheats with no morals.
Understandably they’ve delayed the event this year due to Covid, but our entire team couldn’t make the re-scheduled date and getting us all to another event will be costly and likely impossible logistically. They agreed to a refund to every single one of us, by email. However.... they then reneged on their promise to refund claiming their original email agreeing was in “good faith” and because they bought the company assets in January, and we bought tickets last year, they won’t be refunding us. This standard email has been sent out to hundreds (if not thousands) of customers.
So they’ve taken on liability, are allowing bought tickets to be used for events BUT decided not to honour their CURRENT AND PREVIOUS T’s & C’s for a refund.
This is a legal loophole and it seems they are entitled to do this, however, I’ve been advised they should have sent out notification of change of T’s & C’s upon purchase of assets and trading name to existing clients in order to make it legal in the UK, so I think they are on dodgy ground at the very least.
Irrespective, their actions are immoral, disrespectful, dishonourable and dishonest.
I will not be attending any event and I’m going to do my utmost (as it seems hundreds of people are also now doing) to ensure everyone knows what this lot are about, and how they treat their clients.
If this is legally allowable, there’s nothing to stop them transferring assets every 12 months (or less) and dodging all responsibility entirely.
They are nothing short of a bunch of liars and cheats.

This event has become part of my life, great times with great people, you'll love every minute and make new friends, team work is the name of the game, even if you go as a solo participant you're never alone on a Tough Mudder

I have never experienced such horrible customer service in my life. I booked an event for July 2020 which got cancelled due to Covid-19, and I fully understand and respect this cancellation. HOWEVER, I sent an email then asking for my money back due to the event being cancelled. Tough Mudder stated that they are not providing refunds and instead transferring me to an event in 2021! I explained to them that I understand there are no refunds if I cancel, but TOUGH MUDDER cancelled the event and since they cancelled it, I should be given an option for a refund. I signed up for a 2020 event and paid for plane tickets that I now cannot cancel and now have to buy plane tickets for 2021 as well. The representative EMAILING me (no phone contact) stated that the funds they receive go directly into the course, but since there won’t be a course this year, that revenue shouldn’t have been used! I will never spend a single penny with Tough Mudder again! I never got my refund and will now be racing in 2021, solely so that my tickets don’t go to waste. Incredible inflexibility and lack of professionalism on their part. DO NOT BOOK AN EVENT WITH TOUGH MUDDER, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!

I have to add to Tough Mudder's woes. As mentioned in previous reviews I was confirmed a refund in 4-6 weeks from my initial request. No refund appeared so I chased them up over email. I've still had no response and I can't find a phone number anywhere.
It is a shame as we were going to do this once or twice year but I won't be using Tough Mudder going forward.
The website mpora (/fitness/10-hardcore-alternatives-to-tough-mudder/) seems to have some good alternatives to Tough Mudder I might try.

Scammers - avoid avoid avoid!

Since Tough Mudder went into administration (which they never told their customers about) and being taken over by Spartan, their organisation and customer service has been awful. They refuse to pay refunds despite what their website says, what their own emails say and what they say their administration agreement says. So sad - I used to enjoy Tough Mudder but it's all changed. Like everyone says - avoid!

Atrocious company now hiding behind US legals advice since take over by Spartan - bought two entries for myself and wife - they couldn't hold the vent...new event dates dont work for us, was originally told I would get a refund, then was contacted again 4 weeks later to say because I had given them my money early, I couldn't be refunded !....will be the last TM or Spartan I do and will be letting plenty of people to do the same - avoid

Tough mudder are refusing to refund during covid19. Disgusting company.

Disgrace of a company - move venue & date of original race. Then move again (with no option of course because of covid-19) but do not offer any chance of refund, there's simply NO situation this company ever would consider refunding people's money.... Curses!!

This is a terrible company. My wife and I signed up for a Tough Mudder 30 minutes from our home for our anniversary... Spartan proceeded to buy Tough Mudder, cancel our event, and let us know that we will NOT receive a refund. Instead we got a coupon code for another Tough Mudder (there are none near us) and a Spartan Race (something we aren't interested in and also isn't near us). This company STOLE $250 from us. They are a bunch of criminals! Don't give them your money!

I honestly loved Tough Mudder, it was always a great challenge and good way to measure yourself and fitness. Ihad done this run 8 times and had enjoyed it.
But the past 3 years it has become, just a money making machine. When I started it was £70 and £85 last minute now it is over £100 as early bird. It is no longer worth the money. You can do other runs, same challenge level for MUCH cheaper, it's now become a joke of a course just to rob you of your money, and they are no longer as creative as they once were.

Very disappointed in the email service. They over charged me and i cannot get a reply from anyone, eve the tickets are on n the wrong name.

Joke tough mudder sort your act out !!!!!

I have purchased two tickets through ( Have confirmation emails) - TM.com . However the website doesn't even recognise my email account which I used to purchase two tickets for next year!

I also went on ACTVE.CM - the website didn't even recognise the event as if it isn't even happening.Where as other TM events seem to be on there!

I have emailed these guys through both Active + TM's support. I have read over the reviews of people reaching out to the support teams and not hearing anything. Suffice to say I should hope to hear something before. Should I not I will be attending the event that day ready to run and go!!

What is going on! - How a company who are so well known can have such a shambolic system is beyond me! I will expect a speedy response and should I not receive one I will be making others aware of the pitfulls of using Tough Mudder for any events of this kind moving forward.

I won't ever register for an event or recommend! I purchased my tickets almost a yr in advance. I tore my meniscus and had to undergo surgery within 4mos of my event date. I contacted customer service to see if I could cancel less any registration fee, but they would not accept. My only option was to transfer my tickets. I luckily found some people wanting to take my spots so I emailed the transfer. A couple days later my friend contacted me and told me she was unable to go because even Tough Mudder was going to charge them each $75 to attend the event. I had paid in full for my tickets. The email to her from Tough Mudder stated that me transferring her my paid tickets was only to hold their spot and that they would still have to pay for tickets. Such a SCAM!
