If I could leave ZERO stars I would. I ported my son’s phone number from Ting Mobile to Mint Mobile in July 2024. This should have automatically terminated service with Ting Mobile. Des... See more

My Experiences with Ting
Ting's customer service, tech support, phone options for sale & pricing couldn't be better! Two phones and nearly 10 years later, I'm a satisfied customer and couldn't be happier! Thank you Ting!

Get What You Pay For
They used to be a great POST-PAID affordable phone service, making them much more convenient than pre-pay. No longer. Post-2020 they're much more expensive and pushier, and they will throttle your connections to 0.1 mbps with zero alerts or warnings whatsoever to force you to PRE-PAY for data 1 GB at a time.
Yes, during an extremely busy and stressful time when someone is on the road a lot due to essential work, the #1 thing they want is to lose access to streaming music AND all Instant Messaging services (including Discord and Slack) at a random moment with no warning. Awesome, loved that, A+ experience.
Unfortunately, other phone services are substantially more expensive in my area, so I am tolerating the inconvenience for now.

Excellent performance from Ting for over 7 years.
I have been with Ting for seven and a half years. I pay under $17.50 per month for unlimited calling and text and 1 gig of internet service. That is pretty darn good. I have signed up three people. I have not had any troubles with my line. My first cell phone was imported from another company and I bought my second cell phone from an online store and imported that one too. No troubles at all from Ting. I highly recomend Ting.

I’ve been with Ting for almost a decade and I am just delighted with the value I receive.
No nonsense, no monkey business, no surprises, just a solid value.

Ting has been great for years!
Ting has been great for me over the years.
-The service is comparable with other big time carriers, and now that they provide a variety of competatively priced unlimited options, I have very little to complain about.
-Customer service has always been fantastic!
-device prices are competitive, and there are viable options for transferring devices over to Ting.
-It's so easy to work with Ting! From the moment I received my first device through the 5+ years I've been with Ting, I've had nothing but good experiences!
Really, the only downside to having Ting service is roaming charges. with other carriers headed in the direction of eliminating roaming fees, I can't wait until Ting follows suit! So, if you travel abroad, it may be something to consider and research where roaming charges do and don't apply, but otherwise, I would recommend Ting without a second thought!

I love ting but I wish I could buy more…
I love ting but I wish I could buy more data when I go over my allotted amount. One gig for $5 is too much.

Unethical customer service
Their Sim Card never worked right in my daughter's phone despite several attempts to resolve the issue. I canceled the service, and confirmed with them I wouldn't be billed further, but they continued billing me after the service was canceled, and refused to refund the difference.
For the record,it was YOUR customer service that refused to refund me, and it was YOUR customer service that insisted the phone was compatible.

I don’t know why Ting rates so highly…
I don’t know why Ting rates so highly with consumer reports. I find the hold times for customer support to be in excess of half an hour. You also cannot purchase additional data without calling in and experiencing the long hold time and you can only buy one gig at a time. I got suckered in with the unlimited data ploy; the 2G data stream will not even open most websites it times out. I will be leaving thing before the end of my first month

Pretty good experience ...
I've had an amazing experience when it comes to Ting Wireless. They checked my coverage and noticed T-Mobile was not good in my area, so they ordered me a Verizon Sim Card. Ting has been extraordinary. They are very, very easy to work with, excellent customer service, the mobile app is basic, and easy to use. The activation process was difficult and took a couple hours, but Ting Mobile got my phone activated, up and running within a few minutes of me chatting with them. However, I wish the $55 plan would have 50GB of fast data instead of 35GB because 2G is useless. :( That's one thing that absolutely sucks!!!

I'm also surprised at the negative…
I'm also surprised at the negative reviews. I've been with Ting 3 years now and have been very satisfied with the service. I recently needed to activate a new sim card on a GSM home phone device and sent them an email with the phone info etc - it was set up quickly, my phone number was transferred and they changed my plan all in a matter of minutes. And it sure beats what I was paying Frontier for landline service which would go out every time it rained. With what I'm saving I may get a smart phone one of these days and if I do I'll get the service with Ting. Emails I send are answered quickly on the rare occasion I need to ask something.

I am again thinking about switching to…
I am again thinking about switching to Ting permanently, after 26 years on Verizon. I dropped in here just to read some of the most recent reviews, and I don't understand why so many are so bad. Back in the spring/early summer I tried Ting for a few months on one line (a new number) and had absolutely no problems. Service was fine here and out of the area -- Gatlinburg, Charleston, Savannah, and everywhere in between. Their website is as clean and simple as it gets -- practically a "miracle" of simplicity in this day and age (I'm a long-time IT professional and I really appreciate the simplicity). Billing was also clean and simple. The only thing I can say about customer service (I used nothing but the web to activate my trial run) is with their Internet service, which I've had for several months now, and what I have to say about that is "perfection" from coordinating the installation right up to the present. I once unplugged my router just to move it to battery backup, and within a minute my phone rang -- a Ting CS rep was calling to see why my fiber line had dropped off the grid. A couple of months later I called CS again because my router was dead, no lights at all. First thing the CS rep asked was if it had power ... I obligingly checked the plug, seemed solid, so I tried a different outlet. Bingo. The problem was my own power connection. Otherwise I have had 100% uptime on my gigabit Internet. I'm writing this detailed review just to counter so many negatives which, as I said up front, I don't understand at all. I'm 99% sure I'll go ahead and move my two lines from VZW to Ting, because if my previous experiment with Ting Mobile is worth anything at all I'll probably cut my monthly bill in half.

Once great, now garbage.
They used to be great (before they got bought out), but now they're garbage. Rates are high, and their service is poor. They've become just another corporate con job. I'd give them zero stars if I could.

Was easy
Was easy - checked my phone compatibility, received SIM, installed and off I go. No problems. This is the way it should be for sign-up.

cell phone activation nightmare!
cell phone activated; 2 calls made; then no calls could be made even with full signal strength; 5 different customer reps and hang ups (and 2 Clonic seizures later) FINALLY got a supervisor who reset the entire account! Total time taken? 4 1/2 hours!!! And during the whole time I was NEVER able to get anybody on the online chat!
WORST experience I have EVER had with a cell provider and now the sim card won't eject! Have to wait for a replacement while they put a hold on my credit card until they get the old one back!
This is not customer service; it is customer torture, and to cause sufficient stress to an epileptic resulting in 2 Clonic seizures during the entire time is unforgivable!

Great value for 2 mo. stay in the USA
I used Ting while visiting the US for two months. I have an Android dual-sim phone from Europe (Samsung Galaxy S10e) and it was seamless to add the Ting sim card to my second slot and set my preferences to route outgoing calls, sms and data through it. Calls and texts sent to my European number came through fine simultaneously. The sim card arrived promptly, customer support was good when I had difficulty with the initial setup, and closing the account after 2 months when I left the US was no problem. I always got a live, knowledgeable operator with no wait. $15 per month for unlimited calls and messaging and 5 GB data was a great value for me! The only downside for me was that the area I was in has poor coverage by T-mobile and Verizon's networks, but that's not Ting's fault. I will definitely use Ting again next time I travel to the US.

Twice hit with massive bills
Twice hit with massive bills, 1 gig for 2 people, mint, 8 gig for 2 people, and less $. Final insult, to cancel, Ting makes you call them on the phone and have their super human crew drill you for more information amid pleas not to go.
Response to Ting reply. You say "hope you understand" that we like making our customers call us for "feedback." I guess you didn't understand that my complaint IS that I had to call you, according to you website instructions and I don't understand why you force that on your customers, except to try and change their minds. As you also acknowledged, I didn't really have to call anyway because I ported my number, so sprinkle a little deception on you website that says I do to boot, excepting, I guess, those customers who don't port but want to cancel, who presumably have to call you to provide "feedback." Do you want anymore feedback from me?

Did not have any issues with Ting
Did not have any issues with Ting. They have a very clean online dashboard, transparent pricing, I had good coverage through the Verizon network, had no issues with customer support who always resolved any issues that I had somewhat quickly. As they charge by number of minutes/texts/data used, I did once run up a big bill because I did not realize I was on LTE instead of Wifi. They did not have any ability to notify me when going over a data limit, but this seems similar with all the mobile providers. I got an introductory discount with them and not sure how competitive the pricing is after it is over.
Would definitely recommend Ting if they have the network coverage/phones/prices you want.

Ting impressed me
Traveling in the US for an extended trip from Ireland. Excellent customer service via chat answered all my questions. Sim cards were waiting on arrival and easy to set up. They weren't compatible with one of our phones but their compatibility checker tool on the website meant that we weren't taken by surprise and could pack an older phone that was. The only surprise on the bill was that it was less than expected. We were only in Denver and Chicago suburbs but coverage was good there. Canceling was easy on return home. Based on my experience with them, I'd go with Ting in a heartbeat for the next trip.
