I have never even purchased anything…

I have never even purchased anything from Vermont Country Store. However, I have somehow ended up on a marketing engine that refuses to honor my many attempts to stop the incessant emails. Direct contact with VCS and assurances I would be removed yielded zero results. This company is clearly selling my data and employs terrible policies regarding customer privacy. Avoid them!

Never had a business with this company…

Never had a business with this company and they somehow obtained my email address and bomb emailing me their advertisements once or twice daily. Their "unsubscribe" hyperlink doesn't do anything at all. I contacted them requesting my email address to be removed from their list, they want my residence address... no thanks!! They should be blacklisted as a spammer. All their emails are sent directly to my junk folder.

This store is a joke

This store is a joke. Customer service is rude and slow. The rep told me "the item shipped!" and said "i am sorry." yeah, i bet you are. i didn't receive a shipment confirmation (checked spam folder too) and i signed into their "system" this past weekend to check status since it had been a week since placing and the system didn't even locate the order. i now have to pay return shipping AND eat the 13.95 shipping and processing fee to get this back to them, an item i needed timely but they took days to process. from the other reviews, sounds like i won't get a refund for at least six weeks upon them re-receiving the item too.

Waiting 4 months and still no refund.

I ordered 2 clothing items in November, 2021. They were both poor quality, especially considering the price. The company offers 100% satisfaction guarantee, so I promptly returned the items. It is nearing the end of March, 2022, and I still do not have my $125 refund. When I contacted the company I was told something like "we are running behind in refunds". Now, I take that as meaning they are out of funds needed to refund. The credit card company has been notified, but, thus far, it appears that they are not having any success either.

05/2022 Update---since this had taken so many months, I misplaced the proof of mailing from the post office. Without the proof, the credit card company had nothing use to demand the refund. I "assume" that the products were returned to inventory when they were received back at the company---and I am still out $125.

I've been ordering from them for years

I've been ordering from them for years. I mainly get things for the house since they have some quality made in America items. The wood drying rack holds up my 30 lb pet hanging on it. I wish they would have more made in America clothing.

I also use them for many holiday gifts to friends and family. They have consistently done a great job.

Excellent products and reliable service; love the Christmas cakes!

I have ordered from The Vermont Country Store regularly for the past 8 years. Their service has always been reliable, professional and efficient. I love their nightgowns, Christmas cakes, book weight (to keep your book open while reading; handy while eating a meal) and very practical kitchen tools.

FRAUDS: Exploiting Cheap Labor While Selling a Family-Business Story

I wanted a pair of leg warmers- but not from a big box or chain store. I ordered a pair from Vermont Country Store- thinking... I don’t know, they’d be made in Vermont?! They arrived quickly, are cheap looking, and were made in China. What a joke. Admittedly, I should have done my research. But I feel cheated and lied to. These folks are just capitalists profiting off cheap overseas labor while selling us a “Vermont family-owned” story. They should be ashamed. Similarly, they dishonor and disrespect REAL Vermont manufacturers and artists. Disgusting, shallow, short-sighted. Lesson learned.

Schizophrenic company. If possible, try to find a better place to order your stuff.

I've dealt with the Vermont Country Store for twenty-five years. Try to find a better place to order whatever it is you intended to buy from them.

An item is taking a month to get to me. The travel history of the item through Fedex makes no sense. It was sent pre-sorted standard shipping Fedex/USPS. Transit time and the supposed journey back and forth to twenty cities is just not acceptable. Maybe USPS Priority Mail would have been better?

I've already had to take extra steps to block catalogs and spam. This company has been very wasteful in the past, sending many unwanted catalogs. Their marketing can be very aggressive. In the past, they greatly overpriced multiple items. That may be better now? Some employees appear to be fine people. The selection of products at least used to be great. So they are schizophrenic; the old New England side of the company is one face, the predatory, unpredictable, hyper, greedy side that sent my sheet on a tour of the country is another.

Their website was confusing and not user-friendly for me. I think several items shared the same item number? Too many clicks were needed to get to the info I wanted.

BUYER BEWARE! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! EXTREMELY SLOW SHIPPING & RETURNS!

I made a $275.00 purchase from the Vermont County Store on July 25th. When I received the order several weeks later it was NOT as advertised. In fact, the advertisement in their online catalog was misleading at best! Customer service said that I was responsible for return shipping & they were still processing returns from June 10th 2020 because of COVID-19! My refund took almost 6 (SIX) weeks to process. This information is not stated upfront & seems excessive considering that "We are all in this together." In addition to slow shipping, extremely slow returns, & misleading product descriptions, they removed my review! I am very disappointed because... THIS IS A FAMILY OWNED COMPANY WHO BRAGS ABOUT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE SINCE 1946 & "BEING A STORE LIKE NO OTHER".

Free return shipping should be a given

Vermont Country Store makes you pay for return shipping for any items you want to return. In the era of Amazon, that alone should give you pause before purchasing from them. Return shipping should be built into the item price. Trust me, if prices were a wee bit higher, no one would notice.

Excellent experience

I have bought several different types of items over the last few months, and all have exceeded my expectations. Excellent quality across the board, with great customer service.
