The Whitaker Museum has been part of the cultural life of the Rossendale Valley for over one hundred years. Set in the beautiful Whitaker Park in Rawtenstall, it’s a great day out for all. Traditional and contemporary museum, but with a modern twist. The Whitaker has redeveloped all of its existing galleries and created new opportunities for people to connect with art, culture, and one another. With current contemporary artists from up and down the country exhibiting in their galleries. From artist events to museum tours to workshops to film nights, explore what the Whitaker has coming up by downloading their latest What’s On Guide. Also home to The Bar & Kitchen. The perfect place to eat is in Rossendale. A great relaxed environment to enjoy some locally sourced food & drink with a delicious menu perfect for a weekend brunch, afternoon tea, cocktails, coffee, and a fantastic Sunday roast. What was once the stable block for the original house has been redeveloped into a cultural venue for special cultural events, weddings attached to The Bar & Kitchen. Great value exceptional lunch

Great value exceptional lunch, good atmosphere, relaxed and welcoming. Gardens around venue great. Museum & park look to be busier than in previous years. Well done on upgrade / refurbishment.

Lovely sense of space.

The exhibitions are really well curated: plenty to see but not too overwhelming. The whole place is well laid out and child and wheelchair friendly with a general feeling of space. The café has an imaginative menu and is very reasonable priced. It’s the sort of venue you want to return to because you feel comfortable there. A stroll round the delightful gardens afterwards is a must.

Sunday lunch at the Whitaker

Had a lovely lunch at the Whitaker on Sunday.It is great value and food is delicious .Lunch and views second to none.Also we visited the shop which has some great cards and gifts etc.We bought a book .
