Genuine, not perfect
I am not giving a 5-star rating because this business is genuinely perfect. I am giving it because it's perfectly genuine. Their mission is to keep the writer's hands warm, and they achieve just that.
I ordered their gloves at the end of October 2023, directly from thewritersglove.com. They were shipped from the US, and I live in Europe. The gloves arrived about one month later. After a few days of regular use, the knuckle seams began to unravel. This did not affect their utility so far. One week later, the gloves started pilling too. Again, merely a visual nuisance. Also, if I make a sudden motion while I am wearing them, they generate a pocket of cold air in the space between my hand and the glove. This is the only major complaint I can bring against them, but then again, one should avoid jerking their hands around if they are cold.
So why do I give them a sterling recommendation? Because these gloves were meant for indoor typing. You wear them when you press the keys on your keyboard in a confined space. You don't wear them while practicing your Jiu-Jitsu moves on top of the Kanchenjunga. They keep your hands warm, not heat them. They alleviate poor circulation, not treat it.
And for that stated purpose, they are just the right fit.
As I've already illustrated, The Writer's Glove isn't perfect, but it is genuine.
Is there room for better product quality?
Yes.
Could they improve their online customer experience?
Yes.
Should they make it easier (and faster) to acquire their products outside the US?
Yes.
Would it be wise to expect all that to happen sooner rather than never?
Yes, and much more.
For that last reason alone, I would give it 4 stars. But this is a small business that has put more passion into its goal than too many big companies out there, so it deserves only the highest commendation.
