Thorvald & Design is a joke
Thorvald & Design is a joke. I would never in a million years shop here again. We waited nearly five months for a couch, only for it to get canceled. Scam city – don't waste your time or energy.
Have waited more than 4 months for my item, still not received.
I ordered a chair on December 15, 2025 with a 6 week estimated arrival and it is now April 22, 2026 and it has still not been delivered. I have been in contact with the team and it keeps getting pushed out. Hopefully it will come soon but I am extremely unsatisfied with the service.

Nice conversation, friendly and on time with time senitive topics. One star I take off, because the email showed up blank....but it wasn't. With marking the page, the letters colored in and I could read the responses. Tech clutch ;-)

The two chairs “jacobsen style” that we ordered on December 3,2025 finally arrived March 12, 2026.
Delay after delay, to the point of annoyance!!
They look great and feel comfortable, however the “tilt” feature of them is deplorable. They swivel as advertised, but require excessive effort to tilt and impossible to hold in a angled position.
They say it has a 45 degree of tolerance, but that requires significant effort.
They have a small handle below the seat that supposedly adjusts the pressure needed to tilt back, however there is no difference between when the handle is turned tight or when it is loosened.
Nordina Homes after care ( T&D’s) problem solver insists the handle is an on/ off device. Excuse Me, a turn handle working as an on/ off switch.
We settled for a discoun, the third offered-2 for delays and now one for design flaw.

We still have not received our order after more than 4 months. The delivery date has been changed several times with no clear resolution. If there were an option for zero stars, I would absolutely choose it.
SCAM ALERT. THEY DO NOT DELIVER THEIR PRODUCTS
This is the most ridiculous SCAM ever. I placed an order on Jan 7, 2025, my order was pushed back until May 17th 2026 (don’t even think this was going to happen) the customer service is TERRIBLE. They don’t keep you informed at all and you just have to figure it out on your own.
Communication is key
Joe is the Customer Service Agent working on my order. He communicated to me that my shipment is delayed and the timeline for receiving my order is now 6 - 8 weeks. Although I am a bit disppointed with this news, I am very happy that the Agent was transparent with me. I feel confident Joe will keep me posted if anything changes and in the meantime I will patiently wait for my order.

Is this place a Scam?
I'm cracking up that the Corbusier knock-off table still lists "ships in 6 weeks from LA". I cancelled my order after 4 months. I believe the reviews on their website are fake. (notice no way to "leave a review" there). Their customer service reps are typical scammers - friendly, stringing you along, making you think they really care about you. Your card is charged up front.
Good looking pair of Penguins
Got a pair of Penguin lounge chairs. Good quality, solid craftsmanship, and easy assembly. Immediate confirmation of order. Arrived in 4-5 days. Only minor negative is one of wooden backrest, the edge got a little dent. Even with bubble wrapping, the shipping box had holes. Overall, good experience with Thorvald. Appreciate the response from Jonathan and Noah.
Never sent the items ordered - delivery time frame repeatedly changed.
I placed an order for 2 counter stools in December 2025, with the website and order confirming a 6 week delivery time. It is now April 2026 and my order delivery date has been pushed back multiple times and now states Mid May 2026, while the website continues to display a 6 week delivery time (despite the fact that I advised them to update their website no less than 3 times). I do not believe that these items will ever be shipped and just cancelled my order. This has been a terrible experience.

Every team member with whom I had interraction was cordial, professional and seemed to be doing their best to address my issues and make my experience with Thorvald a positive one.
