Experience with TotalBed

Staff is quite friendly and supportive to bring me all the reasonable options which fit to my preference. It helped me to come to decision making easily. Delivery is also on time and smoothly handled.

Scammer Alert! Request to pay 150 Euro for cancelation after 1 hour and stating 90 days cancelation policy!!!

Scammer Alert!! I left TotaalBed feeling genuinely upset and disappointed. I walked in unsure about what I needed, I felt pushed into signing something I wasn’t ready for. I was even told I had 90 days to decide, so I trusted that I had space to think.

Only an hour later, when I realised I still wasn’t comfortable, I tried to cancel. That’s when they suddenly told me I had to pay €150. No one mentioned this during the sale. The fee was hidden in tiny print, and the whole situation made me feel misled / scammed.

There was no real advice given, just sales pressure. I felt rushed and not respected as a customer.

Buying a bed should feel comfortable and honest. Sadly, my experience with TotaalBed was the opposite, and it left a very bad impression. I truly hope no one else has to go through this.

They even do not this the customer right is to know the policy and do not agree the consumer right. I will follow this with my legal adviser, but be careful before sign anything in this store and make sure they tell you the truth!!

I do not recommend at all!!!!!!

Hartelijk dank voor jouw review, wat jammer te lezen dat je dit zo ervaren hebt. Dat is zeker nooit onze intentie. Bij aankoop in een fysieke winkel praten we over een bindende aankoop. Het betreffende filiaal is jou meerdere malen van dienst geweest met het geven van informatie en advies alvorens jij bent overgegaan tot het tekenen van de aankoopovereenkomst. Natuurlijk kan het gebeuren dat je als klant toch gaat twijfelen over zaken die tijdens de aankoop uitvoerig besproken zijn. Een annulering van de order is dan zeker mogelijk. De advies- en administratiekosten zullen wij in dat geval redelijkerwijs wel in rekening brengen. Wij betreuren het dat jouw verwachting hierin anders was.

Complain want to file a complaint with…

I want to file a complaint with TotaalBed Amsterdam Arena Boulevard.
I have an Alexia duvet (200x220).
I've had it for four years, and the filling is on the sides, and the middle is flat. TotaalBed says they'll just refill the duvet for a fee, which I find poor service considering it's not that old.
I would say be careful what you buy; the staff is friendly, but the service is poor, so I won't buy anything from TotaalBed again.

Extremely Disappointed with Totaalbed

We ordered a complete bed with two mattresses plus two additional mattresses in the shop. The saleswoman assured us that we would have a 14-day return period and a 90-day exchange period. On the basis of that promise, we went ahead with the full purchase, spending almost €5,000 in total.

After delivery, we quickly realized that two of the mattresses (worth €1,200) didn’t fit our new home and were not comfortable. These mattresses were completely unused, and we immediately requested to return them within the 14-day window.

What followed was a month-long nightmare:

Customer service was unresponsive and kept telling us “someone will call back,” but nobody did.

The 14-day return period turned out to be a lie — they told us it only applies to online purchases, not in-store, despite the saleswoman explicitly promising otherwise.

Attempts to exchange the mattresses under the 90-day program were ignored.

In the end, I was left with €1,200 wasted, endless phone calls, broken promises, and zero support from Totaalbed.

This was not just disappointing — it felt deliberately misleading. For a premium purchase of nearly €5,000, I expected honesty and proper service. Instead, I got frustration, wasted time, and a company hiding behind policy fine print instead of standing by what their own staff promised in-store.

I cannot recommend Totaalbed. Be very careful - what they tell you in the shop may not match the reality.

Thank you very much for this review. We delivered your order on July 23rd. On August 7th, you requested a return of your mattresses. When you make a purchase in a physical store, you make a binding purchase. You also signed the associated terms and conditions. Returning the mattresses is not possible in that case, as our stores are aware. It is possible to make use of the 90-day exchange guarantee, but you indicated that you hadn't used the mattresses at all and wanted to return them. Unfortunately, that's not an option. We understand from our Amsterdam store that you will be making use of the exchange guarantee after all. We do sincerely apologize for not contacting you about this quickly enough.

Great customer service and such a comfortable bed!

I actually came to Leiderdrop area to buy furniture and bed by another brand. I just happened to pass by Totaalbed to compare, but the service and care of the younger staff at Leiderdrop store was so good that I ended up buying Totaalbed instead of the other brand I originally planned to buy. They are also very accommodating with my late delivery date and the delivery men were efficient and courteous. I slept for full 9 hours during my first night sleeping on the bed! Keep up the good work, Totaalbed.

Mattress issue

I bought a mattress that arrived defective, and after a month I still don’t have a solution and I'm still stuck with the defective mattress.I have sent photos proving that it’s a manufacturing defect and that it will never regain its shape because it’s defective, yet they don’t want to offer a solution to the problem. When you buy a new mattress, do you really expect to wait a month for it to regain its shape? Or just 24 to 48 hours? And no, there’s no fitted sheet on it. Please review the three emails I’ve sent instead of replying to this review.

What can also help is to loosen the fitted sheet at the corners during the day so that the mattress can lie out properly.
