Trying to receive a transfer PIN so…

Trying to receive a transfer PIN so that I can change cell providers. Countless calls have resulted in noo action on TotalVerizon's part. They offer a help text call at 611611 which does not work. Today I was told that I will receive an email with the transfer PIN...never arrived. Then told that the 611611 is not working.
Absolutely terrible customer service.

Don't go anywhere near Total by…

Don't go anywhere near Total by Verzion, formerly Total Wireless. For a while this service worked, later the tethering quit working (Google it, many people have the issue) and Total was useless at helping resolve the problem. Later, in trying to add new phones, Total took us on a joyride of days of "we'll call you back in 30 minutes" experiences, only to have each call back start again on the same merry-go-round. Then when we'd had enough, we found their website didn't work correctly to port the numbers out, and they refused to be of any help, taking us on the same merry-go-round from hell. Don't even consider this inept company or you'll lose days of your life, and possibly access to important things due to so many services depending on SMS for multi-factor authentication these days. At this point though, abandoning ship and getting a new number may be the cleanest way out. If they hadn't already sucked our lifeforce down to 0%, I'd probably hire an attorney and find a way to punish them for holding our numbers hostage agaist FCC regulations.

When it was Total Wireless

When it was Total Wireless, I would give it 4 stars. Not awesome, but good enough and for a good price. Ever since Verizon bought them out, now I get dropped calls several times a day. Lost contact during some important calls, so I am forced to go to another carrier. Guess what, it won't be Verizon. Hopefully others will follow suit, and their war of attrition against prepaid customers will back fire on them.

Total Scam by Verizon

I was a Total Wireless customer before they were taken over by Verizon. Total Wireless was a low cost alternative to the major carriers. The service wasn't perfect, but I was happy with the value for the cost.

That all changed within a month or so of the buy out by Verizon. They immediately started making changes to my plan which were promoted as "upgrades," but were in fact reductions in service, as noted by tiny asterisks and fine print.

When I called customer service to complain, I was told that my plan "had always been that way." It was like some weird scifi world where they were telling me that things I had done and experienced for the past few years weren't real.

Honestly, it seems like Verizon's agenda was to get me to upgrade my plan, which, ironically, I would have done happily had Verizon been honest and said they were making some changes, and these were the new terms and plans. I decided, though, not to upgrade only because I didn't want to reward Verizon's dishonesty.

More recently, the quality of their service has gotten horrible. Dozens of dropped calls every single day, and completely unreliable internet. My problem is I live in a rural area, and there aren't many options for me, so I have been making the best of the sorry Verizon service.

However, the very latest scam Verizon is using is to cheat their customers out of data. I know this is happening because for two months now I have checked my data when it renews, and Verizon has subtracted up to almost 4 gigabytes almost immediately. When I check my phone it has logged maybe 300 Megabytes of use, which seems about right based on my past experiences. I know that the cell phone companies say there may be some descrepencies between how your device accounts for data, and how they do it. But over 10 times more!?! Come on, this is out and out FRAUD.

And yes, I have contacted Customer Service. Twice, in fact. Some very nice sounding young people with foreign accents have tried to help me "fix" my phone, but in the end there is really nothing they can do. They are, unfortunately, working for an incredibly dishonest corporation.

Poor order fulfillment.

Long time totalwireless/now total by verizon customer. Ordered a new phone to upgrade my wife's phone. Ordered on 11/1. It is now 11/6 and they have still not shipped. Told it MAY ship in 72 hours. They should advise when ordering that they are taking over a week to ship items. Trying to contact somebody is next to impossible. My credit card had hold as of 11/1, date of order.
