We came to Tom seeking a tutor for our daughter to help build her confidence with her Maths after she found her first year at senior school challenging. Our daughter has always had a reasonable level of ability in Maths but had not been able to build on that due to a combination of missing some fundamentals in some areas from primary school (possibly due to COVID) and lack of faith in her own abilities and decision making around approaching problems. Our daughter is also a naturally very shy person who finds talking to unfamiliar people or in unfamiliar environments very difficult.

Tom very quickly identified what areas of weakness needed addressing initially for our daughter to help her progress, but possibly more importantly than this his naturally friendly and enthusiastic style allowed her to come out of her shell and build confidence in her own abilities, making her more willing to show what she could do. This has been brilliant for her when she has taken this forward to school leading to her moving from struggling in class to the teachers reporting at the last parents evening of the year that she is now one of the strongest pupils in class.

Once she had made this improvement Tom has always looked to push her forward and keeping her challenged even having her work in classes with GCSE pupils even though she was only in Year 8. All the while Tom has made sure she was comfortable and happy and his infectious positivity, which is what we all love most about Tom, has allowed her to approach this increasing challenge with confidence.

All in all we would definitely recommend Tom and a tutor and have no doubt that he will play a big part in our daughter reaching her true potential when it comes to her GCSEs.

Tom helped my daughter for her maths GCSE’s after she was struggling, I would definitely recommend without a doubt, he was very professional, patient, his explanations was very detailed and simplified especially to someone that’s always struggled with maths and my daughter managed to pass her GCSE’s in a space of 4months or so as I signed up to Tom last minute, if you are looking for a maths tutorial that comes with a pass guarantee at the end I would definitely highly recommend Tom, thank you so much Tom once again, I can not thank you enough

We've been fortunate to have such an excellent tutor for both of our children. Tom has been teaching my daughter A-Level Maths and my son GCSE Maths, and the progress has been remarkable. My son’s improvement is particularly outstanding—he went from a grade 4 to a grade 8 in just one year! The tutor is always in a fantastic mood, bringing energy and enthusiasm to every lesson, which really helps keep the kids engaged. He has a wonderful way of boosting their confidence and explaining difficult concepts in a way that makes them easy to understand. Additionally, he’s incredibly accommodating, always willing to adjust lesson times when needed without any hassle. Overall, he is a fantastic teacher, and I couldn’t recommend him more highly.

Tom has been a supportive and engaging maths tutor for our son through year 9 and now in preparation for his GCSE maths. Tom has helped our son to become more confident in his maths ability by teaching in a straightforward and friendly manner and by tailoring the lesson to his specific needs. I would not hesitate in recommending Tom to anyone wanting support with maths.

Tom is a fantastic tutor. He was always friendly and engaging and our lessons were well planned and thought through. We’d cover a considerable amount of material but it never felt too heavy, with everything being well explained. He made Maths A level so much more manageable and I was delighted to get an A and a place at my chosen university. I would highly recommend him.

Very friendly guy, helped address many gaps in my knowledge of A-Level Economics.
Concepts were explained clearly and I was given fresh perspectives on topics that I didn’t understand in class. Was also given useful advice that applied outside of lesson that I continue to use to this day.

We are so pleased we found Tom! Joey has several barriers to learning but after our consultation with Tom, he quickly and genuinely bonded with Joey and we knew we had found the right tutor. Over time their relationship has become really special and Joey’s love for learning is better than ever! Tom challenges Joey to be the best he can be and supports him emotionally through the ups and downs of his life in general; acting as a friend as well as a tutor. Tom has our full support as Joey’s tutor and we meet every so often online to discuss Joeys progress. Joey is age 12 (just!) and after doing a test paper with Tom for his Maths GCSE, we are considering Joey doing the official exam in the New Year! Tom has encouraged Joey to fulfil his potential helping remove his barriers to learning and continues to help him reach for more. Cannot recommend enough!
