Hi Mark, I have just checked and you ordered a bulk bag of our TURFING rootzone 70/30 mix so I am not sure why your gardener has put turfing soil on your lawn? The description of the turfing soil clearly states it is a 20mm screened product with natural 20mm aggregate/stones in it to allow good drainage UNDER TURF. The description of the turfing soil also states 'Please note, this product is not suitable as a top dressing; it is for use at root level only to produce a perfect turf bed for you to lay your new turf on.'
It sounds like you have ordered the wrong product for your job and you should have ordered our grass seeding rootzone 70/30 mix (which is a smaller 10mm screened product) or a top dressing product, if you planned to spread the soil on top of your existing lawn. I feel the 1 star review is very harsh given you have clearly ordered the wrong product for your intended job and if you had asked beforehand which product we recommend for grass seeding or top dressing a lawn it would not have been the 20mm screened turfing soil you have purchased. Our soil is a 10mm screened product and the product you ordered was a 50/50 seeding mix so it has a higher sand content to allow drainage in wetter areas which may make it seem more stony. Without any aggregate/stones in the product it won't allow for good drainage in wetter areas. Thanks, Sarah, Topsoil & More

Beds & border compost
The compost is good quality for beds and borders. Excellent communication with Sarah who organised for the bulk bag to be delivered in a certain area. Thanks to the driver who carried out the delivery perfectly. I highly recommend this company and I will be using them again.

Consistent high quality; great customer service
As a professional gardener, finding consistent peat-free compost is a big challenge but Topsoil have managed to achieve this. I’ve been recommending this company to clients over the past year and the quality has always been great. Recently I had to place two complicated orders for clients and Sarah was fantastic at managing the deliveries around planting schedules. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review Nicky but we are disappointed you felt the need to leave a one star review after the delivery company and myself called you repeatedly on the day of delivery so you could meet the driver to tell him where you'd ideally like the pallet to be left. Our deliveries are usually kerbside/on a driveway but your delivery location was a communal gardens quite a way off the kerbside. When the pallet was left where you did not want it, because you unfortunately did not get to him at the delivery location before he had to move on, I arranged for the delivery company to return the next day to move the pallet for you. I texted to ask you if they had been back to move the pallet as requested and I received no reply from you so I am disappointed to see this review given the lengths we went to help you. Customers receive a 2 hour ETA of their delivery by email on the day of delivery so they can be on hand to show the driver where to leave the pallet and it's out of our hands if customers are not available and do not answer the phone when called. Good quality topsoil
Had an appointment when delivery took place but l was phoned up to confirm where the delivery was to be placed, which was helpful. The quality of the topsoil seemed much better than a similar delivery l had from elsewhere as it had no unwanted inclusions.

Solid, compacted, little soil or loam
Seller has been in touch and it looks like there was a one-off issue with our order. I can see the other reviews are excellent so I agree it must have been a one-off problem. Important thing is they have offered several options to make this right for us which is important in business. I really appreciate their follow up and I'll be buying from them again.
Veggie bed topsoil bulk bag not fit for purpose. It was solid, compacted and had to be forked out. Masses of long sticks which had to be removed. Composition was mostly soil conditioner with lumps of subsoil. You wouldn't even use this as a soil conditioner or mulch as so compacted and dense. Had to be broken down and sieved. This is the 3rd company I've used and this product was by far the worst quality. It was despatched a week later than the order confirmation indicated and only received updates when i chased it a few times. No one answered the phone during working hours. Not a professional experience. The haulier was very good which was the only good point.
