Money Grabbing Thieves

In order to change a ticket you have to purchase the new ticket prior to the exchange. In my case I complied and booked same 5hr journey but getting off the train two stops early. The system refused to refund. Once I understood how their online system works, I offered to extend the stops and contacted them immediately (prior to travel) but there is no phone line and no chat support. I was stuck. They have now refused to refund me. This has effectively meant I paid over £100 for a five hour journey! More than double the normal price! If I had bought direct through the train company I would have only forfeited the exchange fee £10. Their attitude goes against the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (lack of accessible customer support), the spirit of the Rail Passengers Rights and just seems unnecessarily harsh and money grabbing. If I had been able to contact a customer service representative prior to travel then I should have been able to change my ticket to adhere to their rules, the lack of support has left me severely out of pocket which seems very unfair. In addition they got the facts of the appeal wrong (wrong ticket, wrong day) and despite me trying to give them the correct information, they have refused to speak to me any more or give me details of where I can appeal. What kind of customer service is that? I would highly recommend that you do not buy from these thieves they are just out to scam you for as much money as they can.

Booked a trip for my parents as a surprise but due to an unforeseen circumstances they were unable to travel. TicketySplit were fantastic and allowed me a refund for the tickets. Would definitely recommend.

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask.

Paid £15.80 for a small journey. Bedford-Northampton.
Used the app but after purchase that the dreaded replacement bus service notice was viewable.
In effect I paid almost £16 for 10 minutes on a train. As my appointment was time sensitive and the train was already 38 minutes delayed. I had to look at alternatives. 1 taxi (£6) 2 bus journeys later (£4). I reached my destination. On time.
When I asked for a refund James part of the alleged "Customer Support Team. Gave me every excuse under the sun as to why they will not be refunding me.
This is a prime example of what is wrong in the UK today. Poor excuses. Poor service. Keep all money at all costs.
Avoid where possible.

Great savings and customer service

Really good savings (like over 50%) compared to buying last minute at the ticket office.
Generally I haven't had to change seats on longer routes but it's no drama.
The website takes a little getting used to but it has all the options I need.
There are lots of options in case you prefer the convenience of fewer changes.
In most cases you get the option of paper tickets or an e-ticket.
Contacted them for clarification on connections through London (which I now know are INCLUDED) in the price and got a fast and clear response by email in minutes. Really good!
Thanks Jonathan for helping me today.
There seem to be lots of similar sounding websites/companies. Go for this one and you should be OK.

Would never use again

I bought a series of tickets to Lancaster and saved £150. Unfortunately the ticket machine did not print all tickets - the train company explained that this was an error in Ticketysplit’s ordering whilst Ticketysplit blamed the rail company. I had no option but to spend a further £200 and Ticketysplit refuse to refund this. Having enquired further, it does seem quite clear that Ticketysplit did not process the order properly so that the tickets did not print as they should but they refuse to accept responsibility. I would never use this service again.

Trainsplit ticket company are theives

Nothing but trouble and stress caused by this company. They refused to refund me for my ticket that I have not used and will not be using due to having an operation on that day and being offered a lift so I didn't have to travel on the train.
Instead they offer me a low percentage discount on the next ticket I book within 6-12 months. Absolutely disgusting, I will never purchase another ticket through this website.

Great customer service

I use this site regularly now to buy my train tickets as always saves me lots of money. However am traveling on a strike day so have decided to travel by bus. The customer service is absolutely great and no problem to refund one leg of the journey. My experience has always been first class with them that I almost wonder whether those 1* reviews are reviewing the right site !!!!!

Train Split Refund System

Train Split have today advised me that a train for part of a planned return journey to London this weekend has been cancelled and so I have requested a refund for all of the trip. As requested I have sent in via their Customer Services email address, photographs of the tickets in their full and ripped forms and now await my refund. This seems like an odd way to request a refund but I am hopeful of a speedy refund. I will let you know as and when I receive my refund. 5 stars awarded for good service thus far.

Ticket email arrived almost instantly

I've used this site before but not for ages and was a bit nervous after reading some of these reviews but my ticket email arrived literally 2 minutes after I made the purchase and they're all there - phew! I have e-tickets so won't be faced with any potential problems at ticket machines. I'll try to remember to update this after my journey - if something goes wrong then I definitely will change my review! Oh yeah and they saved me almost £10 which is great! My trains were £30 instead of £40, plus they don't charge a booking fee like other sites - including another split ticket site which I first looked at.

Very fast refund

I have used Trainsplit several times and like it. It tends to save me quite a bit of money on journeys along the east coast. Following yesterday's heatwave and today's cancellations on the east coast line, I received confirmation of a refund within a little under 3 hours of submitting it. I haven't received confirmation of a refund so quickly from any other rail operator in the past, so I am very impressed, hence 5 stars. If anyone is thinking of using Trainsplit, I would recommend they do.

If I could give them less than one star…

If I could give them less than one star I would. Ticket code issues did not work at all. I tried on 4 separate attempts to collect the tickets from machines that were definitely working. They wanted me to re-purchase the tickets again at my own expense before they would consider a refund. Or alternatively accept a £10 admin fee for a refund, which is disgusting, as they have failed to provide the goods or service sold to me.
I am now chasing this up with National Rail to file a complaint.

I think that this service is excellent

I think that this service is excellent. In additon, when I needed to cancel a ticket the day before, it was one click!! Then refund less £ 10.00. Much cheaper than Trainline etc.. The chance of speaking to someone in person is about zero though.
