Tomtie is a UK-based tuition company providing one-to-one technology support for people, particularly older adults, who feel overwhelmed by their computer, phone, or tablet. Our core offering is ComputerDriving® lessons: in-home sessions where a trained instructor talks the student through tasks on their own device, rather than taking over the keyboard or mouse. With Tomtie, the student is always in the driver's seat, learning at their own pace with an expert by their side. Each lesson runs 50 minutes within the hour, allowing time to settle in, a short break to aid concentration, and a recap at the end, with most sessions lasting two hours. Every lesson begins with the instructor listening to what the student wants to achieve, and ends with a clear summary of what was covered. Membership includes a patient, qualified instructor who comes to the student's home, a written lesson log emailed after every session, a printed summary for the next lesson to reinforce learning, and Personal Action Plans for complex tasks. Members also receive an annual Tomtie Tech Check, Norton360 security software installation, and ongoing email support between lessons.
