Great support for renewal aftterv initial period

Great support for renewal of my Thinkdiag subscription. When my initial three year subscription ended I could not work out from the app how to renew as it was all in US. I contacted Thinkdiag via their website and Emma the CEO responded personally, sorted my renewal at a good price and supported me with several emails when i had some issues.

I now have another three years subscription which has been invaluable on Jaguar Land Rover , Mercedes Volvo, Mini and Mazda. Good special features such as oil degradation reset on an Evoque.

Misleading Renewal Process – Beware After Initial Purchase

I originally purchased the full diagnostic package to help with my Chrysler Crossfire—essentially a re-badged Mercedes SLK 320 (R170). At first, it worked well. The system correctly identified the vehicle using Mercedes details and unlocked a wide range of useful tools.

However, when it came time to renew, the price had gone up significantly—and the functionality dropped.

This time, the system identified my car as a Chrysler Crossfire (based on my VIN), and I assumed the toolset would be the same. After paying, I discovered many of the key diagnostic features were missing. What I received was not fit for purpose.

I raised a complaint. Initially, ThinkDiag responded that they would issue a refund—then later claimed it was “processing”—before changing their mind entirely and refusing the refund.

PayPal offered no protection either, so I’m now speaking to my bank to initiate a chargeback.

Bottom line:
The product may work initially, but once your renewal is due, expect inflated pricing and reduced functionality. And if anything goes wrong—don’t count on PayPal to help. First-time buyers, be cautious. Renewals come with surprises—and not the good kind.

We have not spoken to you about a refund. We have not even sold you a renewal or any kind of upgrade. We don't believe we have ever sold you anything including a thinkdiag. This renewal was NOT done via ourselves. It sounds like you renewed via the app directly with the manufacturer. This is supported by the fact that we don't even accept PayPal for renewals or offer renewals on our website. We think your review is against the wrong company. (Trust pilot you need to stop these false reviews now. )

We don't run the app this is a different business, please email me the dispute details to emma@thinkdiag.co.uk. You will see on our website that we don't offer renewals via PayPal. You can purchase a device via PayPal but not a renewal. When you look at the dispute it will show a different company email not ours.

We had an issue that we needed sorting…

We had an issue that we needed sorting as soon as possible to avoid cancellation of a full diary for our customers and Jules went above an beyond to help us. I am so grateful and would highly recommend. And thank you so much to Trevor for coming to help straight away! 5* service

Terrible/non existent customer service

Terrible/non existent customer service. Sent several emails after receiving unit which was missing the cable which I had paid for. Had a very basic non apologetic email from Emma who claims it was sent but has failed to send proof that it was sent....... or is planning to send another recorded delivery as she stated......that was nearly a week ago and has failed to respond to any of my correspondence since. In total been over three weeks since I ordered and still not resolved......

Absolutely fantastic bit of kit

Absolutely fantastic bit of kit. Was expecting a few days before it arrived but it was here the very next day and customer service has been second to none. Can not fault this company in the slightest. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family.

Aftersale customer suport

Aftersale customer suport simply doenst exist.
I mailed the requesting a bill because customs require me and no response so far.

Order number is THI5654. Bought from you 2 of november sended via evry. Got stopped on customs saying they needed documentation on the package but it didnt say where to submit the documentation. First contacted the shipment company (evri) and they said i have to talk with the shop. Sended you a message through the web to ask where i got to submit the documentation and got no response.
Looking that i got no response from you i had to search myself through various shipment trackers and found the customs that had it (correos aduanas). Then i contacted them to know what documentation they need. 
I submited all the documentation that i could but i also needed to submit an invoice on the product from you.
I sent you a message, second time, trough the website to see if you could send me an invoice so i can get the product through customs and finally get it shipped to my house.
Again no response, but this time because it is at customs it cant be more than a month because the packgage will go to destruction.
Seeing this and that i got no response from you i only could  do a last resort thing that is making a fake invoice so i can get it through and not lost the package and my hard earned 150 euros that i paid for it.
Now 2 month later i get a response from you not from your website but through trustpilot because you got a bad review from me. That prety much shows your aftersale customer support. If anyone is considering buying through this website please consider this review and other peoples reviews on this web with same experiences on customer support.

Please can you confirm your order number and when you emailed so that we can investigate why you have not had a response. We normally send all the customs documentation with the parcel or digitally as our couriers require us to do so. Please respond to our request for information via trustpilot to enable us to identify your order etc.

Emailed numerous times for support but not heard nothing back. Device works well but only customer support is through the app but even they cannot answer my queestion

Customer support for car diagnostics is via the app (This app is run via the manufacturer and not us), we are not the manufacturer we are just a retailer. The support is community-based on the app but the manufacturer does respond via the app too. I am sorry that the manufacturer did not have the answer to your question.

I ordered it online at thinkdiag.co.uk. I got nothing in the mail just an empty box. I even had to pay customs. I sent them a lot of emails, they don't answer. Scammers!!

fantastic scanner for home mechanic.

Prior to purchase I set several questions via their web site but received no response. Not deterred I went ahead and purchased the Thinkdiag with 3 years software. I can honestly say this is an exceptional device for a home mechanic. It has helped me diagnose my family cars and has saved me a fortune.

Very good scanner

Very good scanner, does more than autel and snap on, would 100% recommend to any garage or diagnostic technician. Coding function has worked faultlessly so far.

Fantastic piece of kit and customer…

Fantastic piece of kit and customer service that is even better. Had for around 2 years now and it has saved me both time and money. Also taught me how certain things work and given me a wider range of understanding in the running and upkeep of car. Customer service is outstanding and go the extra 2 miles to sort any issues out. Would not be without this piece of kit regardless of what car I drove. Pays for itself instantly just in what you can learn.
